So cool to see how technical they are… these days every move is so theatrical and flamboyant, it’s pretty cool to just see them try to break each other with submission holds and quick attacks. I still love modern day wrestling… but it’s hard to beat stuff like this 🙌
Wasn't Young Lion gear...that was his gear at the time. Bret was not a Young Lion in New Japan since he didn't go to the New Japan Dojo. He was just there for the tour since Stu Hart had a deal with Antonio Inoki to bring Bret in, along with other talent from Stampede. Particularly those from Stampede that had prior experience in New Japan and drew money there....Dynamite Kid and Bad News Allen for instance. If you already know all this, disregard.
what a match...tiger mask doesn't get enough credit for really innovating and popularizing the aerial assault to what we know it would become in the 90s. haha that image of bret walkin that aisle with the cowboy hat on will stick with me

it's a little weird how his moves didn't really catch on in america for about 15 years. all the sudden in the middish 90s we saw everyone doing what tiger mask had been doing 20 years earlier

For awhile, tiger mask didnt let bret do any moves except punch. Finally saw a few future hitman moves late in the match.
