Ack, look at their bus 3,4 positive EQ That seems like they are trying to boost things. Gotta start from scratch and go thru gain staging or “structure” and build from inputs on thru. They may not need a pro level to fly in but likely a good local X32 skilled mixer to come in and review. From a local AV shop. The issue is not steel guitar, it is general board setup. If they were within 50 miles of me, I would do it for free. In SE Pennsylvania here.
I’m not sure I understand the question exactly, but the SD card recorder will record the signal right after the preamp gain. To set gain properly, select the channel, go to Home > Config and view the input meter in the top left. I set my input gain to -12dB for each input. During a live show you can click on the Meters button to the right of the screen and view all of your input meters in one place. To see EQ and comp you will need to either click the Home button or go into the actual settings of each one for each channel to see what is happening. Some people choose to have a computer or iPad connected to their console to be able to view other settings on a larger screen and not impact their console workflow.

Yeah, I hear ya. There are certainly a number of things to be addressed and hopefully they can pick up some tips from the comment section.
