I’m a retired Respiratory Therapist. And I’ve worked many years in an open heart surgical unit. There’s no way that nurse practitioner could rightfully diagnose chronic heart failure from a X ray. She would need at least an echocardiogram. Glad you tested fine and you’re doing better. Keep up the great videos👍
your so right, why would Nurse Practitioner make that diagnoses without a echo, when that happen to me they sent me to a cardiologist.and did the echo and stress test.
Most doctors can't spell X-ray, its the imagining specialists. They're mostly interpreting fuzzy dots on an image or parroting what the computer image analysis says.
Finding a good doctor is like finding a good mechanic nowadays. The best medicine is what you eat. Please take care of yourself and lose 50 pounds brother. I’m glad you’re still with us.
As a good mechanic myself that everyone claims to look for, I call bs. Y'all come to me with a sob story about what some shop did and how they charged $10,000,000 and didn't fix the issue and I fix the issue faster and cheaper no issues and y'all go right back to that same shop or jump to another shop that will misdiagnose and break stuff and I never hear from y'all again. I don't wanna hear it
@ oh okay. So I guess just eat right and don’t be fat. Just like change your oil with good quality oil and change out your fluids every 60k miles. This dude is morbidly obese. He needs to take care of himself by eating correctly and exercise at the bare minimum.
@@MacAutoDiag so you’re saying blame the customer huh? Lol. Then he has himself to blame brother. Just like you should change your oil with good quality oil every 5k miles and other fluids every 30-60k miles. He needs to eat better exercise and lose over 50 pounds to be at a decently healthy BMI. Heart disease is all too common and leads to a premature death. Not to mention how other illness feed off it.
@@MacAutoDiagnobody wants your whining. If you are as good as you think you are, business shouldn’t be an issue. I can already see why people don’t come back
The doctor said the same thing to my stepdad about blood clots in his leg. He kept telling him that it hurt and the doctor said no it’s this. It’s this. He finally told them no I want to get checked for blood clots and it turns out he had a 90% blockage.
Glad you are doing well. I did a push back against a Nurse Practitioner last July. It was a physical exam. It lasted 90 seconds when she stormed out of the room claiming I had questioned her competence. She said I presented too many issues and that she was overwhelmed. She said I could pick the most significant issue and that was it. Haven't been back.
Brother I work in an ICU: 1) Our Lord has everyone's last day. 2) You look very much alive to me. 3)Walk daily for 2 hours , like my 90* year old ICU patients. 4) Stay away from the medical field.
2 months??? Dude... keep your healthy habits, and don't jinx it... 2 months is a little too soon to be sure it's truly in remission. As congratulatory as I want to be, I think you're better served being warned.
Glad it was just a scare and not an accurate diagnosis! I have type one diabetes. I was diagnosed at 5. My mom has told me that the pediatrician we were seeing at the time told her that, after I was discharged form the hospital, she wanted a follow-up appointment and, when they met, she wanted my mother to know more about diabetes than she did. Looking back, it was the best advice she could have given. We can't advocate for ourselves if we're not informed. As I've grown up with this condition (more than 50 years now), I've taken the position that I'm the Head Coach of my healthcare team and that my doctors are my assistant coaches and coordinators; I make the calls, but with their input and advice.
5 years ago a gastroenterologist diagnosed me with a hereditary disease where I don’t get rid of iron because my iron levels were high. The solution is donate blood to get rid of the excess iron. 5 years later some of my blood chemistry was coming out weird so my doctor sent me to a hematologist. Prior to the visit he did a full iron work up. Turns out I’m now very anemic which has been what’s causing the weird blood results. Now I’m on iron supplements with a possible IV in my future. You can’t win.
The health system just keeps getting worse and worse. I can't even see a regular family doctor unless I want to wait six months. I can see a nurse practitioner in two, though. It took six months to see a cardiologist (I had a heart attack a few years ago in my mid-40s), and every single test they want to give me is denied by insurance before eventually being approved, resulting in more long delays. I pay $800 a month for that policy and they didn't even want me to have a stress test, even with my history. And yeah I was symptomatic. I do show signs of blockage and they denied an angiogram. Waiting for that approval right now. System is failing.
