These are troubled times, I hope you all stay safe and look after your loved ones. All my thoughts to those who were affected and all my solidarity to those fighting the disease. When the world seems to loose all kind of meaning, art helps people change perspective and understand the incomprehensible. So, let's not give up on art and knowledge ! Take care everyone !
ive been struggling with mouths for years now, i just couldn't understand the "doughnut" shape and somehow in one video you managed to make it clear for me, thank you. you are a good artist and a great teacher
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I just started trying to draw/paint portraits and quickly discovered the hardest part of the face to get right was the mouth so I watched a few YT vids to get help and one video I came across quoted a famous portrait artist as describing portraits as "A portrait is a painting with something wrong with the mouth". 😆
Thank you very much for your generosity Florent, right now im not able to pay for courses, and I'm self studying drawing as a first step towards sculpture, and after watching this video I applied immediately with very good results! the superior quality of your work and teaching is very noticieable. I hope that in the future I can do more than help with likes and comments.
Hi I love your teaching. Thak you. On the do and donts is better, for me, to use the same drawing for the dont and the does. In your example you use two different drawings.
I don’t strive for realism in my drawings/paintings. Even so, your tips were INCREDIBLY useful! I’ve watched so many drawing tutorials and this video has so much information that I’ve never seen before. Thank you!
This is a fantastic video, thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills, some of these principles may apply to the other facial features more generally as well, such as avoiding hard outlining and thinking to the bone and muscle structure underneath. Thanks again and I hope you are safe where you are!
Thank you so much for posting this insightful, informative, and inspiring video. I learned some new terms and re-confirmed the principle of "Not drawing outlines." I have been watching your videos for a while now and your explanations are always straightforward and clear. Your talent through hard work is evident! Guess who got a new subscriber? ;-)
A really good video. I learned some new words and in all my many years I've never come across someone who actually said 'don't draw a line.' This is incredibly useful. Do you find wrinkles or lack of wrinkles in a drawing sometimes becomes a question of 'vanity' for the subject rather than recording what you see? Keep safe.
Not to mention that the area around the mouth has clompex groups of muscled hence why we got these shapes. I struggled a long time with lips. now it's gotten easier
displaying the bad drawing in full front and then a better drawing in almost profile is a very very bad idea. I would go as far as calling it really useless. if you would have taught proper comparision between bad and good drawing, both facing front and profile or either one, would have been much more helpful.

I love your sense of humor don’t draw creepy teeth we need to laugh during quarantine in NYC
Your art is fantastic in all regards. One beginner question: how do you get the proportions so friggin' perfect?
