The IVC developed in close proximity of the volatile, horse mounted warring Andronovo/ Sintashta/yamnaya/Steppe nomadic pastorolist culture. The growing possibility of an invasion was a constant threat to Harappan life. When the threat became imminent the IVC decided on a systematic evacuation of the valley, a move consistent with the peaceful IVC philosophy on life, the absence of arms and a standing army. Recent excavations have confirmed the absence of human remains consistent with an invasion at the time . Any invasion was preempted by timely evacuation of the valley, followed by migration east and south.. In due course it is believed that the IVC inhabitants mixed with native hunter gatherers to become the ASI of today
The Indus Valley was a wondrus indigenous urban Civilization that flourished between 2600bc and 1900bc. Seems the Indian subcontinent was inhabited by homo-erectus and denizovans, when the homosapiens from Africa entered. So, then also there would have been a great deal of conflict and "displacement" of indigenous population! Talk about ethnic cleansing! 😃 Were the 'vanaras' of Ramayana the non-sapiens, perhaps?
