Luke Skywalker is known as the guy who walked into a room with the emperor and Darth Vader and walked out dragging Darth Vader on the floor. That’s one hell of a reputation to leave behind.
30:37 The pink droid is R2-KT - she was created for the daughter of the 501st Legion (a Star Wars cosplay charity group)'s founder. The little girl, Katie, had terminal cancer, and she wanted a droid to watch over her, so members of the R2 builder's group created R2-KT for her. R2-KT now is taken to hospitals and charity events and has been included in a number of scenes through various Star Wars media (notably this and Clone Wars).
RIP Han Solo. It was actually Harrison Ford's wish that his character died. He asked to die in the original trilogy as well, to not survive the carbonite, but since Han was so popular, they brought him back anyway. So here, he finally got his wish.
That man wanted Han Solo to die from the moment he read the first script. 😂He did an incredible job of creating a beloved character in a series he had no love for
So the "Original Vader" was actually played by 4 people: -James Earl Jones provided the voice -David David Prowse did the physical acting -Sebastian Shaw was the face of Vader in Return of the Jedi -Bob Anderson did his fight scenes (fun fact: he also was the sword trainer for Lord of the Rings)
If they didn't know or remember that Starkiller Base is Ilum. You go there in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Ilum was the place that the Jedi would go to get their kyber crystals. There was also a Clone Wars episode that younglings went there to get their kyber crystals also.
They finished Fallen Order without revisiting Ilum, so they didn't see the reveal once the snowstorm cleared, but they'd probably not have realised regardless.
fun fact: the actor who plays the storm trooper that Rey mind tricks into removing her restraints, leave and drop the gun, is played by Mr. Bond himself, Daniel Craig.
So Kylo's lightsaber needs the side vents, and is so crackling and distorted, because when he was bleeding his crystal to make it red, Kylo poured so much hatred into it that it cracked. His original hilt broke when he first ignited it and needed to add the side vents to control the excess power
@@MrMan2006nah, more like Vader had his hatred set and balanced making the perfect bled crystal. As for Kylo his emotions were just sent everywhere and he caused it too crack
It's worse if you account the fact that it's Gwendolyn Christie in the armor. She could have been so much more. And then they delete the best scene portraying her and Finn in TLJ.
Then you have no clue about Boba Fett. Underwhelming??? Yeah right. Go read some of the cannon books and comics. THEN, tell me he is underwhelming. lol
@@nielgregory108 He is underwhelming in the movies. Most people do not know about the expanded universe and the way you are behaving does not help in promoting it. Also knowing what kind of a guy Boba is in the Expanded Universe makes his movie performance even more underwhelming
35:36 "How is she figuring this out??" One of the biggest complaints that made an interesting character not work as well. There's no development on that.
How I understand it, she knew from when Kylo used the force on her, that you can use the force to mess with peoples minds, so she figured that maybe she could make the guard untie her. So like the other user said, she didn't know that this was a force-ability, but she guessed that it might be possible. You don't need to "learn" the force. A jedis training to use the force isn't like lifting weights in a gym. You are not training a muscle, you are training your mind and self-esteem. Remember when Yoda lifted Lukes X-Wing from the swamp in Empire? Luke: "I don't believe it!" Yoda: "That is why you fail." Luke didn't fail because he was too weak or didn't have enough experience, but because he didn't believe it was possible for him to move such a heavy object. He deemed the task impossible and so it was. That's a reocurring theme in Star Wars: in order to use the force, you have to believe that you can do it. And that's how Rey could do that mind trick or defeat Kylo in the end. She simply opened her mind and choose to believe in herself and the force.
The fact she didn't have to actually train to become the most powerful Jedi ever is such a cop out. A few year time skip would have at least made sense. Also would have been better to be Obi-Wans secret daughter imo
@aspiringplant8104 she's actually connected to someone else. I won't say who just in case. And also, we've seen plenty of media where people just find out they "have powers" and are learning to use them on the spot without training. I don't see why it's any different with star wars.
Fun fact! The storm trooper that was mind controlled by Rey was played by Daniel Craig. The modern James Bond! The writing on his suit even says JB007 in Star Wars letters.
Lucas had an outline for his Sequels, which Disney threw out. Set a few decades later, the vacuum left by the Empire would result in a battle between the Imperial Remnant and Crime Syndicates. All the while, Luke would continue to be building his Jedi Order, and Leia continues to complete the New Republic. The first trial for Leia's children would be the former Sith Maul, and his apprentice Talon. With the Sequels, Disney was obsessed with pandering to those that had meltdown about the Prequels not being like the Originals. As a result, the Sequels are just modern remakes of the originals without thought, tearing down everyone just for Rey to be supreme.
This movie gave me so much hope when i first saw it. A stormtrooper going rouge? Now that was gonna be interesting thing to see. But they decided to make Finn a side character.
