Consciousness exists as existence and as That which perceives existence. Therefore, there is only Consciousness.

UGK said: There's no way out.
      There's no place to escape.
So, yes, there's only Consciousness being Aware that all is an illusion.
But, the Truth is that "our" True Essence is beyond Consciousness.
An experience that I had was that I was perceiving a Field of Content (thoughts, images, objects, words, numbers, faces, abstract elements, entities, etc), and I asked: Is that Maya?
And a sweet female voice answered:
      That is Consciousness.
If I was "outside", that made me realize the truth.
Means, that I am beyond Consciousness.

@@carlavela7106 Good afternoon, my friend. I understood what you said. But I have a doubt. If we are beyond consciousness, then how can we be conscious of not being consciousness? I assume that our real Self is, therefore, pure Self-Consciousness Who is aware of Itself as everything that arises in this empty, conscious space.

In the 13 the chapter of Bhagavad Gita, there is the field of activity and the knower of the field. Amongst the elements of 'the field of activity' is something called 'chetana' , so is the 'chetana' the equivalent of 'chidabhasa' (reflected consciousness)?

    • @indianmilitary

Consciousness is an attribute of the athma just like heat is an attribute of fire and the sun. Without it nothing can exist. Consciousness is pulled in within the energy realm by the cosmic life force prana for manifestation to happen since athma is beyond space and time.

Einstein theory of relativity is at level of objective experience...we see one moving and static object...then we know its relativity...but consciousness is subjective experience.....take it this way... there is one substance which creates our living experience...the continuous perpetual experience...that is Atma...that is existence and consciousness itself..

    Dear sir
    Request a video on "JIVA""
Can you please explain " What is JIVA?""
or can you please provide the link about explaination on JIVA, if alredy explained?
Does the JIVA exist always with the mind, intellect, false ego and chitta?
Is the JIVA, a limited consiousness or a part of consiousness?
Is JIVA actually exist as a seperate object like mind, intellect false ego or memory?
Or its only a imaginary thing used only for reference purpose?

Jiva is nothing but conditioned athma which falsely identifies with thoughts and body due to the experience of senses even though it is not the doer. TAT TVAM ASI.

How can I ask questions to swamiji? I have a question that needs answering:
I was wondering about sakshi today or the witness cosnciousness and I want to straight out say that I don't know what to make of it. Consider memories, thoughts and sensations: they are all parts of what we cal lthe mind. However vedanta says that the knower and the known are different implying that this mind and its witness are different but is it really so? Is this claim strong enough or backed by anything? Why is it impossible for the mind which forms all kinds of sensations to not have a sensation of 'itself'. The way I see it, the mind has all power to conjure up an image of itself. And that is where the matter would end. However Vedanta insists that this isn't so.
Consider a state of deep meditation or deep sleep: devoid of sensations and perceptions and even memory. A total quietening of the mind. I've been in that state through meditation and what I found is that there is nothing to be observed. I'm unsure if at that point the observer or the witness consciousness even has a meaningful existence. Can we then conclude that the existence of sakshi or the witness is only there when there is an object?
What I'm saying is if someone shines a torch in a room with no walls or objects, can we even conclude that there was a torch there in the first place? How can we be sure?

    • @harshadadeekonda2107
      @harshadadeekonda2107 5 років тому

Who finds it out that there is nothing to be observed? Mind watching itself is introspection. Consciousness is present always when mind is calm or even when in it is introspecting on itself.. Mind according to Vedanta is thoughts, emotions..but we are always aware of what we think and feel..that awareness is being attributed by consciousness. It is an ever shining candle, illumining even the absence of objects or the presence. Mind in other words is nothing but matter which we are always aware of and constituted by ever changing elements or different kinds of emotions, thoughts

May be you are very new to this.
Lectures on Concept of five seathes and then Mandukya Upanidhad and Astavakra Gita might help you to distinguish between the individuality and the consciousness illumining it.
Yes it is a bit hard. But you have already taken the first step by thinking about it and recognizing that you have not fully understand it. If you start getting the concept, you would suddenly realize that there is nothing more easy than this because the consciousness is the real self. This is what makes your every experience possible. But you cannot objectify it because it is you. U can only know and realize that u r that.
I am giving links of some previous lectures which might help you.