Chronic heart failure is not a death sentence. My wife was diagnosed with it about the same time as you. It is certainly dangerous and she spent a week in the hospital on two occasions, but in the end they were able to help her with two stints in her heart which was not an invasive procedure. We are still dealing with complications because they also diagnosed her with a slow-growing cancer of the lungs and the medications for that have been causing swelling and itching and various other unwelcome side effects. I'm glad you're a Christian and, like you, I don't worry about myself because I know where I'm going, but I don't want to leave my wife alone. Prayers sent.
I have CHF and I went for a follow-up echo about 6 weeks ago and I was told that my ejection fraction was 25-30 which is not good. The doc asked if I was having shortness of breath, heart palpitations, or waking up at night not being able to breathe, to which I answered No! He suggested a defibrillator because I was going to die! I went to the hospital for gallbladder surgery a few weeks later and they did another echo and found my ejection fraction was 45 and I was cleared for surgery. I am fine now.
I learned when my oldest was in the NICU that you have to be your only best advocate and as a nurse, it is my job to advocate for my patients but I always tell them they are were best advocate
I had the blood clot issue, they said I was to young for that type of problems.the NP, just sent me home and said soak feet in Epsom salts. The blood clot moved and I almost lost my life when the clot went to my lungs, and provoked a stroke and other medical issues that left me permanently down . So glad to here a real doctor was able to help you out
Good news! Been thru that too with nurse practitioners and you are so very right. You have to know what's going on and speak up. Fortunately we have a great PCP that will listen to us also. Stay safe and God bless you all
I’m really glad you got positive results!! I totally agree with what u said about doctors and knowing your own body. God bless you and your family..!! I will keep praying 🙏🏻
AMEN, brother! I had a similar issues; went to a doc in the box when I had the Flu, and because of my history (nearly died of COVID pneumonia), they did a chest x-ray. No pneumonia this time, but the doc came back and said my heart was enlarged. That surprised me, because I too have always been active and was even an amateur body builder in years past. This being a doc in the box, he advised me to follow up with my pulmonary doctor who treated me after my COVID ordeal. He also did x-rays and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my heart. The medical industry is in a mess. Lots of wonderful people in it, but the bureaucracy has really screwed it up. Glad you're on the mend, and Praise God!
Being an advocate for yourself is critical in today’s healthcare system. It’s scary when things happen, I had the clinic call and arrange for me to go to the ER (I wasn’t allowed to drive myself) the first time I had cancer. The second time, I fired the “best” doctor for my condition at a major research university when he was dishonest with me about best practices (which he was not following). Luckily, I work in a clinic and quickly recognized when clinical staff was not acting my best interest, but rather what was most convenient for them. I had to do my own research and reach out to the top programs in the country to get the care I needed. Even there though, I had to be an advocate for myself.
Glad to know you're OK. My wife had the same thing happen to her last year or the year before. She was having shortness of breath due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires (the smell was pretty bad and we're pretty far down the Eastern Seaboard, not like we were in Buffalo or somewhere else near Canada, tells you how bad the smoke was) and I took her to the emergency room. They ran tests and found fluid around her heart and said she was in early stage "heart failure", but that wasn't the reason for the shortness of breath, it was her asthma acting up due to the smoke. After a few months of worry, and seeing a cardiologist who ran all kinds of tests, he pretty much ruled out heart failure. Actually, he ruled it out at the first appointment saying the ER doctor did not run the proper followup tests, but he did the tests out of an abundance of caution and they came up with everything being perfectly fine. Fast forward to "today" and she's still around expanding my "Honey do" list. 😄
@@ronblack7870 I just meant that the smoke was pretty strong even in states pretty far from Canada. I do recall seeing our local news coverage saying that NYC did have air quality problems because of the smoke from Canada, I am pretty sure this was the spring of 2023. I know there were some wildfires in NYS this past summer/fall that also affected air quality in NYC that we could smell, but nothing like the Canadian wildfires a couple of years ago.
