You know what pisses me off more than just about anything? I'm gonna tell you! Lol
The fact that sex offenses are not given stiffer punishments! I don't care if it's the first offense. In fact, the first offense should call for many years, so if there is a chance for "rehabilitation", you'll see once they finally get out. But when they get like months or probation or some other bullshit for any kind of sex crime, peeping Tom's, for instance, they never decrease in severity, do they? All they get is a slap on the wrist until they become serial rapists/murderers, by then, it is too late and they've left so much death and destruction in their wake. Nobody can ever make me understand how stupid the "justice" system is.

    • @haileyranson8255

I totally agree! Another thing that really gets me is that people get such minimum sentences for ‘attempted rape’. Why the hell do they get leniency just because they weren’t successful despite trying? It should be equal sentencing for attempted rape and rape!

i won't deny that this man is a demon from hell, but we have to think about people who are wrongfully convicted as well. we all know false convictions are so prevalent when it comes to poc, ESPECIALLY black and brown men, so we shouldn't be calling for tighter laws when we know the justice system is so biased towards white individuals. but if evidence is undeniable, then yeah, those people should be facing a punishment worse than death.

Back then, reality shows just didn't do background checks or any real vetting process. All you had to do was be charming and look good so that's probably why Rodney Alcala was able to get on the show.
I also think people just didn't expect someone who was so charming and good looking to be a murderer. I mean, look at how people reacted to Ted Bundy. Even now, I think many of us believe we'd be able to know if someone's a terrible person just by looking at them which is why so many people still get away with doing terrible things.
This is such a horrible case. I hope all of his victims are identified one day and their families get closure. Love your videos as always 💗

When I was 11, I would spend my summers near the public pool by my house. There was a man who watched me and one day he approached me showing me all the cool tech things he had (Phones, Tablets, A mini TV type thing). He told me I could come back to his place and watch movies, I was scared so initially I said "Sure! I'll just quickly go home to bring us snacks for our movie day. Wait here, I'll be right back!" And I left and didn't ever go back there. We live in such a scary world. I'll be so paranoid when I have kids.

The addresses 427, 429, 431 and 433 East 83rd are all one big building with different front entrances, but all connected together on the basement level by a hallway. It would have been so easy for him to come in and leave without being noticed. I knew so much about Rodney but didn't know he committed a crime where I live. That's so crazy!!!

I don't know your background but as someone who's experienced an emotional neglect, I feel I can understand the drive/need/feel to hurt others, it's just I try not to act on it. As a kid, the drive was way stronger and I did act on it on some occasions (never to the point of killing but hurting on purpose, yes). I can imagine growing without any people showing you love and abusing you badly instead can easily result in not having anything to stop you from acting on it. Also, it doesn't even have to be abuse happening later on (meaning the person can remember being abused), it can simply be a deprivation happening as a baby, therefore there is no recollection of being deprived of nurture, contact, attention, having a reliable adult creating a safe environment etc.
What I'd find more interesting would be to understand is what makes the difference in how abused people turn out.
Also, if you looked at my background, you'd probably say I'm coming from a normal family (parents working, all basic needs met, no apparent abuse), so without looking deeper it might look there's no reason for the actions mentioned above. But there really is... it's just not so obvious. So, to me, coming from seemingly normal family and having normal upbringing... it might not be as true as it seems. Of course there's always the possibility of being born "abnormal" but I mainly meant people being born healthy/normal but being damaged by the people around them.

If something feels “not quite right” it probably is! At a wedding once at a hotel, an old man in a wheelchair by the lemonade and water asked me (9-10 yo) to come chat with him at a table. Yes, there were tons of people around, and yes he seemed kind. But I had that feeling. It’s not quite right. So I excused myself to the bathroom and then found the nearest adult I knew. You never know what could happen, so be super careful my friends! Edit: The bride and groom did not know the old gentleman I described to them, so we assume he was just staying at the hotel that night and wanted some food and lemonade from the reception. I think he was just old and wanted to have an honest chat (I looked way older than I was) but I was noooot willing to take that chance.

Wow! Watching this video just infuriated me at our justice system here in the States. I recognize that everyone deserves and should receive a fair trial. But how many times did this sick monster get away on technicalities and go on to murder yet other innocent young women and children? I'm with you...they had the pictures, they had his ID, they found a victim at his apartment, yet he gets off on a technicality. How many of his victims would still be alive if they had not been deterred by these minor issues when they had so much evidence against him anyway? It is so frustrating that at times it seems the perpetrator is their main focus to be fair with than the actual victims who suffered. Great job on this case/video!

About Roman Polanski : at the last Cesar ceremony (the french version of an Oscar) he had 12 nominations and did recieve awards. The ceremony was widely criticized (but sadly not enough since he managed to keep the awards). Even Florence Foresti, a french comedian who presented the ceremony stated during the ceremony how uncomfortable she was with the idea of potentially having to give him an award. Adele Haenel, one of his victims, was present and had to leave the ceremony when he was given the award, because she was so upset
