Bro back in the gap I used to learn his songs and it was so difficult for me but made me so much better as a player. Lot of respect for this guy and his ability to adapt musically as he likes.

@@philipsimpson1160 Breath of the Wild is a lot more simple and cartoonish. Daikon's artstyle is extremely complex, with an impressive amount of details on the masks, helmets, and the suitcase/coffin.

This song Is apparently about a family member finding a corpse in a suitcase in the Thames. I wonder if the protagonist in this video looks like Ben's uncle. I absolutely love this album

I've loved Ben for a long time. This change in his style was hard to hear at first, but after like 5 listens I eventually dig it. I fully support Ben in whichever artistic direction he wishes to pursue. Love you Ben! :D

I am absolutely blown away. The visuals are strange yet somewhat familiar. I love how open to interpretation it is. Together with the haunting yet calming vocals and the carrying melodies makes me feel like I too am floating down that river only to eventually go back to where I belong.
Ben hasn't released this many music videos since the first album. I'm absolutely loving it! COTW is a masterpiece.

This is just beautiful. The guy at 0:58 seems to carry a trimurti and the lyrics also relate to the hinduistic myth of the unity of everything. Just a little interpretation from my side, it could be and is most certainly far of.
"Whats that in the river? That suitcase, that floating thing? Oh my mind." The river could be a symbol for the everchanging flow of life and in it flows the suitcase which is the mind. The suitcase is a symbol for the roleplay of the devine. The suitcase is the mind which contains every role ever played, in the same way as a suitcase contains every piece of clothing to change between certain roles. The suitcase contains everything.
The suitcase also transforms to ben, at first it is a pearl and far away (an object of desire), than it becomes just a floating thing, than something that burns through time (is permanent). The permance is also expressed with "Isn't there a birthday? A place I should be?" The mind is without birth and he can't find a limit of himself and he therefore loses his place in the world. He gets to know his own mind, the fundamental ground of being.
And he is confused by this and he realizes that his mind is that which plays all roles, and he therefore asks "Why is it always me?" and the line follows with "Finding things I should never have seen" - because once you have dis-covered that everything is lila, the game of the devine, everything loses its fundamental unconscious game character. Once you discovered something, you cannot cover it again.
that is an interesting interpretation. The visuals, colors and trippy musical landscape feel unexplicably Mayan to me, including the mysterious ritual. A work of art from Ben.

Noonday was when he went forward mate that album is a masterpiece everything on there is unique this a good album but never been a fan of dressner I love that ben does not want to be mainstream I think noonday will be listened to for years and years it will never go stale a lot like any cocteau twin album they were years ahead of there time as well .
Every album is unique and beautiful in it's own way.
He’s heavily under the influence of the producer here. This feels the least like Ben. I hope this isn’t the artist he is going to be. It’s missing passion and depth. It feels dead, not alive. Overly produced and mechanical.

"Collections From The Whiteout" is a superb album. I do not intend to hurt the long term fans of Ben Howard, but in my opinion this album is so far better than anything he did before. He is now in my top list of favourite songwrites. Hope he continues in that direction.
I'd say it's different and I appreciate him doing exactly what he wants. It isn't better for me do far...haven't listened as much as I did the last album.

I've listened to this for a while now. I wanted to leave a witty comment with cool words about it. I finally gave up. I'm speechless.
Appreciate Ben being true to himself and making different styles of music but can’t say I enjoy listening to it. Every Kingdom and IFWWW were easier to digest. Each to their own though
The other songs in this album have been really good imo. But I feel like this one consistently keeps trying to hit a rhythm and just doesn't find it unfortunately.