Glad for the good news. I tend to call such episodic events as very distracting. As someone who gained weight because of medications I finally have gotten back to the weight I was on graduation day from high school. The problem is I was baling hay all summer for over five years. Muscle then fat now. I should lose more weight. It is critical to loose weight. If nothing else it will help with joints. Eat heavy foods, not processed. Eat less calories. The average American eats a pound of sugar everyday without realizing it. It’s buried in the processed foods. An example for your main meal is a good homemade vegetable soup, salad, a slice of very heavy bread and don’t forget a small dessert. Think car tire heavy for the bread. You’ll have to make it yourself. The goal is not to be hungry while eating less calories, maybe 10% less each day. Lower your fat to 20 grams a day with the guidance of a competent doctor. Mine has often spent well over an hour with me when meeting head to head. Sometimes we teleconference. In other words change your doctor and even the practice. You want a hands on doctor, a doctor that listens to your words, the way you speak, skin tone and all the other hands-on tools a doctor can use. My latest doctor just went through quadruple bypass surgery. The next office visit I spent over two hours helping to put his emotional state back together. All my medical team know and have seen that I watch over them as much as they watch over me. The last four doctors I kept urging them to retire even though it could have severely affect my medical care. So they made sure I had a replacement that they would use. If you don’t have this kind of relationship with your medical team, find new ones. All or most of your medical issues will disappear as you loose weight. I can tell from my own experience it is hard so on the official holidays take a day off from loosing weight. I don’t blame you for your weight problem, I blame the food industry. So fight back and don’t eat their crap. Maybe together we can get down to the weight we both should be at. Currently I’m at 196, I feel at my age, I was on a first name basis with Noah (I was on the shovel brigade) I feel I should be at about 140. Maybe you can make it a UA-cam campaign where you work with viewers to loose some weight. It could be another channel. All the best to you and yours.
I’m an ICU nurse who has worked in teaching hospitals for a decade. I can tell you there is a world of difference between the education of a medical doctor and a nurse practitioner and that difference is widening over time. NP schools have multiplied like weeds and the quality of the education and the nurses they accept are markedly lower than decades ago. You absolutely CANNOT diagnose chronic heart failure based on a chest X-ray alone. An echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) should have been done at a minimum to evaluate the function of each chamber and the pumping action (ejection fraction). Also, the fact that she didn’t do further work up to rule out a blood clot in your legs or the potential that a clot dislodged from your leg and moved to your lungs (a life threatening condition called pulmonary embolism) is malpractice. And a pulmonary embolism can cause acute (not chronic) heart failure. The enlarged heart on chest X-ray along with your concerns about blood clots and your respiratory symptoms should have led her to order an ultrasound of your legs, an echocardiogram, and potentially a CT angiogram of your lungs. This nurse practitioner is not only unsafe but also arrogant - a very dangerous combination. I’m guessing she had no critical care experience before jumping into NP school, which is not okay in my opinion. I’m so sorry you went through this and I’m glad you’re okay now!
I'm so happy it wasn't as serious as they thought. As a 60+ yr old person with a ton of medical problems and after spending time in the hospital so many times I started pushing back and questioning my doctors. Like you said, us folks who are 50+ have lived in our bodies a long time and we know how we tick. We know what does and doesn't work for us. It's hard to find a doctor who really listens to their patients. If you find one that does stay with them as long as you can. Best to you and yours.
Glad to hear you are ok Jeff. The entire medical and insurance industry feels really broken, but your point is well taken about being your own advocate. We've had to do that a lot in recent years for our children and have similar stories of frustration.
This is so timely for me. Just got out of surgery after back to back bouts in the ER. I’ve been signaling issues since the Fall and have received nothing but missed diagnoses and mixed messages. It finally came to a head - unfortunately in an acute way and they had to pay attention. This crap we hear about taking a careful, conservative approach is just an attempt to make you go away hoping that time heals. How about taking what we’re saying about our own bodies a bit more seriously? I’ve lived with mine for 70 years and think I know a bit about it!
