Gilana's Fund was established through the Community Foundation for Muskegon County in 2007. It was created shortly after Gilana Alpert passed away in November of that year at the age of 26 due to a reaction to prescription medications. The fund, which has raised over $30,000, celebrates and encourages educational programming promoting acceptance and understanding of our communities, each other, and ourselves.
