The big issue is the coach. If the club doesnt play finals next year with the talent on their list, then he wont be the coach in 2026. If a super coach gets a hold of this list, they will do a Blight.
Head coach and selection cost them. Coach stubborn to make obvious changes in midfield. Playing Smith, Murphy, Laird really impacted the season. Nicks not ruthless enough. Do think with off season and some talent on the list we should improve though. I imagine a coach who could actually get the best out if the squad. Hopefully inclusion of Davis to coaching panel will help this.
It's easy, firstly we lost Rahilly to Geelong which put a massive dent in our attacking game plan. Secondly Tex didn't have the same year he did in 2023 and we had no one to step up till Thilthorpe came back from injury.Thirdly, we didn't try to develop our next midfield core group but instead rely on the same players we have for the past couple years. Fourthly, we still sucked at the areas that cost us a finals spot in 2023 like winning the close games, closing out games when we're well ahead by the 3rd quarter and learning to win away. And lastly with Nicks being Pyke 2.0 we were too reliant on the senior players (or his favourites) with a slow and shite defensive game plan instead of using young kids in their appropriate positions (seriously Smith should never made it too the point where he got a contract extension, Murphy should have got zero games this year and Laird has been going backwards yet still gets game time) Edit- and I have to pick you up on the goal umpiring debacle, that decision didn't cost us a spot in the finals, we lost it ourselves. Go back and look at 2023, how many games did we lose when we were leading at 3 quarter time, how many games did we lose by under a goal or 2 and look at how bad our away record was. Yes that was a bad decision but us not making the finals was decided before that
Adelaide is in an interesting position. They should be better, but the top 12 is so strong that they could easily find themselves in the bottom 4 again. That Melb guy should help.
The dud with the grey shirt is looking at the guy he is talking to too much! Sound crazy? On TV he should be mostly looking at the camera when talking. Even it that means you pin a picture of Phoenix above the camera. In Phoenix's case when you're listening you need to be looking at the camera not the speaker. Its counter intuitive, but its the way that the pros on Seven and Nine do it. I could see real attempt by the grey shirt dude as it went on. But when you're looking at the computer screen you'd better spend the rest of the time looking at the camera. Also not sure why Phoenix was looking at the screen when he was listening. I hope you take the feedback in good faith. Its great to hear a different viewpoint.
Great analysis and discussions too 👍

Said it perfect mate - I think nicks is a good rebuild bottom 4 coach but not to take a squad to a prem
We should have made finals this year, next year we should be winning a final. If we don't make the 8 Nicks has to go

Is there an eagles video on its way?
Hi mate, we did a West Coast season review with Will Schofield back in September. Can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/pk56VpSM4lQ/v-deo.html
@ thanks mate
The crows fell apart as a unit late in the season, and embarrassed themselves against port in round 21 or whenever. 2025 will be their year.
I think they're in interesting times, a bit like Saints. I feel they should be better than Essendon though
