It's admirable what a sad and dark issue Myles can transform into such a happy and bright song. None of the songs from this album (so far) is sad or depressed, but that's kind of something you expect when someone writes an album about their father passing away. I'm stunned by Myles over and over.

Exactly! Is there really anyone else around who can do that? I can't come up with no else than Myles Kennedy. He's so versatile. And that suits me fine for my music taste is eclectic. The fun part is has anyone noticed Myles dresses slightly different. This is not the AB-look that I like. He has grown a beard and wears flannels for this project! I just love those details. Maybe because I'm a woman? Perhaps Selena, his wife, has a say in this? Anyway, Myles has also fashion sense! ;) :)

I love the Alter Bridge sound as much as the next die hard alter bridge fan. However, my tastes vary quite a bit. I think this album, from what i have heard so far, is going to be on the same level as Fortress for me. I cant get enough of this.

I’m just going to throw this out there for fun. I’m a little late getting to the Myles party, never heard of Alter Bridge until after seeing the performance of Slash and the gang doing Crazy Town. I was riveted by Myles’ performance. I’ve always liked Slash but hadn’t listened to any of his music since leaving GNR. so anyway, I’m m looking around for their music and saw how many other projects Myles has been a part of. Got all the Slash music which I love. Tried some Alter Bridge and honestly don’t like it. Its too metal for me. All that to say Im loving Year of the Tiger. Not only for the music but just to watch someone let go of that much pain is therapeutic. I love that so many of Myles’ fans are embracing this music and i hope it isn’t his last solo effort.
I'm really liking the sound of this album. I was a little disappointed with the last Alter Bridge album. Not that I thought it was bad in anyway, but I was looking for a different sound more like this. Honestly the mixing and production sound a lot better on this one too.
DaltonThomas I feel The Last Hero was way to LOUD. Overproduced. I love it though, I still jam to quite a few songs from that album but it pales in comparison to the other stuff. I really love this bluesy-acoustic style he’s doing on his solo record. I’m seeing him in May and each new song I hear gets me more and more excited. It’s going to be a small, intimate venue and just Myles and a guitar. It’s going to be an incredible night!

Even though the whole album kicks ass......this is my favourite song of fhe bunch. Just my opinion, But I believe without this album, Myles Kennedy didn't stand a chance of ever making it into the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. We as fans know how fantastic and awesome Alter Bridge is. Arguably one of the most skilled and talented bands of my generation. (Myles and I share a birthday both born Thanksgiving 1969) Myles other big thing for the past 12 or so years has been with Slash + the Conspirators. I really dig that bands' sound as well. Creed will make the Hall of Fame. Slash already made it in with GnR. None of the other projects Myles has done or been a part of up to this point is really Hall of Fame worthy either. Now WE (all of us who are Alter Bridge, Slash band, & Myles Kennedy fans) all know that EVERYTHING Myles Kennedy does is Hall of Fame worthy because yeah....He is really just that good. He fuckin' rocks everytime he gets up on a stage, plays incognito on a sidewalk in his home town, and picks up a guitar. But this solo thing...... (it's even gaining momentum here in the states where Myles Kennedy is perhaps the most under-rated performer of all time)....This solo thing.... will be what solidifies Myles place in rock and roll history. And he's doing it alone, without the likes of Slash and Tremonti & gang. I think that alone speaks volumes. MYLES KENNEDY...... YOU FUCKIN' ROCK!!!! You are IMHO the most talented lead singer, most skillful lead, rhythm, or co-guitar player, and most humble and admirable human beings I have ever heard, seen, or otherwise been made aware of, in my entire life!!

I'm liking the idea of this album, and I'm pleased with the style. However, the 3 songs released all seem very, very similar to each other, at least to my ear.
Strange but good. I enjoyed the fully arranged chorus but the lyrics just don't match up with my taste. The song is well produced and the country/bluesy thing doesn't bother me because I kinda like it. However, before these releases I was really hoping for something more connected to The Mayfield Four kinda thing. The reason is because I was so young in that time and I wast aware of that band. Today I love what they did. For some clear reason - I am a great fan of Myles, I still can't wait to hear the whole album and also for him to play everything on an acoustic set.
