Mike Rowe and Nathan Fillion are two of my all-time favorite celebrities, but I never imagined they were neighbors or that I'd see them chatting on a podcast together. This is awesome.
Don't forget there is also a movie though I really didn't like one scene near the end. _I am a leaf on the wind, watch m............._ I know it's only a movie but that far king sucked IMO. I loathe the basturd who wrote that scrappy line. _Wash_ didn't deserve that. 😪😪😪
My mom and dad and I were in NYC for the Bi-Centennial, 1976 (from the Midwest). On a bus and mom and dad were trying to figure out where to get off. Some woman overheard them and said "just follow me". After a bit more of a ride she said "Okay - get off here." Then she walked us down a couple of blocks and pointed down the cross street. "Go down two more blocks and it'll be on the left - you'll see the signs. My mom was so grateful "Thank you so much - and what a blessing that this was just the way you were going!" "Oh, no ma'am. My stop was two stops ago." And she turned around and left.
They’re so right about New York. I was visiting in 2001 (just a few weeks before the twin towers fell 😢) and I happen to get off at the wrong subway stop. I was trying to figure out my tourist map and how to get where I was going, and a man wearing clothes that probably would have cost a couple months of my wages at the time stopped, and rather than show me the complicated directions on the map, he turned around and said “just follow me.” He walked with me three blocks (3 of those super long, east-west NYC blocks!) in the opposite direction, pointed up the street and said “Do you see that bright neon sign? That’s right next to where you’re going.” He turned back around in his very expensive suit, shoes and briefcase and disappeared back down the way we’d come. 💕 Loved NY at that time. 💕
I respect Mike more than most celebrities out there, always have. And I'm a huge fan of nathan. And to hear that they were friends and neighbors made my day. I would love to hear more stories about these two and would love to just have lunch with them. This is awesome
*NEVER* meet those you idol from TV as they may really disappoint and then you have lost something great in your life. Admired Mike Rowe until he appeared before a Congress hearing about jobs because he is now a world expert because he made a TV show about jobs. His "expert" comment was less than stellar and he allowed his political bias to cloud his TV show "expertise." Kind of like how a certain Orange 🤡 thinks they are an expert on *everything* because that long gone artificial show wasn't real but the contrived faux ratings still ring as real in the 🤡s vacious empty and numb skull.
Thank you Mike I'm a third career adult. 25 years as an executive chef, 14 is a sergeant deputy sheriff, And now reinventing myself as an academic adviser at an aeronautical university. Courage is the word of the day
People really don't get that courage gets easier every time you do it, do they?? I mean, it's always terrifying, but that it *is* terrifying is somehow less terrifying when you know you've survived that level of terror before. It really is true that very few things in life are fatal, regardless of how ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN one is that one just can't stand the terror one more second. And that's without having done even one of Mike Rowe's 'Dirty Jobs'. You go for it with both hands - a stranger on the other side believes that whether you nail it or not, you're going to end up with something fabulous ❤❤❤
@fionam7768 well spoke and true words. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree. Plus its rewarding to devote your full faculty to a worthy cause, with unknown outcomes.
The world needs more neighbors like Nathan Fillion and Mike Rowe. Mike is the stoic yet funny rock you can lean against and Nathan, also stoic and funny is the friend that really wants to make sure that you are ok and are enjoying whatever place you're at and that no matter what you have to go back to that things are ok, right now.
Mike has always been about what is reality. Not social media reality or news reality, the folks on the ground reality. This is why I love him. In this simulation..go with what Mike says.. Love from Texas
Mike Rowe is the Paul Harvey of Our Day; a truly blessed orator. Always a point and a laugh in every story. Each story is told with style, vigor and detail that captivates listeners and brings them into the stories.
Mike, that story about Heidi and the Mason jar are the makings of an epic country song. You and Nathan NEED to write AND perform that tune. I'd be the first to buy it.
Interesting ... I just finished watching all the "Castle" episodes (again) ... after completing some genealogy research and finding Nathan is my 8th cousin .... really special find for me. ❤
Full podcast was a great listen. Love th eboth of ye from up in Canada been watching you both since You were Tim's Taylors Brother, and Nathon was in 2 guys a girl and a pizza place
I’ve got to say, I’ve been aware of Mike Rowe, but never really watched any of his shows. No particular reason, just never got around to it. Clicked because Fillion, and now I now what a phenomenal storyteller Mike Rowe is. The memory for details and the ability to call them back on the fly, amazing. Subscribed.
Man oh man, it’s fun listening to this stuff. There are no story tellers in my own family (it was a bunch of dour, sour farmers on that side), but decades ago it was so fun getting together with my husband’s family because his dad and uncles were such raconteurs. I’d never laughed so hard and long in my life. Thanks for this!
Mike, Your videos always cause me to pause in either deep thoughts or hilarious pant wetting laughter. Thank you for this hilarious, helpful and hip smacking video you posted today. ❤ There’s NOTHING more enjoyable and entertaining than someone , in your kitchen, telling you are good old fashioned true story about an unusual event in their life . Great stories , good memories and two chaps that look like they will share more great memories and stories in the future . I feel great after that video 👍 How about everyone else ?
I've always loved Mike Rowe (since his QVC days); but only recently became enamored of Nathan (while watching GotGv3). What fun to watch them together!
These are great stories! Very enjoyable : ) That’s something I don’t hear people talk about much - people in NYC are SO helpful when you're lost. So much so, that if you stop and take a peek at one of those small explore NYC books or google maps on your phone, you have to do it surreptitiously because it will be seconds, literally seconds, before someone stops and asks if you need help finding a place. When I took my daughter there and I told her this she did not believe me. Later we were on a subway platform both peering down at my phone, trying to figure out what side we are supposed to be on. An an older gentleman with a strong Jamaican accent showed us how we had to walk over a walkway that we hadn’t even noticed. Not told us, he insisted on physically showing us. It’s a complicated but magical place.
Just really want to Thank Mike for Showing about "RODBUSTING" because it Shows just How Brutal the Conditions are & have been since Rebar placement!!! Thanks again Mike for Showing that Episode because most people call me a Liar!!! Power Plants were so much Harder than a Bridge Deck!!!
Had no idea what I was expecting when clicking on this video, but boy I regret not seeing it sooner cause this is GOLD. Had no idea you were associated with Nathan Fillon, a pleasant surprise however wonder this was this friendship was never brought up lol.
I could listen to these two tell stories all night. Such an entertaining pair. Mike is still my Hollywood boyfriend though even though he doesn't know it hahahah.

