- This is an exclusive first impression/overview of the grind king locker trucks! Grind king graciously sent me these trucks to review for you guys! Once I saw these trucks, I knew I had to try them! As you will see they did not disappoint. The set I sent is size 8.5 which is slightly smaller than I usually Skate, but it worked. Overall, I’m super hyped on these trucks and I am not even mad about the 50-50 on the rail…..lol check out grind king trucks at @GrindKingTruckCo and follow me on Instagram at @ etangmcwang
Thank you for watching you rule

@galvanizedgnome 😂🙌thank you
Great review of the new GKs. Sick curb sesh. First review I've seen that shows off all the features of the truck, doesn't blame them for missed tricks. And congratulations for being the first yter whose brain doesn't malfunction over the Rocket Bolts. Thanks!
Typical youtube wont let me like the vid ..
Best grindking vid. Stepped bushing and wheel base options straight from bear trucks. If anything like then will give better stability if do some light downhill on your street deck.
Audio at beginning might lose some people but it improves a little in - should have cut that bit further into the clip with an audio massage.
Great stuff
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Sorry about the audio I’ve been having issues I will do my best in the future!!!
Dude!!! Killer Review and you got us all wanting to Grind these beauties. Cant wait for mine to arrive🙏🏻❤️🛹🎄
what are you going to set up on them "deck" wise? and what size did you get your hands on?
@@DagnerJayson appreciate that dagner! I’m stoked to see what you think of them in the future!!! Merry Christmas /happy holidays man🎄🎅
@ Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend. Looking forward to a future sesh one day👊🏻❤️🛹
@ I got the Orange 8.75’s and I plan on setting them up on a
Vision Gonz OG 10”
Krooked Gonz 9.81
Winkowski 10.34
Chico BB9CLUB
SC E.DRESSEN 9”
And a Primitive FV 9.125 Egg👌🏻
Shredding!
Cannot wait for mine. I was one of the internationals that missed out but GK, Don and Ryan are great people. Got me all hooked up.
Love those oldschool GK's you got there. Im 40 and just got back into skating last year after 2 decades but when I was young those where the ONLY truck I skated.
Awesome vid dude. They look so sexy.
Sweet Shredding!! Awesome review they look super good on that setup too pretty damn stoked about em hell yeah!!
I felt this was a honest first impression. Thank you. I ordered the 8.75. we will see how they do me. I am excited to try them.
Yes ... this is gonna be sweet .... 🥳😎
Trucks are looking clean and buttery💯
Props for going for the 50/50 on a new set up🤙
Appreciate you man! Going for the 50/50 was a little sketch haha they surprised me Forsure!
Epic slam. Great review. Those crooked grinds looked really good
@@DrivingandDelivering thanks man! Lol that was a hefty slam haha
Thanks for the great review on the GK Lockers, they've got me interested and I think they'll end up with a really good truck after some testing and the final design tweeks are sorted. As a truck and machinery engineer I love seeing the new innovations in truck design GK are putting into their product.
I think it was Bennett? truck company from the 70's that had a baseplate with multiple wheelbase options very similar to the Locker design.... I agree with your statement "all trucks should have this option". Trucks should have had that feature as an option since ever then.
I’m really glad you like the Locker design, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, adjustable wheelbases are the future! It makes a huge difference!
great review!!im covinced!! this is REG GUY!!
This is the best review of these I’ve seen. I’m actually excited to try them now!
same solid review. solid slam tooo makes it more real!
@@brucetheukuleleteacher9008 i appreciate that!!!!
They look like Lego bionicles. If they weren’t so extra and obscenely over the top with their appearance I might have some faith that these could potentially shake up the meta and force the big names to take them seriously and develop their own answer to this audacious offering by the fearless visionaries over there at GK headquarters, but I feel like no matter how revolutionary they may be, they’re way too much for anyone who has any hang ups about aesthetics, which in skateboarding matters a great deal. Oh and I hate rails too, man ✊
agree 100 percent!
Independent and Thunder/Venture, & ACE! are all Hard to Beat!
Slappy is easily mentionable too.
If These trucks looked less extreme! they would get more attention/support long term.
Because they look extreme they will get less support, unless they turn out to be good.
I honestly think its pretty ground breaking! The Bushings idea, 3 of them? crazy! sounds practical tho!
the baseplate having all those holes? that seems problematic.
I personally Consulted with Indy Trucks in 2023 and Ojs/Slimeballs.
all my ideas came to "market this year in 2024."
And they one Ideas i gave them that they didn't release would have been the biggest!!!! with the most attention!
"Independent 215's in Hollow Forged with Hollow Inverted "Kingpins that are titanium!"
then they didn't do it fast enough and Slappy beat them to it Released Hollow Kingpin 10in trucks. but not hollow inverted and not titanium Kingpins.
For me products need to Innovate slowly but where its (needed in the industry, based on demand by the skate community)
@@dadboard 😂😂😂 fr they got some type look and bro I know I saw ur recent vid skating the rail too 😂😂😂 we both slammed too hard and also nah i totally get it. I never realized how important the shape of the truck is for the look but these are definitely the wildest looking truck I’ve skated. Tho if you can get past the wild ass look the trucks skate undoubtedly good. Dadboard you rule ! One of my main inspirations! 🙌
@TRAVIESO_NA Titanium is too brittle to use as a fastener/bolt.
@@TRAVIESO_NA spitting facts bro!
@dadboard I love the Bionicle reference😉 I agree with your perspective. I ordered a pair so I’m excited to see how they function. I’m hyped on the custom wheelbase option I wonder how that affects the pop.
Thanks bro 🎉🎉🎉
Appreciate the love!
ripping those thangs!!
Nice review. Now let's see you axel them!
