Great review. I was debating whether to get the Air or GT line but I think your review has helped on the way forward. Should get mine in 4 weeks. Can’t wait!
Oh really that is interesting. Thanks for sharing. I’ve heard people have moved across from landrover too. To grab hold of an EV9! Thanks for the comment and chatting with us 🤗
Great review. Getting an Air in Aurora red mid October. Having owned a smaller EV for 2 years I have no problem whatsoever getting a larger car. Not for everyone, but if it suits a particular lifestyle then why not?
This is tough to compare across regions. This Air makes it sound like the USA Wind with the rear bench, but it's got the power of the Light Long Range and the features of the Land... Wish we could pick the options versus have only a few preset options
Hey no worries. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Honestly the AIR trim is more than enough and I didnt miss the extra power or AWD. Thanks for chatting to us 🤗
@@CarChatTV in my country they call 1st edition it’s the rwd version long range … it has all the specs unless the roof glass / remote park assist / the matrix lights / 21inch wheel ( it means it has the 19inch wheel) … the rest it’s identical to the gt line and less 8,500€ in price ! Has you know it has more range but less power. For a family car I don’t need too much power .. power for me is cars like Ferrari 😉
Was waiting to see what people made of the air trim. Drove the GT-S line and loved it but whilst all trims are affordable for me I just think that the Air makes more sense.
This one is lithium silver. Almost had a mother of Pearl look to it. But it’s the most popular colour the Kia reps say. Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment 🤗
@@CarChatTV that’s really helpful thanks. I’ve got one more question/challenge for you. You mentioned that the air comes with a one year subscription to the remote parking assist but I can’t find out anywhere how much it will be after the first year. Do you know or even have a ball park idea?
Lobster claw? haha, what I see is with the 2 lights combined, a football/rubgy goal you hold with your fingers when playing paper football. I think Nebula and Tony Stark play it at the beginning of Avengers Endgame. Makes me wanna flick some paper at the back of the car. 😂
Great review, thank you. I’m leaning towards the Air as well, as I can’t see £8k of value in going for the GT-Line. My only concern is the ‘in gear’ acceleration (in old skool language!). How does the lack of power affect the car on steep hills or, more importantly, accelerating from 40-70mph when joining a motorway? The rest of the time this will be a family load lugger, so excess performance is a negative, not a positive. No one wants sick children in the back! So, what’s your experience?
Hey Barry thanks so much for the comment. I found with my experience with the “Air” trim you don’t need the extra power. It still pulls really well. We had some heavy camera equipment in the back and one passenger. So I couldn’t really tell you what it’s like when it’s fully packed. But I don’t think the £8k warrants to go up to GT line trim. Sure if you have the money and really want AWD and more power. But this Air trim is deffo my pick. Can’t really fault it, and looks great too! Thanks for leaving us a comment and chatting with us 🤗
The US spec cars have a different light cluster on the front. Much cooler. The top spec one beeps and bongs constantly and if you switch it off, when you start the car again default setting out them all back on.
@@CarChatTV I wanted the 2wd but it didn’t come with the adaptive cruise and it isn’t an option. Went for the 6 seat but those bongs and beeps when you drive Are annoying for the safety features which are on as a default every time you drive. It’s replacing the GLS63 Which I loved but the insurance was eye watering . Went up from £1900 to £6400 just because of all the car crime in my area. I’m a bit jealous of the US spec versions. You should see the different light clusters on the front. Plus only one colour option for seats in Uk. In US you can get black/blue. Comes with 5 year warranty, 8 year battery warranty and 2 years free servicing
You've picked the wrong person here Ollie. It's true that I'm thinking of upgrading from gas to electric, but I was talking about the lighting and heating in my home.
The only noise you will hear from this car is the £££’s as it will be worthless and redundant in 3 years when you want to trade it in, if indeed you will be able to get rid of it. The stats of EV sales will drop off a cliff. What a shame cos with a petrol or diesel in it, it would sell loads.
Ollie!!! So fun to see you outside of the Bingo room! - TheProblm

Cancelled my Q8 e-tron and ordered the EV9 GT Line S in black, it's a beast, can't wait for it to be delivered.

Thanks for this - been debating which trim, difference just over £100pm on payments - think I'll go for the cheaper Air trim.

i ordered 2 days ago the ev 9 as like the white one that you reviewed . can't wait for it.
Wow that’s Awsome. What trim level did you go for? Thanks for sharing and leaving us a comment 🤗

Hi Alice, yes exactly for the money this just makes more sense to me too, it’s the one I would 100% go for!
What colour is this car please, I can’t tell if it’s white or lithium silver? Struggling to pick a colour before I order!

That would be nice would it

Hey Mark, thanks for leaving a comment and sharing your thoughts about the car. I’m guessing you won’t be buying an electric car any time soon?
Weird that I can't buy, say, the EV6 used super cheap? Hmmm
Try Autotrader there’s only 230 available at half price of a new one at 3 years old. 🤦🏻♂️
@@markknight8560 yes, 50% deprec at 3 years was considered fairly normal long before EVs arrived.
