Chapman still got the heat but I’m impressed ohtani put the bat on all his strikes, barely missed that homer. Dudes only 23 crazy to think how good he is already and how much better he could get

I'd like to see how Ohtani does against Chapman these days. I'm a big fan of both, but I'm inclined to believe Chapman will dominate Ohtani for the most part.
Even though he grounded out, it's still impressive being that it was lefty on lefty vs one of the hardest throwers in baseball. And he didn't swing and miss at any pitch, Ohtani is not only great for baseball but also the future of baseball.
@@XenonSwift I wanna say this comment of mine from 5 years was a safe bet but I’m more than happy that I was right. Ohtani has been better than advertised

We have not seen it yet but from what I hear Ohtani plays a pretty good right field too. Imagine the type of creativity a team could have if they had two Ohtani's.
For most people, probably yeah. He's doing something really unique in being an amazing pitcher and being an amazing batter at the same time, so people are extremely excited. :)

The great writer doris kearnes Goodwin once observed how thrilling it is to observe the battle between a pitcher and hitter. She said the two people are dueling and Chapman vs ohtani is a little like doc Holliday vs the Sundance kid. Pure speed vs raw power. Chapman has a fastball that compares to the best ever, yet ohtani is all that in a pitcher and a five tool player as well. The sheer extent of this kids physical gifts is frightening.
Ohtani nearly turned that game around in his team's favor in that AB. That's why I was so pissed Scioscia didn't bother using him as a pinch-hitter in the 9th inning of that final game of the home series against the Yankees a few weeks back. Not major leaguers. The average fastball is mid 90s with more and more guys throwing 100+
Chapman just throws faster than average. He used to throw 103 to 105 when he was on the Reds.
They don't always miss. If they don't try to pull, they can be successful. Less is more versus Chapman. Just meet the ball.