The pink r2d2 is R2-KT was made by Fan and Droid maker Jerry Greene with help of other droid builders, for a little girl, Katie Johnson, the daughter of the founder of the 501st Legion costuming group, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and wanted a droid with her like Padme had in the movies. Now R2-KT makes appearances to raise awareness for childhood illnesses and charities like make-a-wish to honor Katie’s legacy. She also shows up in most Star Wars media now if you look for her.
I'm convinced one of the planets you visit in Jedi Fallen Order where Empire mined kyber crystals becomes Starkiller. There's a huge strip mining trench you visit, and after you complete the planet a storm clears and you see the big trench from space looking just like it.
Ilum. It used to be one of the main sources of the Jedi's kyber crystals and it's where padawans would go to undertake their trials to get their own crystals for the first time. After the Empire took over, they started strip-mining it and the First Order used some old Imperial blueprints to turn it into Starkiller Base. The whole planet was basically one gigantic laser crystal.
27:30 Blasters operate off batteries mostly. An average blaster can fire off around 500 shots before the battery needs replacing, but that varies with power and size of the weapon. Pistols have smaller batteries that need changing more often, where mini-guns like in Clone Wars can fire thousands of shots before needing a new battery pack.
And the worst thing? Starkiller Base? IT'S ILUM! When I learned that, I was so mad! They could have literally made another plane entirely, like they did with not-tatooine (Jakku), but instead, they transformed a very lore-heavy planet into Death Star 3.0
Ilum became a mining planet for the Empire, and all that mass mining operation made it perfect to convert into a weapon system, and all the kyber crystals were already present.
I still don't believe Ilum is Starkiller base. Ilum was an ice planet, Starkiller has trees. Now they could have warmed the planet, but that doesn't explain how it's a snowy forest planet now.
@@roboturtle6549 Belsavis is an ice planet with warm spots and trees. Just because we’ve only ever have seen a small part of the planet, doesn’t mean it’s entirely like that
@@roboturtle6549 You can believe or not believe anything you want. In canon, starkiller base is Ilum. You can disagree all you want, but it is a canon fact lol.
@ Agreed. TLJ (in my opinion) felt like someone trying to do a little of what KotOR 2 did and failed terribly due to the 2 hour movie restriction…among other things. There is potential in the movie but it’s not fully utilized which made so much fall flat to me….and then 9 destroys that foundation for “damage control”.
@@johneden9408 I mean, if they wanted to watch Rouge One and Solo first, they'd have to watch everything in order, which is A LOT of Clone Wars in one go. So I'm guessing that they're watching the movies in release order, meaning that Rouge One is next, followed by 8, then Solo, then 9
@@PopeDuwanglmao putting last Jedi and kotor in the same breath might be the dumbest and cringiest shit I’ve ever seen. The last Jedi is a dumb spaceballs movie I still don’t know what the fuck it was one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever witnessed
So the crossguards on Kylo's saber are actually due to the kyber crystal inside being cracked and needing ventilation for the excess energy flowing from it when activated.
50:30 There is actually a real cool what if comic about Indiana Jones and Shortround investigating the existence of Bigfoot and they stumble upon the ancient wreckage of the Millennium Falcon, which crashed on earth "a long long time ago" and after Han was killed by natives, Chewbacca became The Bigfoot.
About the whole Chewbacca looking like Bigfoot thing, there was a comic about it a lifetime ago iirc. Han and Chewie crash land on earth and years, decades or however long later goddamn Indiana Jones finds Han's remains and sees Bigfoot, aka Chewbacca.
Iirc they crash landed in America in the 1700s, and Han got killed by a spear. Chewie carried Han to the pilot seat to die and wandered into the forest to live the rest of his life.
I remember that one, it was a fun little parody comic. It's from Dark Horse Comics' "Star Wars: Omnibus", a collection of canon, semi-canon, and non-canon one-off comics that were sold in bundles; it's kinda like a manga book where you have several stories in one volume. They were published between 2006 and 2014. I still have a few of my old ones.
And Indiana Jones while walking through the "cave" that's actually the interior of the Millennium Falcon mentions something about how the place felt very familiar to him
I’m excited to watch y’all react to this series. You’re one of the few reaction channels I watch anymore. Your constant joy at just watching stuff and not judging is infectious. I’m hoping to like the sequels more through your eyes xD
I have a feeling these guys aren't going to hate this trilogy and at worst be like "eh it was a fun ride but an alright movie" which is a lost art amongst movie goers now a days
Absolutely. People nowadays can't just enjoy things anymore. Yes, the new movies are bad, but honestly? The originals were bad, too. They're all mindless popcorn films, and that's fine. Star Wars isn't a deep franchise, and you don't need to ascribe undue gravitas to it. You can just enjoy it for what it is.
@Celestia282 eh I wouldn't go as far as you can't delve deeper into the lore of star wars but I will say you don't always have to if you don't like the content and don't need to delve the way one usually would.
