Comparison is not correct. God gave different voices to human beings. Ghantasala Master was legendary singer, par excellence. So many popular stage singers like Mitra, Kanna Rao, Gangadhara Sastry, Kakinada Ramana, to name a few, and there are so many, some with classical background and some purely imitating, sang, but a very few mistakes are usually committed, which are negligible, in alaap, swar visthar etc., because singing at a stretch 15 minutes, concentrating on music, on lyrics, on swar and swar sthana, on a stage in front of huge audience, no chance for correction, it is not an easy job. Ghantasala Master is an exception, he was karana janmudu. Let us not meticulously pin point but encourage youngsters, who are atleast attempting. Now a days songs, can anybody remember, after coming out from theatre.
Darbar Kanada rag, I read from the books, Kanada rag originated from Kannada Desam, and Darbar is a Persian Word means Court. In Raaja Maharaaja courts, this rag was presented in olden days and the name Darbar Kaanada came and Taansen popularised this rag. I may be wrong also. One thing is pukka, in a karnatic vocal concert, singer has liberty, he will cough on the stage, drink hot water, time taking, etc., but in films it is quite different, they have to show visuals with situational songs in a 3 to 15 minutes duration, it is not an easy job. In olden days it was live recording, any instrument man or singer commit any mistake, retake only. Now a days, after computerisation, cut and paste, recording is easy, line by line singing that too on tracks, mistakes can be corrected n number of times. This I want to share. For information of people, Ghantasala Master did not sing any time on stage this song, this SPB told.
