Thank you so much for sharing this incredible footage. Seeing new clips of Wilt Chamberlain is such a gift, especially since so much of his brilliance on and off the court isn’t widely available. As someone who deeply admires Wilt and his legacy, I can't express enough appreciation for your dedication to bringing these rare moments to fans like me. This was my first time seeing this particular footage, and it brought so much joy and admiration. Your channel is truly special, and I am grateful for the effort you put into honoring Wilt. No doubt, Wilt's Dad and Mom worked really hard at bringing Wilt up to be such a fine young man. Not all people of color can pull themselves up from their bootstraps like this family did. TRIBUTE TO WILT CHAMBERLAIN'S LEGACY
Watching this rare footage of young Wilt Chamberlain is like discovering a hidden chapter in the history of basketball-an absolute treasure trove. The towering giant who would go on to redefine the game is already showing glimpses of his extraordinary talent, athleticism, and raw power. To see Wilt in his formative years, dominating high school games, is nothing short of mesmerizing. The grace with which he moved, the sheer dominance in every play, and the relentless drive to excel were all hallmarks of what would become an illustrious career.
Wilt wasn't just a player; he was an unstoppable force of nature, a trailblazer who shattered records and set new standards that still boggle the mind. His stats are legendary: from the 100-point game to leading the league in scoring and rebounding in ways that players today can only dream of. There's a reason why Wilt's name is often mentioned in the same breath as the greatest of all time. However, what sets Wilt apart isn’t just his on-court achievements but also his off-court intelligence and charisma. In an era where basketball wasn't the lucrative career it is today, Wilt made the most of his educational opportunities, proving that he was not just a physical marvel but also a sharp mind.
Comparing Wilt to modern greats like LeBron James underscores how revolutionary he was. While LeBron is a phenomenal athlete and a smart player, Wilt was in a league of his own. His combination of physical prowess, basketball IQ, and unwavering determination was unparalleled. Watching this high school footage, one can't help but think about how Wilt would have fared in today's game. With modern training, nutrition, and sports science, it’s scary to imagine the heights he could have reached.
Wilt Chamberlain's legacy is more than just numbers and records; it's about the indomitable spirit and the impact he had on the game of basketball. Videos like this are vital in keeping that legacy alive for new generations to appreciate and learn from. Hats off to @FoobasSports for bringing this gem to light and allowing us to witness the greatness of Wilt Chamberlain from the very beginning. This footage is a reminder that legends are not just born; they are meticulously crafted, one game at a time. 🌟🏀
If Wilt played today, he would surely dominate just as he did back then, perhaps even more so. And who knows? Maybe the next Wilt Chamberlain is out there right now, watching this very video, dreaming of the day they, too, can leave an indelible mark on the sport. Let's hope that the future brings us another player who can rival the greatness that Wilt displayed, but until then, we'll continue to marvel at the awe-inspiring legacy he left behind.

Actually, Wilt retired in 1973 when I was 14 years old. So, I saw some younger Wilt. He was the most dominant player ever. Near the end, he would walk up the court on offense instead of jogging. Of course, he also decided not to shoot one year when he led the league in assists. Good thing they did not keep block shot statistics back then because that record would be as unbelievable as his scoring records.

I'm a big Wilt fan, but the 100 point game was a joke. What do I mean?
First off, as we all know, the game wasn't filmed, so we can only go by accounts from the people that were there. Word is, when Wilt got to 70, the fans started changing "WE WANT 100! WE WANT 100". So his teammates decided they were going to get him 100. How did they do that?
      * His teammates refused to score!!! They were passing on open layups just to get the ball to Wilt for more shots.
      * They would quickly foul the other team so they could get the ball back and, you guessed it, give the ball to Wilt so he could score again.
      * There was no reason for him to be in the game near the end, because the team was already up by 20.
      * He took 63 shots! I believe he shot 36 of 63, which is a very good 57%. But 63 shots? Most guys don't put up that many shots in 4 games! If he was 36 of 45, you'd be like, wow, he was unstoppable. He put up a boatload of shots!
Nobody will score 100 today because, simply put, nobody would be allowed to be that selfish! But if the goal was to get 100, I do believe it could be done. But it would be the same thing, where everyone else would refuse to shoot, would be getting their teammate the ball, fouling the other team so they could get the ball back, etc.

Overbrook grad... I have to say, it was surreal hooping in the old gym, having watched footage of Wilt's exploits on that same court. True sports legend and American icon.

Can you imagine Wilt playing in the NBA today? No one would be able to stop him. There're no centers with that kind of power today. No Bill Russell, no Kareen, or Bellamy or Willis Reed with their size and strengh. Not to mention that you can now take four steps and not be called for walking. He'd probably average 60 points and 30 rebounds per game and 10 blocks per including blocking 3 pointers with his speed and athleticism. He was a track star.
