      The internal part of negative terminal is usually bigger than the positive one. And the trigger terminal is usually located in closer to the negative one. You can use a multimiter to identify the polarity of the wires on a camera or speed light.

    Hello :) Great instructional video! I will start repairing the flash in Leica Af-c1. The camera resets as if the load that should be discharged creates a short circuit in the software. So I will buy, according to what I read in the comments, the appropriate length of the lamp so that it fits and I will try to mount it :) And if I'm wrong, please 🙏 give me some advice.
    Thank you very much and best regards 👍 😀 Krzysztof

    I have an old canon t6s that has a non functioning flash. When it’s supposed to fire it just makes this zapping noise from the light tube area. It’s not that old and I’ve never used the flash on it so imo it shouldn’t be broke.
    It’s my old camera so it’s not a huge deal but I would like to fix it so I can sell it. I will probably take the flash apart soon to see if I can do it.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  4 роки тому

      all flash tubes have three wires. Two wires from each side of your tube go to capacitor and the third wire which goes to the side of the tube is high voltage trigger. Sometimes that third wire is soldered to the tube sometimes not. In my case it's the black wire which is attached to to the top of the tube.

    Is there a way to make the pop up flash active when just released from its seat? Normally, it only flashes when in the fully upright position. The reason is that I wish to have my camera flash inside my underwater housing in order to activate my two remote strobes.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  4 роки тому +1

      You need to modify/bypass a close/open state sensor. Usually it's a mechanical one it looks like a button. Depends on the model if you solder its terminals together the flash will work constantly at any angle.

    • @TripleDeano
      @TripleDeano 4 роки тому

      I have the Nikon D7200. Is this mechanical sensor or button easily accessible? Once the terminals are connected, will it flash even if latched closed/ down? Thank you!

    • @1990Ras
      @1990Ras 4 роки тому

      I believe its the trigger wire? is it possible for me to add that trigger wire to build to solder it to 3rd wire from camera? or should I look for a bulb that already has the wire

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  4 роки тому

      What camera model/brand are you trying to fix? As you can see in my case there's also no third wire. The trigger wire is simply attached close to the tube and that's enough to make it work. Speedlight tubes have that third terminal. but you can simply wrap the wire (make one coil turn) around the tube.