Its quite simple: They don't know enough about the entire lore to be able to understand what the sequels did wrong. It's a standard "Ignorance is bliss" situation. The more dumb one is in a specific situation, the easier it will be for him to be happy. Intelligence does not bring happiness, but it brings understanding of truth. The more you know about Star Wars, the worse the Sequels look. The less you know, the better they seem.
Just because I, and large group of people I don't know, dislikes this trilogy, I'm always glad to see others enjoy it. Plus I actually like this first one, it's the other two that disappoint me.
TFA is the only sequel movie I can tolerate. The other two, I can’t explain how much I hate those movies without spoiling it. It really just got to the point where I declared the sequels non-canon and looked to the legends books as my sequels. And I don’t regret it for a second. And before anyone accuses me of being legends biased, keep in my mind, I started reading the legends books AFTER I saw TROS
The thing with this movie is that it sets up so much. That is why on release no one had problems with it. Based on the track record of these films the first one of a given trilogy is never the best one of the trilogy so most people left theatres excuted for what the next two movies have to offer. Rey being naturally gifted with the force is the one common criticism for this movie that 90% of people can agree with. FFS luke had to train for months on Dagoba in between movies with yoda just to do as well as he did in Return of the Jedi.
Altight im gonna say it. If this was planned better this would be sooo much better than what turned out to be. They didnt plan it and because of that was all over the place.
@@Fiddlefiddle5000-qv1ly Definitely. The premise of 7 and some ideas were really good but sadly most of those just fell flat or were never explored further
@@b3yourself91correction, a new hope was written as a standalone but with the possibility of future movies. When those movies were given the green light, then it was written as a trilogy. And it actually worked out very well
Really enjoyed this reaction it’s always so fun to see someone experience Star Wars for the first time. The mix of excitement, surprise, and questions really captures the magic of the film. I love how you pointed out the emotional moments and the new characters. Can’t wait to see your thoughts on the next movies in the saga.😊😊
Fun fact, there’s actually an old Indiana Jones/Star Wars crossover comic where the Millennium Falcon crashes on Earth and it’s revealed that Chewie is the origin of the Bigfoot legend
While this movie doesn't age well after seeing 8 and 9 for me, I can't deny how happy I was, seeing this as the first Star Wars movie in theaters for me. The cheering, the laughing, the clapping, and energy is something I never got to see again since Avengers Endgame. Come to think of it, I never really saw any other reaction in theaters like those two between them, and since their theatrical runs. I just hope I get to see that kind of experience once Sonic 3 comes out. Anyways, I consider this movie the best of the trilogy, and while I don't like these movies with a burning passion and choose to ignore them, I'm going to let you decide for yourselves what you like and don't like. Don't let anyone dictate what you should think.
@@zacharyjamesdixonKylo as you might have guessed is a Knight of Ren, behaves like one as well Smoke would fit best into the category of Sith cultist, people who worship or serve the Sith but aren't actually one themselves
So, me being a lore overthinker, i was under the impression that theyre taking a specific kind of energy from the sun, like all the current active fusion energy. So when the sun is 'gone' it just means its not burning right now. But the sun doesnt burn because its hot, its hot because it's dense. So after they stop pulling energy the sun will basically kind of restart fusion because of the pressure and gravity and still being very hot. but also that could all be wrong lol
Way back in the day there was a whole expanded star wars timeline that was established through novels comics and games prior to the disney acquisition. This did also feature a prominent story involving Han's son who also turned to the dark side. A lot of expanded universe elements were kept in these new films while going in a totally different direction at the same time. The hardcore fanbase heavily invested in the eu at the time was likely the biggest source of the vocal outcry over these films. I've grown to appreciate them a lot more with each rewatch however; even though I can acknowledge its not my favorite trilogy.
You fellas NEED to watch Rogue One. It's the best star wars movie. Now, I don't mean it's the best STAR WARS movie. I mean, it's the best star wars MOVIE. Like, it's probably the only star wars movie that feels like a real, classic, authentic movie, just purely well made, amazing acting, story, direction, cinematography, it's oscar-worthy. And the PERFECT ode to the first ever movie.
While i may not have liked how the sequels turned out in the end, i will always enjoy episode 7, just for the potential ways the set up that could have led to so many different outcomes. Alone it isn't even a bad movie either. I didn't mind any of the characters here in the first movie, and actually was a big fan of the main three (Rey, Finn, and Po) when it came out. Now as for 8 and 9.... well, I will wait tilll those videos are out to say my opinions on their stories. But it is Nice to see my favorite of the sequels being looked at without the stigma of the two that came after.
The Stormtrooper who yelled “Traitor” is one of the most badass characters in Star Wars. He saw one of his old comrades on the battlefield killing their brothers with a mystical blade, and instead of just shooting him even though he had the advantage of Finn not knowing he was there, he instead made his presence know, threw his gun to the ground and pulled out a baton so they could have an evenly matched battle, AND THEN HE KICKED HIS ASS. If Han wasn’t there to blast him with his dirty tricks Finn’s story would’ve ended pretty early.
