De Havilland Dragon Rapide flight at RAF Duxford

A short flight in a 1940's De Havilland Dragon Rapide at the Imperial War Museum at RAF Duxford. As we taxi, two twin seater Spitfires can be seen awaiting some very lucky passengers.

On a visit to heathrow as a kid, my mum went on a flight over london in a dragon rapide, fare was 10/6, have a photo of that, I think I saw the aircraft in a hanger at duxford

First aircraft I flew in aged about 4 1954 Ringway airfield (now Manchester) 10 shillings for about 15mins

Brings many good memories of learning to sky-dive at APA Netheravon . Better than my previous Course in Aden ,DH Beaver ,1966 .

Yes they are de Havilland Gypsy 6's a development of the 4 cylinder Gypsy Major
