Fascinating video.! This flight reproduces part of the epic one(s) made by test pilot Harald Penrose in 1936, in his tiny 10 m glider, the Pegasus. ( described in his book, 'No Echo in the Sky'). Penrose got as far as Osmington Mills , landing near the Smugglers Inn pub. Anyone who flies this route has a lot of nerve...well done!
Thanks Andrew - I've just purchased, look forward to reading it. I'm sure it was easier on my machine! I have gone further west than Osmington (a mile or so across Weymouth), but have also landed on the beach near the Smugglers Inn at Osmington; it was one of my most perilous landings in 45 years of hang gliding. I did pull it off, but an n-20 secs was sure I was going home in an ambulance - not a nice feeling!
That camera contraption is, uh, different 😅 Lovely footage Nev. I remember visiting Lulworth Cove years ago and thinking to myself "This would make for some awesome flying !". This was actually years before I got my HG license...

Amazing!
I flew there a few hours after you, strange day. Great swoop landing and foot drag.

Thanks for sharing, definitely twitching on your behalf as you came around the no land beach.
Amazing.....very nice camera angle. Which Atos is that? VR?
I hope someday, I will own a rigid wing...
Thanks, yes, it's a VR. They are very pleasing to fly...
Did you have to carry the glider up those steps to the car park?
I did (with help from Gary). A bit of effort but no big deal really.........