J.J. remade-repurposed Luke's "Hero's Journey", entered the cheat codes so Rey got all the powerups at lvl 1 and turned a character arc into a character vertical line.
@@LDIndustries Of course it wasn't. Lucas stole the "Hero's journey" from Joseph Campbell and the majority of the plot of "A New Hope" from Akira Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress."
You mean like Anakin "Only Human Podracer Ever" Skywalker and Luke "Blows Up The Death Star In A Fighter He's Never Flown Before" Skywalker? Just like both of them, Rey is a powerful Force-sensitive which *is* a cheat code in this setting. Especially if you are a Force-sensitive with an important destiny because then the Cosmic Force is working for your success too. The reason she knows technical stuff is because she has been a mechanic her entire life. She directly states that she has flown in-atmosphere before. She is shown to know how to fight to survive as a lone girl on Jakku. And as they actually noticed in the reaction, she was digging around in Kylo's mind as much as he was hers. So she found examples of how the Force could be used from his memories.m
I kinda view Kylo's lightsaber as a reflection of his character- edgy, kinda unstable, and so desperately trying to be something new and awesome even if its a bad idea...
What I loved about this, as someone who saw the originals as a child, was how well they developed the new characters. To the point that when Han showed up, I was all "fuck outta here Han, I want more of these new people."
The only spark of good I have is my family just moved to Colorado 3 months ago, which is one of the only states that shifted MORE left rather than right with local legislation this election. Codified abortion and gay marriage into the state constitution. Idk what I'd do if I was still back in Tennessee Gotta keep moving forward though, no matter where you are
26:22 watching this scene in German hits DIFFERENT lmao 38:26 former storm trooper turned force sensitive is what everyone was expecting. What we wanted. What we deserved. So in true Disney fashion, they said nah we are gonna do a few asspulls and turn every single piece of established lore into dust 😂
Of the Sequel Trilogy i think this is the best one because while JJ Abrams isnt the best when it comes to movies, he is decent at leaving things open enough for potential followup. But later entries make it very clear that they had no plan for where they wanted the story to go (also they outright stated that George gave them an outline and they actively ignored it) and let certian egos get in the way of making statisfying products.
19:35 It's my favorite Star Wars character Ben Quadinaros. After failing at podracing in The Phantom Menace, he went on to become Supreme Leader Snoke.
Remember how, after the fall of the empire and the elimination of the Emperor, the galaxy rejoiced that democracy could be restored, then the Sequel Trilogy came along and dashed the hopes of the Expanded Universe? Post-election has me feeling like that.
The light saber that Maz gives Rey is Anakins from Ep 3, the same one Luke lost during the duel on Bespin in Ep 5, it survived lava, extreme gravity, and so many decades for Luke to do what he does at the start of the next one 😂😢
Seeing the stormtrooper torching the town with a flamethrower instantly brought back the image of the charred bodies of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on the Lars homestead in A New Hope.
This movie is a good action-packed flick mixed with nostalgia and new characters apart from having the same plot elements of A New Hope. This one is the best of the sequels.
They should have kept the relationship between Han is son and saved it for the end of the movie like when he sees Leia should have said I saw our sons killer and then at the end yell Ben would have been a much better reveal
23:53 Finn: Years of academy training.......WASTED!! (Edit) I remember seeing this and thinking of the possibilities: Snoke actually being Mace Windu, since no one has died from a fall in Star Wars. Finn being revealed as Force sensitive, explain why he's the only indoctrinated Trooper to question the First Order. Along with other could-be's. And then was just.....just so let down.
I think an important thing to note with regards to Rey's skill with the Force is the difference in context. Luke has no knowledge of the Jedi before A New Hope, and then he gets trained in very specific things it can do in the little time Ben has. Yoda has to force him to realize how powerful the Force actually is. For Rey, the Jedi are legends, but heroic, incredibly powerful ones. It's like if a DC comics fan found a working Green Lantern Ring. She has no conception that there ARE limits once she realizes she has the Force.
There’s a lot of problems with this trilogy, but a lot of fun to be had regardless. BB-8 is a treasure, Captain Phasma is legitimately cool, Finn feels very personable (much more than Rey ever was).
One thing I do like about TFA is that we see Kylo do everything in his power to basically juice himself with the dark side. He freely expresses his anger, he stocks his hatred, he increases his pain by striking his own wound, if something is related to dark emotions he jumps into it for power.
Kylos saber has the extra beams coming out the sides because the crystal used to make his saber is unstable and needs that extra exhaust to keep it from being too overpowering and essentially exploding the saber. That's also why it crackles a lot.
27:30 Star Wars Ammo Fact: Most blaster do have a limited amount of ammo, but a standard blaster pack can give blaster rifle anywhere from 200-500 shots, with blaster pistols being in a similar 20-50 shot range. Extra Fact: solid round weapons like our modern day guns do exist in Star Wars. They're referred to as slug throwers. Tuskan Raiders and other low resource individuals use them, but Mandalorians used them as well when fighting Jedi/Force Users. Sure, you can block a blaster bolt; but try blocking a metal slug with you laser sword, and all you'll get is hot shrapnel in your face.
