It always makes me so happy when I type Wei Koh in the search bar and a video I haven’t yet seen pops up. Thanks for the great content; it’s much appreciated.
What a guy, really - keeping it 'no bullshit pure business'. That's some honesty that I can appreciate. Stark contrast against the CEO from a certain family-owned independent brand who claims that they don't produce that many of their steel models because of production limitations, and that people need to 'appreciate' the average 6 year wait.
This was a surprisingly honest conversation talking about the business aspect on watches which I very much enjoyed. I.e the need to make these watches limited, aiming to the auction market etc.
I really enjoyed the interview! This watch is amazing, and it was even more profound to see that there are collabs around the watch that look even more stunning.
So nice to see a non BS interview from a company that actually makes watches for sale unlike some that are limiting production to up their supposed "prestige". Once i get my job back my next watch will be a Zenith Chronomaster open heart blue dial on a bracelet.
I have number 21! Or at least I will have when the bracelet is swapped by Zenith which is happening now. It’s a stunning watch and I’m surprised there wasn’t more demand in the first day of sale tbh.
What's Wei Koh wearing for the interview? I wish Mr. Tornare commented about the future of Zenith vs Hublot. It pains me to see/read about Zenith playing 2nd fiddle to the Hublot watches...
@@FT-ho6cb they have both been been a part of LVMH for quite some time. But unfortunately during JC Biver's reign as head of LVMH watch division, he built the hierarchy where Hublot is the top dog in the pack (not surprising being that he revived Hublot) followed by Zenith, then Tag Heuer (maybe even tag is above Zenith). So very unfortunate...
Excellent conversation! I start liking what Zenith is doing special this model, but please don't fall in the Speedmaster trap.To many limited editions...
Love those designs but why does so many releases have to be a limited edition nowadays, the original vintage models were never limited - this is a new phenomena to create a sense of exclusivity and this concept of artificial collectables but I think its the wrong way to go long term, put it this way I could do the same in my business but choose not too, in fact we give a certain proportion away for free and price to be accessible as possible - sorry to be negative just my frustrations
It is important too. Zenith has to do it to "some" degree, because you want to create a balance. Many many many people buy a certain watch with a crown on it ONLY because it holds value (wear it for free), so Zenith has to steal some of that perception and create that demand. As Julien said, its a luxury business.
@@RevolutionWatch A simple no nonesense steel watch with a date, like AP Royal Oak of Rolex DJ. I don't understand why JLC of Zenith don't just make their everyday steel watch. A slim caliber in a slim case (at many sizes) and at least 50m wr for peace of mind. A threaded crown to protect the crown stem. Some day maybe😤🙏
This was recorded quite a while ago, not sure it’s fair to judge. Wei Koh is now at home in Singapore self isolating and had been in London for the best part of a week before that (all can be seen from his insta). In other words this was recorded around the time of the watches launch about 3 weeks ago I would guess. When most people were not even giving this a proper thought. In fact on a stream I did someone said I was schizophrenic because I was taking it seriously and predicting downed flights and closed Cinemas etc. These guys were ahead of the curve at the time this was recorded IMO.
If i may speak freely.. they can do a lot better.. the reason you made 1000 pieces back in the 70s was because you didn't think you could sell more ..if you thought you could sell more you would make 100k ..dont say you need courage too make limited pieces ..these days people with 200 followers on instagram make 10 pieces who are not even watch maker's and sell them in a few hours .. the designs are long way away from ever being enjoyable too the human mind.. yeah you can suck in the rich ..but you can not suck in a poor person.. too be great you need too make a person who has no money say i wish i had that watch ..that is greatness ..not making whatever and having your fan clubs buy shit from you out of pitty .. anyway's time will tell and you will see what i wrote is true and use will soon enough change the design
It was great meeting you two guys and Adam here in my home town. Hamilton-Juan

Very inspiring talking! Bravo for the Revival A3818!

Jim Jones didn't they say that watch is limited to 100 pieces?
Zenith El Primero will always be one of the best movement ever produced and any collector should have at least one in their collection.
amazing interview as always Mr. Koh!

Awesome video Wei! really enjoyed it :)
Fantastic interview with two fine gents. Boy I wish I could get a Cover Girl
Good stuff, Wei! Congrats on the CoverGirl.
awesome content when you're bored and locked at home ! Thanks Wei !
Beautiful, really like the revival model!
The king of chronograph 👌🏻👌🏻

Has Hublot purchased Zenith?...

Sweet!

Man I wish they would make a non cronograph version of that lovely case size.
Interesting idea 🤔

Jo!
Anyone know, where from the word “girl” in the name of the watch, came from?
They need to make the A386 in steel as a revival rather than keeping it in a 50th anniversary 3 piece special edition box ;(
Sorry but mr. Tornare doesn’t understand a bit of the Covid-19 outbreak

They need a new marketing director
Behind Wei Koh; is that a marvelous Bucciali TAV-8 Saoutchik with hideous rims? Looks a bit too low. 🤔

Wtf are you on about these watches are beautiful, have you tried a revival on? They look amazing in person.
Would have loved to hear more from Mr. Tornare in the interview. Instead more of a monologue by the interviewer.
8100 just for a dial and lume.. great..... 😂 no new machine no antimagnetic no anti shock..
