-there were two races, Humans and Monsters...
-They lived together in Peace for a long time, until...
-One day a war broke out, the Monsters lost...
-forcing them to be locked up in a mountain known as *"Mt.ebott".*
- *"Every human who explores that mountain never returned",* said the legends about the mountain.
-It is known about the case of missing youths in the vicinity of this mountain, the strangest of all involves a forest fire located near a town.
-Almost all the humans in it were found burned by fire, except for a young woman who appears in the town records and her body was not found.
-presumably; she would have died if she was able to escape the fire by burns, but... *what if that doesn't really happen?*

-Another child has disappeared, this one unlike the others seems to have no local records about him, and it seems that he came to explore the mountain because of the legends..

*- TIMELINE 13X -*
-The recently fallen human possesses a power known as *"SAVE / RESET",* with the determination of him to end countless lives of monsters in his order to leave the underground.
-But he is always intervened in the end by another human with a similar determination, but in the end she fails to stop him.
-Try and Failure, an endless cycle that ends with the human "Chara" defeated...
-But... this time, it will be different.
-All the codes are restored in a new timeline, which has the necessary value for *my return.*
-I just need her to open the door to get out of here..
-If everything goes as planned, Chara will come and with her determination she will be able to open the door and know *everything*
-Knowing all that, she might have a new chance against the human...
-and she will give everything to make this *her last showdown.*

As always, a last breath variant AU proves that the only redeeming quality of last breath is the music.
The original last breath was a decent game, the community just did its thing with it,

@@Missingno_Miner to be fair, there's not much you can really add to Sans (the OG one anyway, not the fanon) without completely changing his character. An example that shows Sans still being him without changing (much) is Glitchtale, or Underverse

Just keep him in character: A lazy bone man who throws out the occasional shitty pun, who is deceptively strong.
Last breath failed that step to such a degree that its OST is named for their failure to keep Sans in character.
@@Missingno_Miner Actually, in my opinion, Last Breath does a good job with how Sans would react to how everyone just dies a hundred times, and with his new knowledge and power, he'd obviously would be different, but not so much that he just isn't Sans anymore.
People seem to forget that this version of Sans literally is the OG Sans but with extra steps. He takes the fight just a LITTLE more seriously than usual and prefers to just use his old attacks with a bit of extra spice here and there.
When he gets slashed, he thinks that none of his actions changed since the last few Routes, but upon realizing he isn't quite dead yet, he jumps at the opportunity to fight once more, and does not hold back at all, believing that he needs to get over his anxiety of Resets and just fight until Frisk/The Player just gives up (which worked on me lol). He still has his laid-back personality and even a few snarky comments.
When even THAT fails, he just goes "fuck it" and when Gaster comes into play, he gladly lets him take over. (As he'd be too tired to go on anyway, which makes sense)
The OST really helps with conveying how Sans feels during each phase as well.
"Not A Slacker Anymore" is a nice remix of Megalovania, which shows that Sans is still Sans, but something's obviously different. The name itself implies that Sans isn't going to be as carefree as before.
"But He Refused to Give Up" is a somber version of "It's Raining Somewhere Else", with Sans believing this is truly the end. The build-up towards the End is Sans getting back up, realizing giving up isn't an option here, and the best he can do is make his murderer suffer.
"The Slaughter Continues". My personal favorite. An upbeat and extended version of the last song, Sans is on his last legs, being 'dead serious', and making the battle MUCH harder than before. He brings new abilities, and uses empowered versions of his normal attacks, which hurt a lot more.
"An Enigmatic Encounter" is where Sans ran out of juice, and embracing his death, is saved by Gaster. The beginning sounds almost heroic, like a savior is here. After the main course starts, Sans has merged with Gaster, and together, they make sure you at the very least burn your eyes trying to defeat them.
Just kidding.
They pull out all the stops, twisting and turning your screen, and glitching everywhere, as Gaster doesn't quite belong here. At the end, there's nothing left but Sans, still dying from his earlier injury but is yet again slashed. Defeated, Sans powders into dust, and Gaster is gone.