27:30 - The guns fire bursts of plasma (gas heated to such an extreme that it becomes ionized). The “ammo clips” are gas cartridges, and yes, they can be depleted. *Fun fact: Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back was a station that mined Tibanna Gas from the planet Bespin. Tibanna gas was valued as a fuel or “ammo” commonly used in blaster weapons. 🤓
11:20 the thing that the Empire knows about Luke Skywalker is that he went into the room with Darth Sidious and Darth Vade, the 2 strongest and most feared people in the known galaxy and came out alive alone. This is why the empire fears Luke. Is why the Mof in the mandalorian was scared shitless when the wing arrived and saw the jedi. Because there was only 1 jedi in the galaxy and he knew it was luke
Fun fact, the Stormtrooper who was mind-tricked into releasing Rey in Starkiller Base is Daniel Craig. He's uncredited in the movie, but everyone knows he cameoed as that Stormtrooper.
I was so hyped when the Force Awakens was announced, just like any other fan. But my problem when I finally watched The Force Awakens was from the opening crawl itself. I know they said that JJ Abrams wanted to show they could do Star Wars. The scenery and a lot of the visuals were great. The comedy which felt like they took mostly from Marvel, was okay for some parts, good for other parts but sometimes it didn't feel like it fit. Also I really do like the new characters like Rey, Finn and Poe, with their unique characterizations and they felt different enough from the original cast. But by copying and pasting a New Hope into the Force Awakens, it really took me and a lot of people out of the movie and I mean by the movie plot. We got the end of Return of the Jedi that there was some semblance of hope that the galaxy would finally recover from the rule of the Empire with the New Republic and that Luke's New Jedi Order would also be instrumental as well. Then all of a sudden we get a time skip of what 20-25 years and we are right back to where we started with a New Hope. First Order arises, Luke is now and again the Last Jedi, Leia is now leading a group of Rebels again, Han being a smuggler and being only out for himself and Chewy, a Skywalker falls to the darkside. I can go on, but there are countless vids that can explain it better.
35:36 Ruff is me when I first saw this film, like how did Rey even know how to use the force? like Luke say Obi Wan used the jedi mind trick and was told it only works on the feeble minded. Rey doesnt know that
Just goes to show Disney didn’t know what they were writing about at all. The force isn’t something you can just learn off the bat in an instant. Anakin and Luke were both products of the force and it still took years for them to learn the basics
That stormtrooper that helps Rey out of the chair from the mine trick is 007 Daniel Craig he accidentally ended up on set of Star wars filming and just put on a stormtrooper outfit and did the scene
I like how different Rey's relationship to the Force is from Luke's. He grew up totally in the dark about it, and while training with Yoda was constantly doubting what could be done with it. Rey grew up with stories about Luke and his Jedi accomplishments, so she's immediately willing to believe in the power of the Force. It's Yoda's "Do or do not, there is no try" made manifest.
It's why a lot of people think Rey picks it up too easy. A lot of the Force is belief, Luke didn't believe he could do things. Meanwhile Rey knew the Force was a thing, so when you tell her she can do it, she believes you
@willfanofmanyii3751 except it doesn't. Rey doesn't 'Master' the Force, she just doesn't fuck up like Luke. We also never see Anakin fail like Luke does. Rey also has a LOT more training in Episode 9 than Luke had in Episode 6. Luke had about 25 hours with Ben, not necessarily training, and Luke was on Dagobah wuth Yoda anywhere from 3 days to 2 months...and I have spent 30 fucking years trying to find ANYTHING more specific than that...I average it to 2 weeks. Meanwhile SPOILERS Rey spent 1-4 days training with Luke, spent a year training with Leia as well as studying the Jedi texts, and the Dyad meant she also had all of Kylo's abilities and power, just not necessarily the knowledge to use then to their fullest
@@TheKyrix82 That's a lot of word vomit from the final film of a trilogy to explain why Rey is overpowered, now where was this info in the first two films? Oh right, nothing there because JJ and RJ wanted the audience to not ask questions. -Rey used the Mind Trick on her first try, the hardest ability for a force user, and defeated an enraged force user with 20 years worth of training in her first battle. -Luke was given the basics by Obi-Wan for a few hours, then spent the next 3 years honing those skills, spent a few months with Yoda, then spent another year honing those new skills as well. Luke had far more training then Rey, and only lived because of Anakin. What she got from Luke was the opposite of training, lol. Leia suddenly being a Jedi Master out of nowhere doesn't help your argument, and the Jedi Books letting her do a bunch of random new shit doesn't help either.
