ATS panel wiring / Automatic Changeover Switch for Generator / Automatic Transfer Switch

#ATS_panel_wiring is explained here with fine animation work.
An #automatic_transfer_switch (#automatic_changeover_switch) transfers power supply from its main source to a backup generator automatically, when it senses partly failure or a total failure in the primary source.
When a failure occurs in the primary power system, the #ATS invokes the backup source, which is a three phase diesel powered generator here, to run electric equipment until utility power is restored.
#ATS_panel needs to be properly designed and wired to the primary and backup power sources correctly.

No, it's not at all clear. The topic is easy, but the video makes it horribly convoluted, and the animations are unbelievably bad. It wouldn't be easy to make something less clear than this video. According to the VDE, the mains must first be switched off, then wait briefly, and then the emergency power must be switched on again. The switches must be mutually interlocked so that both are never switched on at the same time.
The system must be immune to very short dropouts.

Further to the electrical interlocking arrangement through auxiliary contact points of a magnetic contactor, we can introduce an additional mechanical interlock in between the two main contactors.
It will too help stopping both contactors getting power at the same time.
