Sailing Rowcruiser - first Overnighter on board

- My first time sleeping on board - was pretty muggy in the cabin here in the tropics. Would like to know how people are managing their sails at anchor? I sailed into shore then packed them up and strapped them to the Akas.
I used a self inflating mattress which was comfortable to sleep on but was hot and humid in the cabin. Couldn’t keep the hatch open because it rained. Might rig up a small tent cover to set up over the hatch.
I’ll be keen to have another go and make a more detailed video.
Awesome trip!!! Those waters are so blue! Love it. Boat looks great.
Enjoyed seeing this as my rowcruiser is currently under wraps for the winter in Canada. I have an alternate rig, using balanced lug sails, so I have halyards and lazyjacks and can douse the sails at anchor. I also have a boom tent to cover the cockpit so I can keep under cover and cook if it is raining. Of course these sails and spars are heavier, and catch some windage, so it is not the best setup for maximum rowing efficiency but I prefer being able to douse and also reef the sails from the cockpit. I also made a simple hinged wood prop to keep the front end of the hatch open while sleeping, greatly reduces humidity and condensation inside the cabin but still keeps the rain out as long as it isn't blowing hard.
Hi Eric,
Thanks for your comment - id live to see the details of your set up as described. Is there any chance you could email me some pics ? Or do you have a UA-cam channel that you could upload a short vid ?? Thanks again mate
@@damoking9471 I'm not comfortable with publishing my email address on UA-cam, so I'm not sure how to email you photos unless you put your email address here? Cheers!
@@MrEricmgt my email is on the angus rowcruiser website - its on the forum posts. Ive been contacted by interesting guys from all round the world building their rowcruisers which was a great experience.