Red, I was concerned seeing you in your living room for those few videos, but I told myself that you were in holiday mode. So, although you were experiencing health issues, I'm so relieved to know that God has you in his care. Shine on, you crazy diamond!
Thank GOD!! So happy for you and your family! Kinda going through same scenario, am getting incredibly frustrated, been taken test for 35 yrs! Godspeed
I have had Congestive Heart Failure 15 years ago brought on by a bacterial infection that started with bronchitis . I know what they were saying was scary, they even said I might need a pacemaker at the age of 39. Thank god I responded to the meds and did not need that at that age. They can also be wrong about these things, so a second opinion is always a good idea. I have been watching your stuff off and on for at least five years, and I am glad you got a somewhat clean bill of health. As you say, " Shine On"
Went through the EXACT same crap with my doctor. Heart specialist says long story short your heart is fine. When the skies are clear, I breathe fine. When this low cloud/fog is overhead.....I CAN'T BREATHE.
Thank you for sharing buddy! Self advocating with medical is extremely important. I spent Christmas in the hospital after a liver resection. I have been cancer free for 8 years. But, due to my pushing for a year we found my cancer showed up in my Liver. Nothing but positive thoughts!!
Good healthcare hard to find and get in rural MT and ND, etc. Lived in Western ND for 10 years just moved to Ohio. First month here, found out I was type II diabetic, my thyroid meds were to low, etc . . . all fixed now feeling 15 years younger. Amen- you are healling and Healthy!
That’s an amazing story. I’d be looking for a new provider. 2nd: I’ve always been told to treat the patient and not the x-ray. 3rd: The history you presented of a 14 hr car ride plus pain and swelling to your leg are classic symptoms for a blood clot.
Great advice! I've had some good nurse practitioners and some not so good. It all got bad after Obamacare. My primary care dr offered 2x/yr checkups. Yes, sir, sign me up! Otherwise, I never see him. Yes, be your own advocate is great advice! Glad you are doing ok. God bless you snd your family
I was scheduled for minor day surgery and the hospital demanded an EKG. At the last minute. So I get it done. The next day they call and say I have an abnormality and need approval from my doctor. This is two days before the surgery. My regular doc is not available but a colleague is available at the last minute. He looks at the EKG for about 15 seconds and says it's nothing. Someone else might have been terrified but I had gone through this before. Simply my normal. As for Congestive Heart Failure, it is not an immediate death sentence. My mother was diagnosed and it was controlled with meds. She passed about 8 years later, from something else, at age 98.
Hey Jeff, just got back in town and watching this video. I live in the southeast and for some reason this round of respiratory infections spreading this season easily(well, more easily than usual) turns into pneumonia or walking pneumonia. My cousin‘s son had a pretty nasty upper respiratory infection. The doctor put him on an antibiotic and a steroid. These infections aren’t Covid, but they are pretty nasty and tend to linger if your body can’t fight it off and like I said, turns into one of the types of pneumonia.
Back in the 1930’s the Dean of Harvard Medical College addressing a graduating class, famously said “ten years from now half of what you’ve learned here will be wrong or obsolete, and I can’t tell you which half.” It is still true.
Glad to hear that no real issues have been found and I do agree we must take charge of our own health care. So stay strong and as you say Shine on and yes keep praying. Thanks for the story and heads up about your health.
Very happy to hear you are OK. I had a similar story. Long story short my Dr decided to do an EKG because he got the machine and I'm sure charge the INS company for it. He's a GP not a specialist and the ones doing the test are techs, not specialist. Well, the tech saw something and decided it was urgent to see the heart dr. I had to wait 3 weeks and those 3 weeks were the worst. Finally see him and he's like, WTF are you even here. Moral of the story......don't trust the NP or the techs.....
