Just a tip to add when doing a cutout find some cardboard like find some one who has just bought a large appliance like a fridge then you can make suitable templates to trace onto wood. Saves so much time and fine tuning. You only have to find tune the cardboard shape not the wood. Then you can lay them all out to check fitting and do all your cuts at the same time.
Wow glad to see you back ..looking forward to next week . Your amazing experience is our experience too. Congratulations on your second child ,what an adventure he or she will have ... keep safe mate...kev from northern Thailand
Cool mate, great vid once again, the extra info on the little boat was very helpful, as others have all said has given me some great ideas for a refit of an old 1980 Clarke 4.29 abalone I have wondered what to do with for years! Thanks again mate! Top quality presentation I’ve again! Yew!!
Well done mate great to see you explain the fit out well so a dum sparky can follow a smart chippy. Good luck with No.2 young one hope all goes well! Another boy eh? Cheers.
Love watching your vids !!!.....our boat isn't a tinny but still got some great help/ideas to help make our boat flow a little smoother....Cheers.....sending well wishes for bub number 2 :)
Sorry guys I have invited you to my work shop ( 8 Victoria Street cairns ) unfortunately I have closed down due to circumstances...... I have no work shop and I have filed under the house and back yard with all my engineering and welding gear. So therefor I'm at a loose ends. It would be great to catch up when you are in the FNQ. Thanks for the great entertainment. Yeooo
Love watching you guys! One question on your tinny fit out. With the 40mm pvc tubes through the seat, obviously the front of boat is curved, how do you get the pvc to line up from front to rear on that curve?
Hey Darrel. Iv just drawn a square line across the top of the seat and down the other side and then measured down to the same distance each side of the seat. If that doesn't work because it hits the gunnels then just parallel off the gunnels and drill through on that Slight angle, Then fit the tube on an angle. The rod will bend up into there no worries.
Lift the rod to 12.00 they will be a back drift to 1.00. So when the fly is on water. You lift the line up then a gentle flick to 12.00. When it right then double haul. Then side cast with stop. Fly line goes stright out and end turns around a object.
Not sure what video it was as I have been binge watching but you showed how deep a maxtrax can get buried just seen on step outside Tv show they suggested tying a metre or so of rope to them (bright coloured) just a tip I seen thought I’d share. Don’t know how useful as I don’t go 4wdriving just a mad fisherman
Maximizing utility in a relatively small space requires quite a bit of planning and thought. I think you have successfully met that challenge. Appreciate the breakdown. Now for your next task: onboard satellite dish with a 50" flatscreen. I have confidence in you. ;o) Thanks again for an informative vid!
No I haven’t. A company called Cutting Edge Canvas (Mike) made it for me. Just sail track across the bow and then those elastics with lugs down the gunnels and stern
Nice walkthrough Nate, planning very similar build on my roof topper I just scored for $300, can you share a link to those bungee rod holders for the butts, I’m struggling to find any with the clip on off part cheers. Also I think after we do lake field this year a trip further north with my little tinny will be planned similar to the Wenlock run, that has become a trip I’ve rewatched about 3 times lol cheers and looking forward to more of your great trips

Hey guys great videos, you guys are livin! What thickness marine ply did you go with? 12mm? Going to make my tinny a winter project so it's ready for summer! Thanks for the inspo 🤙
Started the build today. Mainly cutting ply to size, taking measurements etc. Installing a T off area up front for biodegradable golfballs and installing a berley/golfball canon on a swivel up front made of copper. (Should look cool- and provide some fun) When you framed the front seat area to make it higher with h3, how did you fix it down?
@@jedkates5857 Wow, sounds cool! what are these gold balls made of? All natural stuff? Good question mate, cant remember but the first thing that comes to mind is countersink some holes into the top edge of the H3 framing about 30mm deep. one at each end and one in the middle. sika flex along the base and then put some 75mm roofing screws down into the aluminium seat. Pre drill first obviously or use metal tip screws. hope this helps
Literally going to build pretty well the same setup. How thick is your ply and did you do aluminium framework or all treated pine. Sick videos keep up the adventures.
Awesome mate, it’s a pretty practical setup, don’t think I’d actually change much. I used 12mm ply and a mix of ally angle and timber frame. The only line framing is to frame up above that fro t seat. The rest is ally with sika and pop rivets 👌🏼 thanks mate will do 🤙🏼
@@WildReaches do you have any detailed videos on the gear you use, rods, type of line lures what you use what for. Or would you make a video like that at all ?
Hey guys how did you frame up the rear casting deck ? How did you build the initial structure to then put the marine ply on top and hinges etc... Thanks. Love the vids Great work, keep it up
Hey Michael, aluminium angle mate. I ran aluminium angle 12mm lower than the seat height around the seat, gunnels and transom. Sika flex and pop rivets to fit it on. 👌🏼
Now I let the cat out of the bag. I meet this man Jack Dennis and I told him some of my funny stories fly fishing. He ask me to come over to US to fish with him and if his neighbour if he is free will join us. Harrison Ford. He used to have a shop in the rocky mountains. ua-cam.com/video/dAEP9T21-2E/v-deo.html He ties great flies.
So good to see you back in the bush and up small creeks.

If you go to 12.00 the line will go high. Gravity. Away from trees behind. Side cast puts a bow.
As a fan of the videos, if I have one frustration it is that the go pro lenses are always dirty. Makes for hard viewing in my opinion.
Thanks Brent. I agree mate, we’ll come with a solution for this next season as we’re constantly wiping them but it’s obviously not enough. 👌🏼
How's the false floor supported?
Mostly aluminium angle
Are the aft hatches watertight?
No, bloody close though
No bilge pump ?
We carry a portable 12v bilge with alligator clips