@willfanofmanyii3751 "That's a lot if word vomit" I speak casual, let me translate. 'Word vomit' means 'I didn't expect you to know the answer, and I can't actually dispute that, so I'm going to pretend what you said was nonsense to hide my ignorance'. "From the final film of the trilogy" They set it up from the first film, they only NAMED it in the final film. As opposed to the explanation of Luke's rapid rise to power which wasn't explained until Episode 1, decades later. "To explain why Rey was overpowered" Rey WASN'T overpowered. Rey was, at best, 'powered'. You just don't have other Jedi besides Luke to compare her to, and Luke was a slow learner, and his movies came out when special effects were in their infancy...as evidenced by the actual Obi Wan/Vader fight vs the fan made one. "Rey used mind trick on her first try" Third try. Meanwhile, we see Luke get it right the first time he's seen using it. We also see him get telekinesis right the first time we see him use it...and no one even told him it was POSSIBLE to move things with the Force. Rey only manipulated someone's mind AFTER it was done to her, meaning she knew it was possible. "And defeated an enraged Force User wuth 20 years of training" At least you didn't try to claim he was a Sith. First off, Kylo isn't even at 'Jedi Knight' level, his training was incomplete. Second, he was heavily, lethally wounded, the Dark Side was the only thing keeping him on his feet, plus Finn had his his dominant arm before Rey's fight started. On top of that, Kylo DOMINATED that fight until he literally backed her to a cliff. And it wasn't until she calmed down and Kylo overextended himself that she got ANOTHER hit on his dominant arm...the one holding his lightsaber in the ONE HANDED FIGHTING STYLE he refused to deviate from, that she started getting any real offense in. Kylo has also rarely had a REAL fight, whereas Rey fought her whole life, even if it was with a staff. And lastly, Ben was 10 years old when Luke started training him, and that training ended 13 years later. While Snoke may have given him lessons after that, Snoke basically stated he was still untrained, so he didn't have '20 years of training'. And beyond even that, Rey and Kylo shared skills through the Dyad...he was injured, she was not. And she had a lot more experience in improvised fighting. And I'm also glad you're not pretending that Luke trained with Obi Wan's ghost between movies, but while Luke may have spent 3 years honing his skills...think about the skills he had to hone. After the Battle of Yavin, Luke had ZERO contact with Kenobi until right before the Battle of Hoth. So the only things Luke knew were some rudimentary lightsaber moves, how to block blasters, he knew that mind trick was possible, and he knew precognition. That's it. And at the absolute most, Luke had 2 months with Yoda, and again, Luke was a lousy learner, who failed every test Yoda gave him. Rey, by contrast, had anywhere from 1-3 days training with Luke, and a full year with Leia and the texts, plus all of Kylo's abilities. Leia wasn't 'suddenly a Jedi Master out if nowhere'. She trained with Luke for a year, and Luke said she was ready. And the Jedi books were literally about how to be a Jedi, so yes it does help my case. Face it, you're wrong in almost every way possible...though you did get a few things right, which I acknowledge and am genuinely impressed by. But Luke bullshitted his abilities into existence, leaving writers 30 years later to explain how, while Rey's 'excuse' entered the story at the same time she did.
4:30 and thanks to James Earl Jones love of the character every time we hear Darth Vader it will be his voice. He gave Lucasfilm permission to use his voice in future movies. 4:55 you guys should read the book about the “shiny” stormtrooper. Her name is Captain Phasma(book is the same name). It talks about how she got the shiny suit. 17:14 this scene was amazing in the theaters. Everyone just cheered loudly. 17:19 this is set 30 years in the future. 25:58 there’s no underwear in the Star Wars Galaxy according to George Lucas which is why Leia didn’t wear any in A New Hope and Carrie Fisher had to wear tape underneath. 26:24 it’s interesting how they made the First Order similar to Hitler’s group. 28:45 he was supposed to die on Jakku but talked Abrams and the others to keep him. 30:37 yes that was R2-KT or “Katie” dubbed the "Droid With the Heart of Gold," The R2-D2 Builders Club created her in honor of a Star Wars fan Katie Johnson who was the daughter of the founder of the 501st Legion costuming group. She had terminal brain cancer at 7 years old. George Lucas filmed a get well video for her while he was in Japan for Episode 3. She wished she had a droid like R2 to watch over her so the builders group got together and made it. According to her dad it stayed by her side in her final days. R2-KT visits children’s hospitals often. They made a hot wheels version of the droid that we bought at the 2015 celebration. You’ll also see her in some of the clone wars series. 34:13 Rian Johnson screwed up Episode 8 then JJ Abrams had to try to make Episode 9 work as a closer to the Skywalker Saga. 35:48 that was Daniel Craig. 44:57 Carrie Fisher said after this episode Abrams told her that Episode 7 is Han, Episode 8 is Luke & Episode 9 is Leia. 46:06 his saber is like that cause the crystal is damaged and it needs to vent out the sides. 47:04 this is a fun scene to play in the Lego Star Wars Force Awakens movie. 51:12 some thinks it just took R2 that long to come back online. 53:11 poor Mark Hamill didn’t get any lines in this movie. Since he didn’t have any lines he did the whole table read. 54:10 they touch on why she’s so powerful in Episode 9. I had a feeling they were going to do it in Episode 8 but Rian Johnson did his own thing. What’s interesting is for the “Solo” movie Lord & Miller were doing something similar to what Johnson did in this one and they learned their lesson and replaced Lord & Miller with Ron Howard.