That's great news, Jeff.God is good! When we make the decision to trust Him and accept what is happening, it's much easier to hear bad news. I went through it with lung cancer, and it was much easier to hear when I heard it. When my doctor t old me to see a pulmonologist I knew I had cancer. I just asked the pulmonary guy what to do he commented I should scream or cry I just asked why, because I knew God allowed it to happen, so I'll deal with it. Acceptance is a big help in treating anything, I think, so good for you, Jeff. You're a wise man. Thanks for sharing. I'll put you on my prayer 🙏 list. 😃😃😃😃😄❤❤❤❤❤
Our doctor retired last year and after dealing with two NPs and one D.O., we are DONE with that office. The NPs were late for their early morning appointments, i.e. they were late getting into the office, and they couldn't keep on topic throughout the appointments. So I then tried a D.O.. He obviously couldn't be bothered to read the chart, and asked me the same questions repeatedly. The medical records regarding my meds were supposedly updated with the first appointment (the NP). By the time I got to the D.O. and he wanted to put me on different meds, the records were so screwed up that I had to verify he was reading the correct patient's chart. He couldn't get out of the exam room fast enough. Follow-up appointment? Yeah right. We have used one of the urgent care clinics near our house, and the two NPs and MD were top notch. They took their time to do the job. I think we all need to realize that medical practices/clinics are based on insurance payments at piece-rate work. Medical practices/clinics are not practicing medicine, but practicing insurance. I've even been told this by a dear friend I grew up with, who is now an MD. He even pointed out that he was getting a kickback if he ordered specific tests. Like somebody said earlier, trust but verify, and CYA.
Blood thinners for life? I had my first DVT two months ago at age 69. The hospital did ultrasound on my leg, found clotting involving 3 veins, extending over like 15" from mid-calf up to mid-thigh. I'm on Xarelto for a 3 month course waiting for my body to hopefully dissolve some of the clotting. The Dr told me if I get another one, it's blood thinners for life.
I despise Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants because I've been told a lot of BS stuff as well in the past. Their only good for 1st aid / colds / flu / broken bones. If I have to see a specialist I will only see a Dr. I tell the offices I am referred to; if I can't see a actual DR each and every visit, then I'll go elsewhere where I can see a real Dr. No matter who your medical care person is, you have to indeed be your own advocate. I've had Doctors as well tell me things, I go home to talk to my friends which are Drs in other states / countries and do my own research. My Dr friends most of the times tells me Dr / NP / PA I seen was an idiot and I would do more harm than good if I listened to them. I have only had one great NP in a different state, ever since then they've nearly crimpled me, killed me or got me hooked on pharm. meds.
Wow good to hear your doing good. Thank you Jesus!! I agree with you 100% you have to be your own doctor so to speak. I've been fighting Crohn's for 25 years now and I couldn't tell you how many times I had to correct my doctor let alone the nurse. I moved and had to get a new gastro doctor and he was so prideful. I told him I like my old doctor the first visit and he comes back with "and now your stuck with me" I've always been quick minded so I said "well that could be a good thing" long story longer I had to fire him! Now the bad thing is I have no gastro doctor. LOL
So glad to hear you're doing better, Jeff. God Bless! Sounds like you need to fire your doctor... I ended up doing that back in 2021 due to some dumb things they were doing during those times (you can probably guess).
Happy to hear, we've had things like that happen with our last doctor. Had chest pains for while on and off and was told pulled muscle, 2 days later I almost died of a heart attack. Needless to say new practice
I had congestive heart failure in 2013 and said I had 5 years to live , I stopped all carbs sugars seed oils fast food just ate more meet less fruits to lower my blood sugar ate more butter and eggs , I am fine now .
At least you had the heart test, I went in for a routine stress test and they found a heart murmur, my aortic valve was replaced six months later. I was asymptomatic and felt fine and riding my bike two weeks before the operation
So glad you’re OK, man! Been following your channel for almost five years and feel like I know you and your family. So, the relief is genuine. Keep the great videos coming!
sorry that happened to you ,, personally i will never trust a nurse practitioner after the last one told me i could not get surgery for my shoulder and refused to give me a surgeon referral . I had my PCP give me a referral and the surgeon said it was the most common shoulder surgery performed ( torn rotator cuff),, btw,, she also treated me like crap and refused to let me talk to my Dr.. Needless to say that was my last visit to that practice
Glad that you are healthy! Sorry you and the family had to go through the stress of the misdiagnosis though! Have a great New Year, and God Bless you and your family!
