- In this casual documentary film, Jon and Erin take you behind the scenes at the lavender farms in southern Oregon. You will meet 6 lavender farmers, 2 lavender nursery owners, and a Master Gardener who oversees the lavender garden at the local extension office.
These experts share their stories, show you how they grow, harvest, propagate, and work with lavender on their farms and in their gardens. You'll also witness two essential oil and hydrosol distillations - one with a copper alembic still and another with a stainless steel still.
To learn more about lavender, distillation, herbalism, and sustainable aromatherapy, visit floranella.com. We also offer an Herbal Aromatherapy™ Certification Program that teaches you to work with herbs, hydrosols and essential oils from garden to still to apothecary.
I had lavender in my yard, and thought it was Sage, until it bloomed this year, 😂 so here I am, wanting to learn all about this awesome plant!

I have no plans to travel the world to create such a video at present, as I am currently focusing on teaching through our online school. Perhaps one day!
It's really awesome.
Is there have any age limit for Herbal Aromatherapy Certification Program.
Glad you enjoyed it! Students in the HACP must be at least 18 years old but there is no other age restriction.

Sue and Derek sell them on their website at englishlavenderfarm.com
Amazing Video! Thanks! I'm from Brazil, want to visit some of those farms. How cani contact them?
Best regards,
Sue and Derek are at englishlavenderfarm.com. Lavender Fields Forever is now under new ownership and I do not know the new owners. Goodwin Creek is also under new ownership, but I have met the new owners and they are great. They are still operating at goodwincreekgardens.com
Where did you buy your still?
Beverly, are you asking me (Erin) or one of the farmers whose stills you saw in this video?
@@FloranellaYT My error -- I stopped the video and asked the question of the owner who was on the screen at the time. I like the copper still that think belongs to Derek Olson and I'm intrigued by the silver color still being shown by Bob Sibbett (?). I'm just starting our Lavender farm in North Idaho but I've been growing Lavender in my yard for years. Now I'm watching videos like crazy trying not to make mistakes and to get it going correctly and conveniently to the farm.------- It was a nice video. Makes me want to do a road trip
I am not certain where the Owen's got their still, but there is a very similar one (if not the same one) available through The Essential Oil Company, which is based in Oregon. It has been several years since we filmed this video, but if I remember correctly, the stainless steel still was built by someone named Steve... "Stainless Steve" I believe it was, but I could be mistaken. I think I remember John saying that he had a Facebook page.
