  • this the mission where you have to sink HMS Warspite and Survive Oncoming destroyers so here is a bit about the HMS Warspite.
HMS Warspite was a Queen Elizabeth-class battleship built for the Royal Navy during the early 1910s. Her thirty-year career covered both world wars and took her across the Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Pacific Oceans. She participated in the Battle of Jutland during the First World War as part of the Grand Fleet. Other than that battle, and the inconclusive Action of 19 August, her service during the war generally consisted of routine patrols and training in the North Sea.
She was involved in several major engagements, including battles in the North Sea and Mediterranean, earning her the most battle honours ever awarded to an individual ship in the Royal Navy and the most awarded for actions during the Second World War. For this and other reasons Warspite gained the nickname the "Grand Old Lady" after a comment made by Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham in 1943 while she was his flagship.
When she was launched in 1913 the use of oil as fuel and untried 15-inch guns were revolutionary concepts in the naval arms race between Britain and Germany, a considerable risk for Winston Churchill, then First Lord of the Admiralty, and Admiral John Fisher who had advocated the design. However, the new "fast battleships" proved to be an outstanding success during the First World War. Warspite was refitted twice between the wars, but advances in technology and the cumulative effects of battle damage relegated her to the role of shore bombardment towards the end of the Second World War. Decommissioned in 1945, she ran aground under tow in 1947 on rocks near Prussia Cove, Cornwall, and was eventually broken up nearby.

2:25 That’s actually Queen Elizabeth not Warspite. You can tell by the upper portion of her forward tower, the fact that she has QF 4.5-inch BD Mk II secondary guns and no casemate 6-inch Mk XII guns which also means her deck doesn’t angle inward broadside like Warspite and instead remains straight. Also in WW2, Warspite had the 4-inch Mk XVI as her secondaries as well as the aforementioned casemates. Also Warspite’s masts were the only WW2 QE to not have tripod masts and opted for making them straight instead for Warspite, but here it looks like they’re tripod. Good work Silent Hunter 5, you put QE and slapped Warspite’s name on her xD

You know warspite is. Queen elizabeth class right?

@@shinji5831 Yeah, but QE having the casemates removed and the 4.5-inch guns and that exact forward structure rebuild was only done with 2 ships of the class (QE and Valiant), Warspite was a testbed for the modernization structure hence why hers looks different from theirs.
Just because they’re the same class doesn’t mean they look exactly the same. Compare Arizona to Pennsylvania in WW2 era, they look completely different as well. Do some research.

It's still queen Elizabeth class no matter what B)

@@shinji5831 Yeah, but that doesn’t mean a Queen Elizabeth-class battleship with 10 twin 4.5” guns is actually Warspite. Warspite NEVER mounted those. She had 4 twin 4” Mark XVIs and had several casemate-mounted 6” guns. Anything else is wrong. You can EASILY see that the model used in the video IS NOT WARSPITE, just by looking at any WW2 era photo of her.
Ship classes are only the same as built, they all don’t get the same modernizations over time. Barham and Malaya are evidence of that. How about you research the class before making a fragile argument that has no value.

The British Destroyers have a weird habit of sinking at 90 degree angles and exploding and going down 50 feet per second 😒

Its funny as the 3d model is that of either valiant or queen Elizabeth as warspite had a different AA armament ant kept her casemate guns