Amen brother. Thank god youre ok. I never take anything doctors tell me at face value if i feel theyre wrong or may be missing something. Its your right to question and seek second opinions. 🙏
I am so glad and relieved that you are doing well. There are always those medical staffers that always error on the far side of the spectrum that make us worry to no reason. Best of health to you and your family!
Had a similar scare - EKG showed an inverted spike that can be an indicator of a heart attack (had experienced no issues like that) so off to a bunch of testing. After several tests it was determined to be heart wall thickening due to high blood pressure (which I have been taking meds for for about 20 years already). Also found out my arteries have no clogging. 54 year old here, btw.
I went through something similar. Was having heart palpitations and went to the doc. They did an echocardiogram, a 48 hr holter monitor, ekg, and it all came back fine. They decided to also do a treadmill stress test and on a Friday afternoon I got the results that I had a major blockage and I needed to follow up asap. Turns out those tests are wrong as much as they are right and doctors keep doing them. After a CT scan, they determined my heart palpitations were from the sugar alcohols that were in my keto bars lol. If I listened to that doctor I would be on statins and seeing a heart surgeon 😂. Always trust but verify. Before doing any procedure or taking a new medicine, do a ton of research.
Well... I was diabetic for 25 years, I was going blind, I had leg ulcers that wouldn't heal, I needed a knee replacement, I had a partially torn rotator cuff. I was on over 300 units of Insulin, nearly 500lbs, and had AIC's in the 14's. I had strokes... I was dying slowly but surely. I am no longer diabetic, my knee and shoulder have healed. I sometimes go on 10 mile walks. I have lost over 200 lbs, I had a complete heart workup and it is all good and there are no blockages (they did a cta scan). What did I do. Just eat meat. All the meat I want anytime I am hungry. Just meat. I now eat a few veggies now an then, but still mostly meat. I ride coasters with my family all over the country with my family, and I love life. My sleep s amazing. All my blood work is good. I still have some high BP and I take meds for it, but is has just been the last pesky thing to heal up. I am off all other meds. My vitamin D is in the 120's now, I don't take any supplements.
Glad to hear you're okay! Frustrating dealing with an arrogant Dr or rep who turns out to be woefully wrong! Hope you passed that msg back to the Dr office that you got bad info on both counts!
I fell and hit my head back in June and landed in the hospital in upstate NY with seizures. Was released a week later on a Friday. On Monday I got another seizure and went to my local hospital in NYC. Now this is also a teaching hospital and considered one of the best in NYC. Two of the interns said it was related to my fall. I had slight bleeding on the brain but was told the brain is like a sponge and will absorb the blood over time. The 3rd intern said I had meningitis! I told him I want to speak to the head doctor on duty and he confirmed that my seizure was due to my fall. They increased my anti seizure medication and so far so good thanks to God. I told him that that 3rd intern should go back to school. I was so pissed. I couldn’t imagine taking a call and being told nothing serious you have congestive heart failure start working on your funeral arrangement 😮Stay well my friend
Happy new year Red, glad to hear that at least you have a clean bill of health! I know the problem of getting doctors to prescribe you the drugs you’re sure you need to clear up your conditions. Happens to me here a lot too I know if I don’t take care of a cold it will eventually turn into pneumonia if I’m not on antibiotics. Mike from Montreal.
Good grief man, what an ordeal but I'm glad everything turned out ok. I find some medical professionals are extremely arrogant and I agree you need to stand your ground.
Im sorry for the trouble you went through. I'm very happy that you are good and well. I enjoy your content and knowledge. Hope you had a good Christmas and happy new year
Amazing news. Im sorry you had to go through so much stress to then find you were fine. As a paramedic I often treat people with congestive heart failure. I’ve had a similar experience with a NP going rouge and diagnosing me off a single photo only to then have a specialist look and say no, they were wrong. Happy news.
