- From the Nineteen-Eighty-Four soundtrack: "For the Love of Big Brother"
I didn't see a video on UA-cam that has just this song, so I thought I'd upload one.
Music by Eurythmics. I don't own anything.

I think to the past, or to the future. To an age when thought was free. From the age of Big Brother, from the age of the Thought Police, from a dead man, greetings.
The Thought Police are on their way to your home
this music is somehow... haunting
it's like it's ingrained into my head
Yes, I get it all the time.
What I really enjoyed in 1984 movie is this music with the narrator in the background. I wish they made more movies with narrators, it provides so much more depth to the story.
i cant forget this
"To a time where thought is free"
“From the age of big brother, from the age of the thought police from a dead man….greetings”
Thought in the current age today is not free, we are in 1984
@deadwaste1 when I typed that out I had no idea where the world would go in 4 years
Except it is, you are free to speak your mind. The fact that you are able to write this comment is enough of a proof that we are NOT living in 1984 @@Deadsmegma
One day, friend.
One day we will be free.
What’s really depressing is the party got hold of Winston’s diary and probably more than likely threw it into a memory hole after Winston was vaporized.
Winston wasn't vapourised tho was he?
I thought he ends up in the little cafe but maybe that is like when the workers DO take the power we will "vapourise" the currently ruling capitalists by only taking away their power and wealth
@@StevieRevbo he got brainwashed
@@StevieRevbo read the book bro it explain that at the end
@@StevieRevbo they openly tell him he isn't safe. They'll kill him when the party needs fresh victims and terrorists. Then he'll be shot or publically hanged.
They didn’t ‘unperson’ him they merely took away the last vestige of his individualism.
Perfect theme for walking around on a dark, foggy, and rainy evening.
So chilling, after reading the book and now watching the film every scene has been everything I’ve imagined, bleak, dreary, miserable. Almost brought me to tears when watching the scene of him and his journal, this film is a compliment to a piece of art.
It did bring me to tears
I cried
For days
its more terrifying given the direction the WEF, blackrock, vanguard and others, along with US and EU parliaments want to direct our species... I will defend my freedom with... everything until I stop doing everything.
I'm an Iranian, we are leading a revolution in my country and if you follow the news you will understand what I'm saying but before now, when the regime was still so powerful and no one had the balls to even think, everyday, this song played in my head, and I started to remember Winston's ideas and etc.
So I know what it feels like.
How were you able to access this movie or soundtrack in Iran? Wasn’t it banned by the regime?
@@ArmyJames vpn
@@ArmyJames Iran doesn't ban 1984, at least specifically afaik. I know comparisons are tempting but in the grand scheme of things. Iran is just a garden variety authoritarian government, and fisher price next to Oceania. Even in terms of current real world regimes. China and North Korea are far more comparable to Oceania than Iran is.
@@archieames1968 North Korea is definitely the most, considering rooms are bugged, the citizens are brainwashed into xenophobia, mass propaganda that everything is fine, ect
Oh god I'm so sorry... Can you not leave your country? I know it's your home, but sometimes you must look after yourself
If thought itself is death,
why not set pen to paper?
CHONNY JASH MENTIONED
I like to listen to this song whenever I walk through fields and pretend I'm in Golden Country
I love this whole aesthetic
the aesthetic of horriffic oppression and poverty,

This song plays whenever I'm taking a shit
This comment is cool
Freedom of thought is important.. good on Winston.. he represents this.
This song is so powerful and amazing to me it almost makes me tear up while listening to it
I almost get emotional real fast
Thanks for the upload, I have been looking for this song for a long time.
This song is always a positive theme in the movie, it plays in the times of hope when life is a little less miserable.
Wow a youtube vid with no dislikes, says something. Song eerily relevant for right now...
Elishah Thompson At the time of writing this, four thought criminals have messed it up.
Dislikes has been disabled, no more thought criminals, comrades!
Beautiful music from a beautiful scene ❤
I couldn't agree with you more.
I hate getting ads on this, but it’s such a perfect song.
get ublock origin extension already
*laughs in Revanced on the android and Unlock origin on the desktop*
I have been going threw some shit and now I always have earbuds in and this always playing on loop
@Robert_Crumb I’m so much better now. lol this is some super old comment from when I was dating a toxic girl
The 2 people who disliked this video need to be vaporized
what are you the thought police?
I wonder if this is where Aphex Twin found inspiration for Xtal? Remarkably similar chord progression.
Some of his music feels connected in some way to this soundtrack
So beautiful yet at the same time so terribly scary
I think in the movie i guess this song symbolises winston a good man stuck in a orwellian world with no way out you could feel it because its different from the other soundtracks in 1984 its not patriotic as oceania this for thee but a much calmer feeling
It’s the place where there is no darkness.
chonny jash reference
This gave me big boards of canada vibes on first listening, does anyone know if they used this for a sample
Beatiful song... Thanks for the upload
2+2=4
no, it's 5, stupid thoughtcriminal
Where can I find a high quality version of these tracks?
this one just sounds like rotting. its not even beautiful... its just rotting. I don't know how else to describe it
Decadent.
Thank you so much! Exactly what I've been looking for :D
ok now make it an hour long
Beautiful music❤❤❤
💯💯
Beautiful music from an amazing film.
When I grow up this reality of depression like this music was my world. Even if Stalin died 30 year's after my birth his spirit was still there. You young people don't realise what real socialism meant. This music remind me of my childhood. And don't get me wrong here it was the most wonderful time. However everything around it was like this music. I remember when I was in the first class of elementary school I drawn a rocket. But instead of writing cccp I put usa on it. My parents got into deep shit because of it. Ironically I never saw a soviet rocket but a short film about saturn 5 moon rocket where I memorized the usa letters that was the reason why I put it in. Thought Police was a real thing and why I was in school end of the 1980s many people have been put in prison just because they wanted to be free.
Soviet Union wasn't socialist and instead was just a horrible government
This quote is not wrong at all: Who doesn't remember the Soviets are people without hearts, but who wants to go back to the Soviet era are people without thinking (Vladimir Putin)
Can you tell me more about your life?
This plays in my head everytime someone gets arrested for a spicy tweet
Listen to this music, I'm glad when I'm living in the most free socialist country - Vietnam. It's not some kind of authoritarian regime like the North Korea or Oceania in the 1984 movie.
And to any Russians or Ukrainians here, I hope peace will come to your lands soon :)
thank you!
So peaceful, very peaceful
Very good music
This is my World this music is my not real World real World i real my World is not real
Whut?
are you okay?
Die beste nachdenkliche Filmscene, Danke fürs hochladen !
War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
Join a ministry today and serve Big Brother.
I really like this soundtrack. It's melancholic and hopeless, yet monotonously sweet as if telling you that someday far in the future it's finally going to be okay.

Conservatives when they see a woman in a video game
Lara Croft, Bayonetta, Samus, Jill Valentine, Fem Shep, Claire Redfield, April Ryan, Chelle, Tracer... nice straw(wo)man.
Libtards when they see a white man in a video game
Liberals when the female leads are actually well written and don't pander to feminist narratives---
Or when traditional masculinity isn't punished by the narrative for being "wrong."