Ahh Rey, the best evarrr, She can live on a desert planet her whole life, suddenly knows how to pilot the Falcon better than Han Solo with NO TRAINING! Can defeat Kylo Ren, who trained under Luke Skywalker and a Sith, the FIRST TIME she picks up a lightsaber. Can wait what the next two movies will bring, what incredible abilities Rey will have without any training! Cannot wait to find out who Rey is waiting for, im sure that wont be too exciting lol.
The sequels, especially TFA, have grown on me a little. They could have/should have been so much more and Disney unmistakenly blew it, but when I moved past hating what they aren't and just rolled with what they are, I came to appreciate what's there
"how long did it take to build something like that?" Since the fall of the republic actually! this planet is Illum, you go to it in Jedi: fallen order, where you get your crystal for the saber. The empire was mining it, getting kyber for the Deathstar. You can see the quarry from space! The first order utilized it, taking advantage of both the hole and the kyber left.
Fun fact, Wookies in-lore can live for centuries, so we're likely to see Chewie in the next main trilogy even if it takes place decades after this one.
the blaster weapons actually DO have to reload. They use canisters of a specific gas that fires as superheated plasma. Standard blaster that were used in the clone was i believe had around 100 shots per cartridge not including the miniguns and stuff. idk if this is still canon anymore but there you go!
I was high out of my mind watching this last night and saw the word "star" and thought it was a star vs the forces of evil reaction. I sat through the whole thing and the whole time thinking "Wow, the shows really changed a lot since I last watched it." I do now realize why.
Blasters do run out of ammo eventually. They're loaded with power packs (basically batteries) and the amount of shouts depends on how powerful the weapon is (for instance, the Pistol Han gave Rey would get more shots off than Han's blaster, which is more powerful than a standard blaster pistol and would deplete a power pack at about the same rate as a Stormtrooper's rifle)
Not even shots fired. My ex worked at Disney and when you are "on stage" there are no excuses. Costume better stay on and you are in character no matter what. Was so fun when the Star Wars section opened there because they had to give you directions "off world" to the other attractions at the park.
I feel like I am in the minority when I say I enjoy the trilogy! Is it well written? Not at all. Do I still like them? Yes I do! The last trilogies are movies I like having on in the background as I do art and just vibe. Glad to see y'all coming in with open minds (like other comments have said).
They aren't clones or storm troopers they are first order troopers. Clones are clones storm troopers are a mixture of clones and normal humans that signed up to be a storm troopers and first order troopers are all conscripted normal humans
I think why characters/ppl thought luke was a myth was because he went into the room with both emperor sidious and darth vader and he was the only one to come out. I suppose the accountability came from the surviving storm troopers that seen luke dragging vader as they escaped the second death star before it exploded. I guess the story faded into myth and legend as it was a story told by rebels and surviving storm troopers who were there
Chewie being big foot actually already happened in a comic. Basically Han and Chewie and fleeing through space and overshoot while in hyperspace and crash land on earth. Thousands of years later Indiana Jones is exploring some ruins and happens upon the Falcon and sees the shadow of Chewie.
Fun fact, Starkiller Base was made out of the planet Ilum. Also, the name Starkiller was originally going to be Luke's last name but they changed it. It's cool they still re-used the name for the protagonist of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and this base.
Luke Skywalker is known as the guy who walked into a room with the emperor and Darth Vader and walked out dragging Darth Vader on the floor. That’s one hell of a reputation to leave behind.

The little girl, Katie, had terminal cancer, and she wanted a droid to watch over her, so members of the R2 builder's group created R2-KT for her. For a minute you had me thinking Harrison Ford was dead.

“That was a good scream” glad you liked it bc you gonna hear it a lot more 🤣🤣
70% of Finn arc is unfortunately screaming Reeeeyy!!!!!
Literally his whole character. He got screwed over so hard. I couldn't help but notice how physically large John Boyega's mouth is.
So Kylo's lightsaber needs the side vents, and is so crackling and distorted, because when he was bleeding his crystal to make it red, Kylo poured so much hatred into it that it cracked. His original hilt broke when he first ignited it and needed to add the side vents to control the excess power
He would have been an amazing Jacen Solo
so ur telling me he had more hate in his heart from being semi-betrayed by his uncle than Vader, who went through the events of Episodes 1-3? 😭
@@MrMan2006 It was more like a balance thing, Kylo didn't have control over the hatred, "he poured too much" kinda thing.

Phasma very much has Boba Fett syndrome, being a very iconic looking antagonist while simultaneously being so underwhelming in her actions. 😅
THEN, tell me he is underwhelming. lol

The only knowledge Rey had of the force before Kylo intruded into her mind was that jedi could trick people and makes things float.
