Nice to see that it was all done within Ontario

I remember watching the construction as I crossed the Skyway with my dad as a kid

Between the mid 80s to the late 80s, that was an amazing idea and that gave more lanes for QEW and this help more drivers traveling between Fort Erie and Toronto and vice versa. It's one of Ontario's busiest bridges ever seen.

I remember when I first got to travel over this, it was so cool! Now I've made the trip dozens upon dozens of times, maybe a hundred or more and never thought about the underside of the bridge.
Also I am digging the soundtrack for this, wish it were for sale!

It's so fascinating to watch this and compare it to the modern era where decades of neoliberalism have absolutely gutted the government's ability to actually do things other than give money to the private sector. Look at how much of the design work was done in house at the MTO, they even made a little scale model! The decline of government capacity is absolutely tragic.

I like the original arch bridge structure better than that new one.

That's a lot of in house design work that the MTO doesn't do anymore. Sad :(

I wonder why they didn't dump the steel northbound bridge after this-it seems alot of money to keep painting it
