    Probably watched this video 1-2 years ago when I was just getting back into skating. Now I'm finally moving out of Florida to Texas so I thought I'd look up some parks. And I can hardly believe that I stumbled upon this one, I recognized it immediately from your video. I can't wait to go skate this place now!

    I really like your videos, they always make want to go out and learn those tricks right now. Sadly I can see snow when I look out of my window and I know it will be a few months until I can go outside and skate again. We have an indoor Skatepark here but it only has one Miniramp that is quite high for beginners like me to learn tricks on. People come from all over the world to ride Skateboard here but for Beginners it's quite hard, nothing compared to most of the US skateparks i see in the videos where there is always some great transition to learn your first tricks on.

    HOLY FUGG! This is the best rock n roll tutorial. Im not new, in fact i can rock n roll on smaller ramps, but trying in 6ft bowl is terrifying for me. I still cant do it, but i practiced the incremental tap today and i really saw some progress, im more calm down when reaching the coping now. I think in the coming days i will try to stall it.

    I've been tryibg this one for a while, will definitely give these tips a try, my main issue is that my back foot keeps somehow sliding off, its probably a subconcious reaction but I'm not quite sure how to solve that problem.

  • @mitch3384
    @mitch3384 4 роки тому

    Glad this is here.. judging by how you do them, my problem with this trick is not leaning far enough back into the ramp when bringing the board around. I've had no problem learning fakie half-cab rock n roll, but I keep bailing out of backside rock n rolls, and I've slammed on a couple.

    Hey @Justin Lauria . Wondering if you could do a shuv-it tutorial. I know there are MANY shuv-it tutorials on UA-cam but I really like how you explain to do each and every trick; you are very detailed. I even looked at your video, on how to set up a skateboard. Anyways I can ollie but it's really weak haha barely above the ground and tackled most of your non-ollie trick playlist. So that's why i'd like to shuv-it. This is only a request, thank you!

    Justin, what kind of wheels are u riding and what high tops r u using? seems like u have a really good ankle protection, are the soles grippy like vans shoes?

    • @NeverStopImprovingSB
      @NeverStopImprovingSB  9 років тому

      +1cetma
      The wheels I use are called OJs (in particular, hardness: 101a width: 58mm). They just had them at the shop and they ended up working out great. I've been powersliding them like crazy and still not one flat spot.
      And my shoes are Nike SB Dunks; I can't attest to how grippy they are compared to Vans because I've never skated a pair of Vans, but they're definitely really durable.

    Hi Justin, I use your videos a lot. In my case for what I can do on my surfskate. The thing is I simply can't go backwards/fakie. Which is why I am looking at this one instead of the rock to fakie. If you're ever out of inspiration than maybe you could make a 'surfskate compatible tricks video'. Nice tricks you can do without going fakie 😳😉. Either way thanks for all your videos. They have been really great

      +Justin Lauria I have a 3 ft half pipe and the 2 ramps (1/4 s) are closer together than the one you are skating I can drop in ok but cos its so close i find its to fast for rock to fakie if you know what i mean ican do front and backside kick turns if i pump from the bottom without dropping in problem is ihavent really got the room to move the ramps apart (this is last resort)the ramps are made of wood so could be done also dont really want to cut the hieght down any ideas ?

    • @NeverStopImprovingSB
      @NeverStopImprovingSB  9 років тому +1

      +batchee boy If the ramps are the same height, it's possible to drop in on one side and rock to fakie on the other side, regardless of how close together the 2 quarter pipes are (like even if they are touching and there's no flat part in between them). It does take a different type of pumping though, sort of reverse pumping or anti-pumping where you intentionally lose momentum.
      Until you get a feel for it, I hope you have some other options of places to practice because I wouldn't want something like that to hold you back.
      If not, you can still learn stuff on that setup by just pumping from the bottom or learning backside axle stalls. For that trick, you need to get your body all the way on top of the coping anyway, so it'd be kind of perfect.

    • @batcheeboy5077
      @batcheeboy5077 9 років тому +1

      +Justin Lauria thanks for your reply the ramps are the same height the flat part in between is 80cm.i will take your advice learn axle stall then go back and learn rock to fakie any chance you could exlain about the anti pumping. Sounds like the way to solve the problem thanks again dude. Quality vids

  • @tlg5003

    Help! I've been trying this trick for months and its making me hate skateboarding! I can rock, I rotate shoulders, look round, but I CANNOT get the board to rotate and stay on it (If it rotates all the way my feet come off, if my feet stay on it only rotates 90 degrees or not at all). Ive watched every video, had coaching and lessons and probably tried this hundreds of times, maybe even 1000 or more and still cant do it. Everyone is telling me the same thing 'oh just turn your shoulders and commit' but that isnt helping at all. Any other tips/ideas?

    • @NeverStopImprovingSB
      @NeverStopImprovingSB  8 місяців тому +1

      Sometimes if you're trying it on too shallow of a quarter pipe, it can make things much more difficult