35:36 "How is she figuring this out??" One of the biggest complaints that made an interesting character not work as well. There's no development on that.
She made a guess and it worked, the force isn't exactly private knowledge anymore
Luke: "I don't believe it!"
Yoda: "That is why you fail."
Luke didn't fail because he was too weak or didn't have enough experience, but because he didn't believe it was possible for him to move such a heavy object. He deemed the task impossible and so it was.
That's a reocurring theme in Star Wars: in order to use the force, you have to believe that you can do it.
And that's how Rey could do that mind trick or defeat Kylo in the end. She simply opened her mind and choose to believe in herself and the force.
They did develop it in return of Skywalker. People just did figure it out. The writers decided not to reveal it until the 3rd film.
And Simon Pegg burned for Star Wars playing Unkar Plutt. His words on the suit being bloody hot.

I'm convinced one of the planets you visit in Jedi Fallen Order where Empire mined kyber crystals becomes Starkiller. There's a huge strip mining trench you visit, and after you complete the planet a storm clears and you see the big trench from space looking just like it.
Ilium.
Ilum. It used to be one of the main sources of the Jedi's kyber crystals and it's where padawans would go to undertake their trials to get their own crystals for the first time. After the Empire took over, they started strip-mining it and the First Order used some old Imperial blueprints to turn it into Starkiller Base. The whole planet was basically one gigantic laser crystal.
my trying to make gramatical sense of how a planet full of crystals becomes the most iconic Galen Marek...then i remembered. uhggg
Fun Fact: Daniel Craig cameos the stormtrooper that Rey jedi mind tricks into releasing her
35:40 This Storm Trooper that Rey used the mind trick on was played by Daniel Craig. His Storm Trooper number is JB-007.
Lol I knew James Bond was in this movie! Craig told the paparazzi that he wasn't in The Force Awakens. Guess he wanted to throw them off the scent.
I mean it makes sense. What better planet to make into a Death Star than the one with the Kyber crystals

So when the sun is 'gone' it just means its not burning right now. But the sun doesnt burn because its hot, its hot because it's dense.

38:26 former storm trooper turned force sensitive is what everyone was expecting. What we wanted. What we deserved. So in true Disney fashion, they said nah we are gonna do a few asspulls and turn every single piece of established lore into dust 😂
I couldn't take German Hux seriously due to certain other roles he voiced but that scene was still humorous
Honesty I do like the new trilogy only for the aesthetics of the planets and new tech I wish they had made a good story with the visuals
They say In Space No One Can Hear You Scream. But im pretty sure the Galaxy just heard a Wookie cry..
They should have kept the relationship between Han is son and saved it for the end of the movie like when he sees Leia should have said I saw our sons killer and then at the end yell Ben would have been a much better reveal

Finn: Years of academy training.......WASTED!!
(Edit) I remember seeing this and thinking of the possibilities:
Snoke actually being Mace Windu, since no one has died from a fall in Star Wars.
here to say don't listen to the haters on these movies and enjoy what you enjoy
27:33
The blasters can run out of ammo but a single charge has about 5 000 shots, so it takes a while to empty them
I was so hyped when the Force Awakens was announced, just like any other fan.
“They’re Disney employees bro” as a former cast member, 100% 😂
Meanwhile Rey knew the Force was a thing, so when you tell her she can do it, she believes you
That falls apart when it took Anakin over a decade to Master it and he already believed in it, lmao.
Meanwhile
SPOILERS
Rey spent 1-4 days training with Luke, spent a year training with Leia as well as studying the Jedi texts, and the Dyad meant she also had all of Kylo's abilities and power, just not necessarily the knowledge to use then to their fullest

That's a lot of word vomit from the final film of a trilogy to explain why Rey is overpowered, now where was this info in the first two films?
I do like this movie
RIP to all that has passed in the Star wars universe including James Earl Jones, Carry Fisher....... I also dressed up as Ray for Halloween and my son dressed up as obi one.... We enjoy all the videos put out there including Star wars..... keep safe all 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏💖🙏
Ahh Rey, the best evarrr,
She can live on a desert planet her whole life, suddenly knows how to pilot the Falcon better than Han Solo with NO TRAINING!
"i think if im not mistake-" we may never know how that sentence ended
I guess the story faded into myth and legend as it was a story told by rebels and surviving storm troopers who were there
"The sinister First Order has risen from the ashes of The Empire". There's something so prescient about that today... 🤔
30:35 PINK R2D2!!! So stoked you saw that! You'll be remembered and adored forevermore. Rest in peace Katie ❤
Fun fact, Starkiller Base was made out of the planet Ilum. Also, the name Starkiller was originally going to be Luke's last name but they changed it. It's cool they still re-used the name for the protagonist of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and this base.
Revan turned from the light side to the dark side and then back the light side.
