Most likely it was suspected due to lack of prenatal care as she was shunned by her mum after being impregnated by a relative sadly, It was decided thus to give her a new start in life with her dad. ps. She has openly talked about all this in her shows and interviews.

I never knew any of Oprahs story or anything but I've started watching videos about him and I tell ya , he was a very loved by his community and a hard worker and I hate I'm just now learning about his story and life..Like one can only hope they do enough good in his life for his fellow man that he is beloved as much as he was.

She was sent to live with him at 13 or 14 when she was a wayward teen in Milwaukee. He raised her in Tenessee and straighten her out as he was strict
