    I did this exact thing with th strong $200 Costco metal shelves. They come with high quality wheels, they're super strong, fully adjustable for choosing shelf height, easily cut down if you want to have lower rolling shelves that fit underneath counters or shorter ones that fit conveniently into a low height, basement or storage unit. And only take about 3 minutes to set up. Highly recommend them!

    I wouldn’t want to clean that glass regularly but the finished product and installation process was fantastic. Job well done!

      I'd be making the kids clean it. Nothing they couldn't handle if they used soap, water, and a long-handled squeegee.
      PS: Chores build character.

    At first didn't like the railing system, due to the lower base railing soldering, then once you place the cap, I ended up feeling different....looooookkkkkk amazinggggg.😊👍🏼👍🏼😍😍😍😍

    Love the look of it! Wonderful to know that the company stands by their product... that's a big win in my book!
    But to be honest! The best part was when you shattered the panel!! And from multiple angles to boot! Now me, I'd take that shattered panel, frame it, do what is necessary to make it structurally sound and hang it where the sun would shine thru it...now that would be cool!

      My thoughts exactly about Viewrail. Thanks so much for watching and I couldn't agree more about the panel. I think I may have to try and incase it in epoxy.

    Plumb, you're looking for plumb on all four sides😅.
    Looks amazing. I just found your channel and am enjoying the content. Very informative but concise which is very much appreciated.
    How is it keeping the glass panels clean? Seems as that would be quite a bit of work.

    The second set of glass makes a beautiful railing. I was wondering why the first set was so smudged and wondered if it had been shipped that dirty or if handling during install had left a bunch of schmooze on the glass. Being defective explained it!

    Gorgeous!! Super-strong, too! That could definitely take a 4-year-old running into it full-tilt, as they're prone to do!
    Not sure if this is the product for me, as I really have nothing interesting to look at from the places I'd want to install it, but I LOVE the sleek, modern look it provides, and it's definitely now on my short-list of products to consider for the front deck reno and rear deck build!
    I'm guessing the panels are actually manufactured on a per-project measurement basis, rather than a pre-made size that you'd have to "make fit?"

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  2 роки тому

      Thanks so much for watching and all the input. Yes the glass is manufactured per project, which is why the glass took a while to get. Best way to do it in order to get the best look possible.

    Does the laminate stand up to strong sun? Does the plastic between the glass get cloudy over time?

  • @GreenPlasticWaterCan

    Stainless fasteners used in/on aluminium... I think you might have to reconsider your rust/oxidation statement. These aluminium post will start to oxidize and the paint will eventually come off.

    I have had really bad luck and hard time with glass shops and after seeing your video I would love to do my glass railing and partition walls myself. Any help or advice from you would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

    it looks like that is very expensive and will require a lot of maintenance.....if i dont have small kids, i prefer those stainless cable or rod type railings

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely not a cheap railing but it sure is beautiful and well made. I love the cable and rod railing look as well. We'll see how much maintenance this one requires down the road :) Thanks so much for watching.

    But aren’t those rubber grommets a safety feature, separating the glass from fasteners. I hope the second set of glass had the holes in the correct place. I also hope you backchared for all the extra labor.

  • @jeffbguarino
    @jeffbguarino Рік тому

    Did they pay you for the labor when you had to replace every piece of glass ? The new glass looks great but how can you recommend this company when they sent you bad glass the first time ?

      I do Jerry but please keep in mind that there is a reason for it.
      I love what I do for a living because I’m trying to help others learn how to build in an entertaining way. In my opinion most diy channels out there are more about entertaining their audience and not providing detailed nuances on why they’re doing what they’re doing. The narration is specifically in mind to help people auditorily learn why I’m doing things and not just visually. Thanks for watching and if my talking is too much just put me on mute. I won’t be offended haha :)
