Anthony Arillotta discussed his survival despite cooperating with authorities against the mob while continuing to live in Springfield. I'm pretty sure Franzese has been back to Brooklyn a number of times since ratting but obviously he's not going to stroll through his old neighborhood by himself like nothing is different. He's too high-profile and his dad still has a lot of respect among those guys, but this isn't the 1980's anymore either. Those guys aren't leaving bodies on the street and going about violence like that anymore in NYC since they get enough attention and indictments dropping even staying under the radar.

Plenty of murders still go unsolved. Cameras don't work as well as people think they do. Most camera footage is blurry from a distance. If I was shot in front my house I doubt my camera could show the make and model of the getaway car. Cameras are basically useful if you already have a suspect in mind or someone that can identify the person on camera.

For your information, only 50% of all homicides in America are solved. It has actually decreased since 1980 which was around 70%. That's with all the new cameras and new technology out there.
