The term ‘minority appeasement ‘ itself is an appeasement of the Muslim population in India by not naming them directly. Christians in general, sikhs, Jains, Jews, Buddhists in particular are very much at home in India, respect the constitution and law of the country and therefore feel part of this great country. Her 2nd point in the debate was in fact proper that at times intention behind a tradition may not be discriminatory but over a time population may interpret it in a way that can lead to discrimination - which may very apply in other cases but not here.

Would Swarnamalya Ganesh allow her guests to break every rules at her home? Similar way, deities have certain rules in the Temple and that needs to be maintained by every visitor. Sabrimala temple allows women during certain age. It's not entirely banned for women. There are certain temples which does not allow men and that's absolutely fine similar to the diversity of the nature.

@Pin Apple It speaks about how the human body has 6-7 major chakras (nerve plexuses) situated in different parts of the body. Sabarimala is last of 6 places in the pilgrimage. Pilgrimage is supposed to be to followed in a particular order. Each temple is situated in a way that stimulates a particular cluster of nerves in your body (goes from genitals to brain) I haven't been there yet, but the author (woman) claims to have felt some pain/sensation in the particular areas where the nerve plexuses were situated.
Sabarimala is related to the topmost plexus in the brain.. excessive stimulation of this area leads to decrease in activity of the reproductive plexus. Hence the ban on menstruating/reproductive age group women, as excessive stimulation does happen in Sabarimala. Lord Ayyappa was a celibate himself.. the author says she wrote down the book as she traveled. But after Sabarimala she took weeks before she could get over the urge to become celibate and leave her life behind and go to Sabarimala and live there forever with Lord Ayyappa. Even in her menstrual cycle, she had irregularities despite having a normal one previously.
I think it is worth going just to satisfy one's curiosity before we term this complicated science as simply misogyny.

For an intelligent woman I'm taken aback by Swarnamalya's lack of understanding of the Sabarimala Temple's issues. She is unable to comprehend the nuances involved. She's sadly a product of a judeo Christian education and her thoughts remains clouded by that mindset.

I am appalled by the arguments of the woman who is claiming that her gender is being discriminated against in Sabarimala. It's not a case of discrimination. The fact that you are hell-bent on entering the temple of a deity that clearly doesn't have anything to offer to you and your entire gender, makes it clear that you only want to enter for cheap publicity. Applying ideas of equality to something that isn't inequality in the first place. It is like asking why can't we change clothes in Men's trial room or why can't we use Men's toilet.
The only buk dat Atiqur Rehman has read is Urdu - Eng Dictionary and he speaks of research...
