I built Sampo, not primarily for Kafka, but his rizz, his change stance from normal attack pose to skill attack pose, he leans back and thrusts his hips forward. Do it in 1x speed. Ugh. 🤤🤤🤤
Fun thing for Sampo in Simulated Universe is that his E4 counts as DoT triggers for the Nihility blessings that heal and restore energy, so you don't even need a healer sometimes.
You should try using Asta with Himeko on enemies with fire weaknesses 😃 she makes up for what Himeko lacks (speed and the need to break enemy weaknesses fast)
I just finished watching the Sampo video guide. One thing I like about Sampo in his combat is that if you want to deal wind DOTs, you can with both and especially in manual battles, you can quickly switch strategies to make the most of the skill points based on the action order. Flexible options during battles are very advantageous as you have all the time to think. I've got a lot of relics with good substats so it's also easy to slot in anything. Excited to have him around with Kafka and Serval and/or Himeko is a 4 dot team in simulated universe with some good blessings and curios to keep everyone alive without a healer (a life in the edge team after party switches with the downloader) Awesome guide Sevy! I enjoyed it very much.
The funny part about Sampo is that he was among my first 4*s on launch. I love playing DoT teams in turn based games, so having him and Serval as my backup team when I wanted to have some fun with a screen full of numbers was the greatest. So excited that Kafka is coming very soon with the DoT units as her 4* companions! Thank you for making this guide too, as I have been jumping between Atk and EHR Sampo more times than he up and vanished in the Belobog story! 😂

It's worth adding that Imprisonment and Entanglement have anti-synergy with DoTs, as they slow the frequency of enemy turns. Whereas Freeze increases the number of turns an enemy takes. There's a special opportunity cost with SW who you typically want to build for Breaking, but you don't usually want to break when paired with Kafka, as her skill can't trigger Entanglement break, but can trigger the normal DoTs. This turn frequency situation gets flipped when looking at Kafka; who wants the DoTs and Debuffs to last as long as possible so she can detonate more times in a debuff window. Of course, balancing the two so that you are freezing (gepard/march, no break) and imprisoning (welt, no break) in coordination with debuff windows is just a piloting problem to be aware of.
The banner keeps giving me Sampo so I am going to build him. His skills look fun. Also I have to say this is the only channel I watch for Genshin and Star Rail builds because of how easy to understand your guides are. Your pronunciation is clear and not too fast. I “built” sampo a long time ago to help me get through kafka’s world in SU. Meaning I threw some okay artifacts on him and half leveled them but he’s been carrying me through that world since then (and some overworld boss fights). I know SU buffs everyone but sampo on the nihility path is cracked. He’s very fun to use so considering his rate up, I might try to snatch a few eidolons. Plus, I think it’s time for me to refine his build 😅.
I have been a Sampo main since the beginning and finally got him E6 with a S4 Fermata. He is so so so much fun, and I always pair him with Gepard for security and alternate Silver Wolf/Bronya and Welt/Jing Yuan as needed. I'm much less into all the stat thinking overall and just try to figure out how to get Sampo to work lmao. Still no Kafka, but hopeful she comes home
Revisiting this guide and I'm rlly glad you mention the pan galactic planar set. I'm looking at revamping my sampo as I have some 4 star relics still on him. I also rlly enjoy the idea of break sampo so gonna use a break effect rope.

I felt like Sampo was a very overlooked character as he’s not really not much one of the best Nihility’s before Kafka’s release. The good thing about him is buffing IX, Resonance of Nihility in Herta SU. But since Kafka’s arrival, Sampo became really strong with her.
a little comment on pairing Sampo with Pela, you might want to go for the ERR requirements that use 2 basics (12:36) since I found that Pela usually uses 2 skills for her rotations, but this is only a concern if Kafka's on the team since Serval only needs to use her skill to apply Shock again

One point I would add to 7:14 that is more on account building, because Sampo tilts towards non crit stats and the fact that sets are not as important in this game vs. GI, it would be best to throw all the ATK/EHR/Break pieces on him if your substats roll that way and leave the crit pieces on the other DPS in your account, that way you are all covered no matter which way the RNG rolls

With the information you provided, I feel like Kafka is now a nice to have, not necessarily a must have with the shift to DOT/Nihility meta game. For instance, I could see having him on a team with silver wolf, welt, and a healer could still help with enjoying the DOT play style without Kafka.

