Brings back many, many memories, especially in the Catskill Mountains (New York State) where there were plenty of rocks and roots to send one of the handle bars into the operator's gut....SLAM. Never been a machine quite like it that would prepare such a nice planting medium and at an unusual depth. Powerful and not exhausting to operate. Cut my teeth on one as a teen 65 years ago and wish I could run one again.
You can't beat those old Gravely's, regardless of the attachment! When they have the reciprocating blade attachment on them, they can't be beat for tearing flat roofs off! Too bad you can't find anything new today that is as reliable as those old Gravely's!
Does anyone feel as though this is something worth building a few of ? Have a feeling might be tricky to get past the OSHA safety requirements though !
Back when these were built it was just taken for granted that if you were adult enough to use a piece of equipment, then you actually had enough sense to not put your fingers in the moving mechanical parts. Today, unfortunately, people are so stupid that "big brother" has to mandate all those yellow safety stickers to save people from themselves. Those yellow stickers are one of my pet peeves. I think we should just remove all of them and let the process of natural selection take its course.
This is a home made device ; the special hub to attach the four left spade blades, as well as the rotation lever and its 6mm thick locking plate are built by myself.
@@gfl5347 Extremely impressed ! Would you be willing to shoot another video showing the details of the attachment better please ? Specifically the 6mm. locking plate. I have enough surplus rotary plow parts otherwise to be able to build my own as well ! A fuel saver as much as a significant time saver !
Sir, could you post a video or plans on your invention? I would be very interested in copying your invention or having you make one for me. Ingenious, my hats off to you sir.
Guy
Good idea, neat contraption. I used to start down the center of the garden, that way I didn’t have to walk back to the other end.

I’ve never seen one of these flip like that! Very impressive
Finally! Someone who knows how to properly set up a rotary plow.
A GREAT demonstration of the Gravely "2 way, or Hillside plow"!
my favorite era of gravely. great looking machine.
What a time saver. I've been looking for a left-hand prop for my rotary but they're apparently rare as hen's teeth.
Only one pass required! No need for a plow pass then disc pass, or banging away with multiple passes on a rototiller!! Awesome.
Yup, just another reason why Gravely was great.
This is why I believe that they are no longer being built. Way to reliable
Sweet ! Best tractor ever built !!
Wonderful job on the fabrication seems to work exceptionally well
I love this..nice controlled. strait... And not like many others rung and going all over the place...
Wow that works great! Why didn't Gravely think of that?
I would love to have a garden like that !
I would love a dual rotary plow!
🙌 gravely , had one between 1975- 1982 made a lot of $ part time MOWING with sickle blade , easy to maintain.
What year and type of gravely are you using here?
A pretty slick idea.

That's an awesome bit of engineering Guy! Well done! Do you have plans to produce these or is this a "one and done" for yourself?
Remember, these were designed and built before trial lawyers. But mostly, we had common sense back then too
That's amazing!!!

I want a 5660 so bad. I cant wait until i find one.
Very nice tractor i like it. How to builed that?
I am looking to purchase one of this gravely plow and seeking I am seeking any address to make Contact; Thank you for your assistan. appreciated
Great job
Was this original gravely equipment,? Or is it fabricated at home? Either way it's real cool. Never seen this before

This is NOT a homemade device! It is a relatively rare Gravely produced "2 way, or Hillside" plow

You can see some pictures here : ua-cam.com/video/DJlf9q-ScmI/v-deo.html
It is NOT his invention! That is a Gravely factory produced 2 way, or hillside plow!
Never seen that option before, in todays world safety would never allow that upright turning plow
now that I like is this your turning fall growing so it been tilled

I guess the plow never signed a waver, so they had to mosaic the video out.
OK
Can you make me a dual rotary plow?
these days OSHA would outlaw that plow
