Through the years I’ve worked for guys that would always try to put me in very dangerous sketchy trees. They would always belittle what had to be done blowing smoke up my ass telling me it would be easy for me cause I’m so good they’d say.And most of them had no idea as they weren’t even climbers. August saying “here’s the crane I’m gonna climb that scary dead cottonwood myself” tells y’all everything you need to know about him. A darn good man, much respect! 👍❤️

Adam crushing it on the crane, very smooth!! Well done. Thanks for jumping in that filthy snag August, it's always a treat watching you dismantle a tree!! Well done Beaver Crew!!
Once I saw you're tie in was completely horizontal, I couldn't unsee 👀 it. What an amazing job of managing so many safety issues involved over all operations. Thanks for bringing us along. I did have a thought on camera mounting. Maybe take a gopro chesty mount apart and put the camera mount on you're suspenders. Heck may even be able to add that to the options for deluxe models. Thinking just below the tether.😜

Nice job Adam! Your first real life pick is always nerve racking. It’s good to always have just a little bit if that on every pick. The moment you get too comfortable is when mistakes are made. Great team, thanks for the great videos August.
Your vids August helped inspire me to start a tree company I’ll be getting into more video graphics soon. Thanks for your efforts of filmmaking I’ve watch all of them at least 10 times haha

A Sunday Treat - a new video from you! Thanks. Listen, you are a good man for many reasons. To me, the most important one is 'you would never ask your crew to do something you would not or could not do'. The second, equally important is exploiting the crew to learn and know all facets of the risky job you all do and switching off the tasks to further enforce knowledge. These two things are HUGE and your injury rate (or lack thereof) reflects the education you put into every job. I just love to watch TALENT with the extreme ability to THINK! That would be you guys with you as the leader. Happy New Year to all of you and your families! Sonny (CT)

August needs a reality show ! I have recently found this channel and am enjoying it. My biggest concerns in watching your activities is the close proximity of the chain saw to the ropes.
I think I would have ran down that tree with my tail between my legs after finding that punk and called August to come deal with it. That picture of you and your baby on the crane is enough to put a smile on the Grinch's face.Congrats on the baby Adam! You can tell by the look on his face that he's already got the right attitude :)
What a great way to support your fellow man. Good job Adam!!! and other crew!!! These young guys need a pat on the back when things go right. I think you have a great team. Hello from NC!!!
It's good to see you delegating the crane op job, people need to progress to expand the experience and whew.... That feeling of relief knowing the sketchiest part of the tree is over and you're blocking down the trunk! It's almost a high...... 😉
When you said you would go up the tough tree I was immediately reminded of what Dick Winters of the 101st Airborne said. “If you’re a leader you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones you take the tough ones too”. I really enjoy watching your films Mr. Hunicke.
Another great team effort! August, I've climbed Poplars in the same condition and having a nearby tree to tie into is always something I look for..... but it's not always available. 😜 Thanks for another great video and mostly for the commentary sharing your thoughts as you work on dismantling that snag. In Today’s episode August “Big Balls” Hunicke climbs a Sketchy Tree 🌲 🌳
It helps balance the weight.
Lots of poplar here in Indiana(state tree)
If I had to pick a species of tree to climb at its “point of no return” it’d be poplar. They’re solid in the middle years after shedding its bark. Like you said “spongy” on the outside, in my experience solid center.
I climbed a sassafras recently that was almost dead. Very solid and the woodpeckers hadn’t got to it, which told me it didn’t have carpenter ants either. So I’m climbing thinking I wonder what actually killed it?? Get to the nearly the top, where a vertical branch had broken years ago and it rotted and had completely hollowed out 10’+ below me. Ahhh. Guess I’ll cut it here then.