Fantastic news/outcome. As you were recounting your experience , it brought back memories of my close call with a misdiagnosis. I've had ongoing lower back issues stemming from an injury being on the High School wrestling team. I was having an episode of severe back pain, and they did an x-ray my lower back, minutes after it was done the Radiologist came out to catch me before I left, asking if I was having any pain in my upper right leg, to which I said no. A few days later a got a call from my Doctor's office saying I needed to make an appointment to come in to talk about the results of the x-ray... not a good sign when they refuse to discus something over the phone. So I go into the appointment, whereupon my doctor shows me the x-ray. The x-ray plate position when they did the back x-ray had extended low enough to capture an image of my upper right leg femur bone,,. There was a spot about the size of a walnut on the upper femur and the diagnosis was bone cancer. My doctor then started talking about scheduling as soon as possible, the amputation of my right leg before the cancer has a chance to spread to my to my hip. I was in total shock, left the Doctors office and went home. I told my brother what had just happened, he said don't do anything yet, you need to get a second opinion. His wife came from a family of semipro-tennis players, and they had an orthopedic surgeon that they insisted I see. So, to make a long story short, He looked at the x-ray and said you do not have bone cancer, but likely a benign bone cyst. He said we'll do a "watchful wait" with my leg getting x-rayed every month. The shape and size of the cyst did not change, I was then x-rayed every 3 months afterwards for the rest of the year. Nothing changed, and specialist said if it hasn't changed in a year, it's not going to, and what was picked up on the x-ray was the result of a cyst that resolved itself, no telling when it happened, but it left the bone scarred. So, by all means... you absolutely have to take responsibility for and manage your care, push back , ask questions, do your own research and by all means, get a second opinion on any serious or potentially life threatening diagnosis. Had I just taken the first Doctor at his word, I would be missing my right leg... but here it is 50 years later and I'm doing just fine, but I sure ducked a big bullet.
Some people just live to be the bearers of bad news. Makes their day. Makes them feel important. I work with a guy like that. Those people should not be reading x-rays or counseling patients. Glad you have once again survived the medical system.
You need to stop seeing nurse practitioners who also work part time at Harbor Freight.

I don't wanna hear it
@ oh okay. So I guess just eat right and don’t be fat. Just like change your oil with good quality oil and change out your fluids every 60k miles. This dude is morbidly obese. He needs to take care of himself by eating correctly and exercise at the bare minimum.
Also I work in the medical field. Believe me most doctors just throw things at the wall and see what sticks. You’re practically a science experiment.
Doctors told me I was going to die in 1990. They were a little off in the diagnosis
How long did it take before you did die?
@KameraShy I will let you know at my funeral
That’s why it’s called “practicing” medicine. Unfortunately egos get in the way for some and they refuse to listen to the patient
I tell people all the time, "Don't be afraid to fire your doctor!" Sound like its time you need to fire your doctor.
@jeremybryant1976 Bet you voted for trump. Live in an echo chamber.

Thank you for telling your story, and how we must be our own advocates. I'm glad to hear your good news, despite the challenges required to get there.
Good for you brother. Beat Cancer as of 2 months ago.
That’s fantastic, congratulations!
2 months??? Dude... keep your healthy habits, and don't jinx it...
2 months is a little too soon to be sure it's truly in remission. As congratulatory as I want to be, I think you're better served being warned.
@ I know my first month clear it was prostate and I just gave my 3 month blood test for PSA doctor visit Tuesday 🤞
Much prayers for you, Kevin!!!!
5 years ago a gastroenterologist diagnosed me with a hereditary disease where I don’t get rid of iron because my iron levels were
high.
It’s called medical “practice” for a reason.. Glad you’re okay 👍🏼
That’s great!
So it was the gallbladder causing the lower ef numbers? Just curious because my father has CHF
You were not trying hard enough on the first ejection fraction.
