One of the most beautiful aircraft ever - DeHavilland designed some of my favorite airplanes DH4 - DH-88 ..the Moth series etcetera..

What a superb film. A walk round is so instructive to start with and then handling notes. Marvellous. I have been involved with the circle of DH90 fans in New Zealand where they have ZK-AYR still flying. They have also had the biggest search in NZ for the Dragonfly of Brian Chadwick who went missing in 1962 with ZK-AFB. Recently I found my parents film of Chadwicks DH89 and posted that on UA-cam. Even more film has been discovered. The Dragonfly was a superb aircraft in so many ways. For NZ Southern Alps flying it was not the best choice due to Carb Icing problems in its Gipsy Major (?) engines. The carb heat only came on when throttling back. So Delta Uniform does not have Carb Heat! I did hear that a Tiger Moth used for the film Solo had a modification so that carb heat could be used at full throttle. It made that aircraft much safer in the cold wet cloudy west coast of New Zealand. It is thought that AFB was prone to carb icing and probably that caused it to come down in the NZ jungle and lost in that area.
What a superb aircraft G-AEDU is and duchess is so appropriate for it. Thanks for posting it and I am so surprised used not to have come across this before.

The Dragon and its brother the Rapide should be in an art museum. But it's even better that we can watch them fly.

I have been asked by the Chief missing aircraft of New Zealand to find out where the pitot and static vents are. He has just received more info whereby knowledge of these positions could help in the 60 year old search. I know it sounds daft but some new info and witness evidence has come to light.
    Many thanks Robin

I am not an ardent admirer of in your face wealth. However it is fortunate that some wealthy people preserve what is undeniably part of our heritage.