Mike Rowe and Nathan Fillion are two of my all-time favorite celebrities, but I never imagined they were neighbors or that I'd see them chatting on a podcast together. This is awesome.
Mike Rowe is super respectable, Nathan is just a good actor I like to watch occasionally.
I wouldn't call them celebrities. They just seem to be all around good men.
I’d have loved to be in that car or making snow angels
Best thing I'll get to see all month.
The fact that these two were neighbors and buds makes them both cooler.
Firefly is iconic. Dirty Jobs is iconic. Both, because of these two dudes.
Only watched Firefly for the first time this year!!! Can’t believe only 1 season and the movie. 😢
I watched them both too when I can find them. I think I watched the whole Castle show.

For 8.25 million people to live together, they can’t help but express their natural human condition, being neighborly.

Nathan Fillion is awesome. I watched Firefly and Serenity on repeat for years. Best dude.
Have it on box set 😂❤👍🏻
Shiny!
I still watch them at least once every year.
I wish Firefly had gotten its just due being continued. Bummed out that it only got one season.
Somebody behind the scenes must have killed it.
I loved Firefly so sad we didn't get the last season
“Fecal fountains of filth” -Mike Rowe is a alliteration genius
Two great storytellers in a conversation is delightful.

Another great interview. Mike can tell a story like no other man
So nice to hear actors telling a story with a girl in it, and I don’t have to worry about my young son listening.
This friendship feels like a fever dream. And i LOVE IT!
OMG! This is hilarious! Best laugh in weeks.
I felt like I was just snuggled in for a most hilarious story time. Thank you, Mike and Nathan! ❤️
It's great that they are friends. That's what we need in the world now. Let's talk to each other more and smile more. 🙏✝️🕊️🤗
Two people I didn't expect to be old friends, but I'm absolutely here for it.
Two of my favorite gentlemen. ❤
Lovely to hear two men who can tell stories, emote and converse without a script. That they are entertainment personalities is golden.