Let it be known the true form of DoT teams is actually Break teams. Without the need for crit chasing, and with easy access to attack buffs from multiple sources, the gains from break effect in the build are ASTRONOMICAL, especially the first percentages in contrast to having no break effect. But of course, only one of your units should be specialized in it, preferably a wind or physical unit because their break dot is the strongest. The best build path I've found is Eyes of Prey + Pan galactic for a chunk of your EHR needs and making the stat into more value by converting some to attack. But pan galactic does suck to farm, so there's an argument for using garbage you get from farming other worlds and synthesizing until you get lucky. That leaves a small amount of ehr substats left. Always break effect rope, because you want to hold ulti to guarantee he breaks the enemy, so you can afford any amount of rounds this will take based on your skill point economy. You build the usual dot stats on main pieces, but on thief set, and finding break effect and speed substats wherever you can.
Thanks for the guide! Wish I had Sampo at e4, but alas, Imbibitor Lunae calls ;w; (Personally I'm running 4pc Thief+Talia+s5 Fermata on Sampo. Break effect is situational and I'm about to put us in a situation.)
Using pearls LC on my Sampo because i got lucky with high EHR rolls on his relics with ATK% body. His AOE def breaks are so good, on single target DEF debuffs are almost 100%.

I'm going to be running Kafka on her signature light cone most likely, since I have enough pulls (just gotta win 75/25) I have alternatives such as Fermata(s2) and Silver Wolf's free lightcone(s5) For team members I hope I get a copy of Sampo, but Luka might have to suffice. I will be running Asta in my third slot as an attack buffer and speed buffer for the whole team (I have her E1 so even better) I'm not sure about sustainability, I've got some options like Natasha, Bailu, and Gepard. I'll probably use Gepard for the skill point generation but we'll see.

I was planning on pulling Kafka anyway but ironically I pulled Sampo off the standard banner today with the pulls I got from reaching the last equilibrium level. I just finished building Bronya but I guess it is back to bullying the wind centaur.

Ive been building Sampo in my own way in my first account pairing him with serval, but I changed my acc after a shi ton of luck was bestowed to me when I made new account. I got Luka 2 times at kafka's banner and i was quite fine already and wasnt planning to get sampo since I had him befpre on my first acc but this morning, using a free ticket, I got him. And now, I gotta find new ways to make him work with my Yanqing.
running Fleet of Ageless with an abundance character, sampo and luca is a good choice. since the atk buff in that ornaments can stack. haha then i will run Kafka with space sealing station.
My team will consist of Kafka, Sampo, Luka and bailu. I decide on Luka instead of asta because speed isnt really a problem since I managed to get relics with decent speed substats and mains stats on the boost. Pela was a option but then again luka applies the same debuff plus with his lightcone he can apply it without using his ultimate I believe, also think him and sampo will be sp neutral since their DoT last so long so Kafka can still use her skill more often. Running fleet of the ages on everyone and the space sealing station set on kafka.
Thinking of pulling a bit on Kafka banner because Sampo is the only 4* character I'm missing But debating between trying to get him (especially now that Blade is covering my wind needs where Dan Heng couldn't) and going for Imbibitor Lunae:)

Sampo and Himiko pair really well together since he is good at breaking defenses. I use him alot farming normal mobs daily with her.
Yeah, my world team since day 1 was sampo, himeko and serval. They covered most things except for silvermane guards before 1.2.
I personally use Sampo and Himeko and clear Simulated Universe with Nihility Path

Ive been building Sampo in my own way in my first account pairing him with serval, but I changed my acc after a shi ton of luck was bestowed to me when I made new account. I got Luka 2 times at kafka's banner and i was quite fine already and wasnt planning to get sampo since I had him befpre on my first acc but this morning, using a free ticket, I got him. And now, I gotta find new ways to make him work with my Yanqing.
Hopefully I can get a couple copies on him. I need my DOT team to carry on my second MOC team.
Can you also make a video regarding Welt, Tingyun and some underrated units like Arlan, Himeko and Herta??

running Fleet of Ageless with an abundance character, sampo and luca is a good choice. since the atk buff in that ornaments can stack. haha then i will run Kafka with space sealing station.

My team will consist of Kafka, Sampo, Luka and bailu. I decide on Luka instead of asta because speed isnt really a problem since I managed to get relics with decent speed substats and mains stats on the boost. Pela was a option but then again luka applies the same debuff plus with his lightcone he can apply it without using his ultimate I believe, also think him and sampo will be sp neutral since their DoT last so long so Kafka can still use her skill more often. Running fleet of the ages on everyone and the space sealing station set on kafka.

Honestly i didn’t choose to build Sampo, he came to me 2 times from departure banner and then another time immediately from Standard, now he’s e3 and i have his lightcone at s3 haha, built him with crit at first but i want to change his relics now
As a f2p player, can i use Sampo with Dan heng and Natasha and Tingyun? And who's the best Sampo or Pela?
Pela's better with Dan Heng. Sampo is better off with other DOT units like Guinaifen, Luka, Kafka and Black Swan.