Stay safe and God bless you all
I'm glad to hear you are doing better. I had my own health scare Christmas day. I am working on my own health.
Been through 2 heart cath's. Both came back no heart attacks, no blockages. I feel your frustration... Glad you're ok, brother. Shine on!!!
Thankful to hear that you're doing well and got cleared of CHF. PTL!
i live in buffalo . i didn't notice any smoke from the wildfires,.
Man you are so right ! If you do not advocate for yourself you are in trouble . Glad that you are okay .
Starting to avoid NP’s this year for similar reasons ! Happy to hear you received great news ! Happy New Year !!
So glad you are doing better! You have your faith in the right place for sure! 🙏 Praying a 100% recovery for you! God Bless brother!
Glad your all good and glad that you will still be doing your channel cause UA-cam would be missing one of the best my friend. God bless brother.
Good for you! The medical industry is out of control.
Glad to hear you are ok Jeff. The entire medical and insurance industry feels really broken, but your point is well taken about being your own advocate. We've had to do that a lot in recent years for our children and have similar stories of frustration.
Congratulations on the good news! It's good to see you back in the shop. Keep the faith!✌️
Thanks! I’m happy to be back. I am so behind on stuff you have no idea. 🤣
I had the same experience, what a rip-off... Being that I have a high deductible health plan, my final bill out of pocket was over $5000 dollars.
How about accountability for that Nurse Practitioner? I wonder how many other Patients that she has put in undue Danger?
Good for you! I think a good attitude about stuff like that is your best weapon.
You would be feeling much worse if you were in heart failure.
Congrats and great to hear Red!
This is good news, Jeff! Glad you're going to be ok. Getting a good physician is more challenging than ever. It's really a concern.
Maybe the bills for all those tests should be send to the Nurse Practitioner.
As someone who has dealt with DVT Phlebitis since I was 19 years old (68 now), I KNOW what you're going through. Praying for ya Bear !
God has a plan for all of us. Prayers to you Brother. Shine on.
I had a similar experience this past couple of months. Everything happens for a reason.
So happy for you and your family that you are feeling and doing better. Happy New Year and shine on.
LOL
Sorry to hear about the ordeal you had to go through but very glad that it turned out you are OK.
Glad you're ok, that's scary!
@@denoftools thanks
So glad to hear that you are doing better!!!
I had congestive heart failure in 2013 and said I had 5 years to live , I stopped all carbs sugars seed oils fast food just ate more meet less fruits to lower my blood sugar ate more butter and eggs , I am fine now .
Super glad all has turned out well!! Blessed you are!! 👏
Sue that doctor for scaring the hell out of you.
That's certainly great news! Take care of yourself, be your own advocate and live on to inform us for another 40 years!
sorry that happened to you ,, personally i will never trust a nurse practitioner after the last one told me i could not get surgery for my shoulder and refused to give me a surgeon referral . I had my PCP give me a referral and the surgeon said it was the most common shoulder surgery performed ( torn rotator cuff),, btw,, she also treated me like crap and refused to let me talk to my Dr.. Needless to say that was my last visit to that practice
Glad to hear you are better , thank you for the the update . God Bless you and your family !
I was once told I had congestive in heart failure. It turns out I did not. It just "went away".
Doctors can be wrong. Remember we were told Joe Biden was in perfect health and in just a short time later we had Kamala.
We are told only what they want us to hear. The media and the present administration are in bed together.
Yeah, I had a conversation with them about this and politely, but in no uncertain terms told them exactly how I felt.
Glad it turned out well! Good way to start the New Year!
Just glad that you are good. Stay healthy and Shine On!!
Im happy for you and the family Red !! God Bless m friend!
So happy to hear you're OK! Early in the video I was wondering because I've had blood clots for almost no reason at all. But in any case, take care!
Glad to hear the good news. God bless you and your family.
Some people just live to be the bearers of bad news. Makes their day. Makes them feel important. I work with a guy like that. Those people should not be reading x-rays or counseling patients. Glad you have once again survived the medical system.
