The cause of a toxic work culture in architectural firms is an outdated business model. .Architecture is not a way to save the world; nor is it a religion. High art is obsolete Design makes a difference if it can generate more money for a client. Firms hire and fire by the job because fees are low and cash flow is unstable Mentorship doesn't happen- when there are more job seekers than jobs. .Architects need to merge with engineering or contracting services to be able to provide benefits, job security, good wages etc.This hasn't happened. . Architecture firms also need to own rental properties to provide solid cash flow between large projects. Architects need training in business.This is especially important for marketing and cost controls.. . Narcissistic leadership and egotism hide incompetence, Problems recent grads experience on the job means college curriculum must change. Good video! Seek new opportunities.