When you take that bushing out the hanger come closer together, effectively changing your whelvase shorter, if those trucks are adjustable wheel base you could push them farther away a notch. 😊
Hell yeah dude! Thank you for the great videos and have a great holiday season bro
Thanks bro, I appreciate that! Merry Christmas!🎄🎁
Ripping bro, that rail slam was gnar. Id almost always rather slip out heel side. I've had some hard slams slipping out toe side. Keep us updated on the durability, i know you burn through trucks hella quick. Merry Christmas!
Thanks man! I'm planning on putting them through the paces for sure, I'll let yall know how they hold up! Merry Christmas !!!!🎄🎁
Grind King AXL’s were my favorite trucks back in the day
Keep em coming etang!
🫡🫡🫡
That grip tape is 🔥🔥🔥
What brand of grip tape is that? Looks cool
Pvblic domain shoutout to my girl for the grip!
merry Skatemas! Etang!
@@TRAVIESO_NA appreciate it trav! Merry skatemas !!!
Sick dude!
They should use your tricks for a grind king add for these trucks
That would be sick!!!!
His crooks style is sick🤙
These look like fun trucks, the bowing curve of the middle part of the hanger would make you slide sideways more during a 5050 and get into the dip groove harder, which may lead to spontaneous loss of lock in and will dump you on the ground…but for everything else, it seems a good design… I would still prefer to wear in my indys
Yeah the design is pretty unique! But it’s like every grind has been thought about in the design so it skates very well for grinds straight out of the box. I’m excited to have my friends try skating these in transition and rails! I’ll be putting them to the test
@ yeah, 5050 on a round rail would be the only challenge, everything else looks fun! try grinding the middle flat and it should improve!
another quality video, i need to learn slappy grinds so bad (im bad at skating)
i have 3 sets of old grindkings from the '90s-'00s, and a few other kinds of trucks with gk kingpins. the clearance on my stage V indys is insane, the top of the kingpin is below the axle that peeks though the hangar behind kingpin
Dang stage 5s sounds perf haha
@@ETANGSKATES yeah, they're old. like '88 i think. 149s. i had to drill the new bolt pattern in the baseplates
@@diplenski I've also still got a pair of barely used Indy stage V's and I love how they ride/grind whenever I skate the board they're on. Sadly their only little 139's (8.0") so they're set up on an 8.0" board I only ever use for skating in the wet. I wish they were 149's or 159's
Thanks for the great review on the GK Lockers, they've got me interested and I think they'll end up with a really good truck after some testing and the final design tweeks are sorted.
@@Wolfdog2 i have a few sets of 139 stage XI. i didn't used to grind much, especially not on concrete, so a lot of my gear from the '90s-'00s survived and is still in my parts bin. i usually ride 8-8.25" popsicles or 9"+ on shapes, i don't own any trucks over 149 but most are smaller. my primary board is an 8" with 5.0(7.65") venture lows from the '90s. i like trucks a little tucked but with a wider wheel, like a radial shape
@@ETANGSKATES the stage 5 are the ones I think Geoff Rowley still skates. lol all he will skate. its the stage 5s or 7s idk.
i think you were going a little to slow hope your ok now from that fall, i love those base plates on how you can choose your wheel base
the g5 highs are my favorite, but all my old ones are only like 7.65". they make good stuff. i thought the rocketbolts look cool
The rocket bolts are sick
I have those exact same oldd grind kings u have and was wondering if i could swap the hangar on the locker’s baseplate.
Sadly they are rusted I’ve tried to take the kingpins from them before and they won’t budge. I’d imagine they might fit haha good question also sick
If possible, have some thoughts on 50-50-ing copings. Will they get you stuck on those like the MiniLogo curved hangers? I’m guessing not because the grooves seem to be big and on the rught spot.
WHAT SIZE BOARD AND TRUCK COMBO?YOU LOOK REAL COMFORTABLE WITH THEM SUPER LOOSE,WISH I COULD GET USED TO THAT,good looking krookeds man wow, also liking your low style flips (sorry for caps)
Not gonna lie, was on the fence if I liked these or not. But I think I'm going to get a set. Do they come in 9" ?
I think so also potentially 10inch!!!! I would be super interested in some larger sized versions! Thank man
I want a set so bad rn😭 when are they gonna release them?
Right now they are releasing them in batches but I’d imagine in 2025 they should be available for purchase!
made me feel old saying those trucks were from your dad's board 😭i missed that on first watch
Do you know if they plan on making trucks for 9.5 or 10” wide boards?
I’d love to try them out but I don’t think they’re guna last in the long run
Looks like they tried to reinvent the truck, I would have thought someone would come out with a new 11 inch wide truck for all them heroin boards.
Sendin good vibes from socal 🤘
Thanks mane! Yeah fr 11 inch trucks will be nice I think slappy will be the first to come out with the 11s I will be putting these grind kings to the test so far so good very surprising!
GK is making trucks over 10" next.
@@ETANGSKATES the slappy curb killers are my go to right now fingers crossed for some
@@vorpalblades I don’t think so but never know, halfto wait and see 😊
@@LiLNuBZz They've already been announced, Thunderbirds.
I believe 10" to 12".
randomly clicked forward to 11:30 ouch lool
So you think you could skate then super tite without them loosening ?
Indy mids would never stay tite for me
@@leamon2501I think they’ll stay tight with the grind king kingpin. I think the hex head on Indy’s catches a little on ledges and slowly works its way loose. I bet a grind king or thunder inverted kingpin, since they are smooth would stay tight even on Indy’s.
@@Herb_St thanks
Love your videos but bro you need a mic the audio quality is terrible
No issues for me
Yeah, the camera mic ain’t the best, I'm trying to upgrade!
Bro for the lords sake buy a friggin mic 😂 your audio is horrible
