I'm 83yrs always wanted to make paper, thanks to your lesson Pam, I have paper soaking, I am going to do. Loving all your videos many thanks I am in New Zealand, great granny
So 🤗 let me explain what I like so much about this video : -Pam, not given a F*** about making it all look ‘ instagramable’ - Pam just being completely natural - Pam, trusting us enough to start sharing her whole living environment with us - Getting to know Pam .... feet, ear, nose, half of her face, knee ... - the sound of the water in the garden . Thank you Pam 👋😊🤓
I was just thinking about other paper making vids I’ve watched with hair, makeup, nails, photo op shots, and feeling grateful for this vid’s paper making focus! Then I saw your comment, and felt very validated.
This is great! I've wanted to make paper for a LONG time, but it seemed so complicated and expensive. Thank you for breaking it down to the basics and making it something I can do!
Exactly! Except for the immersion blender (which mine is ready to graduate to paper blending) everything is very doable. I've wanted to do this for forever too!
This process is much less complicated than I imagined. Will definitely be giving this a try. Hmmm - green paper with foliage bits...yes please! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Hello Pam.. First I started binge watching your videos then listening to the podcasts . Now I'm hoarding paper and making paper. LOL What a creative ride.. I'm loving in it...
I still don't craft or journal, but I still love watching your videos. Its like hanging out with your favorite Aunt showing you her favorite fun hobbies.
Lol it looks like porridge after being blended. Thank you for that Pam, that took a lot of energy and time on your behalf, even more so having to film it and moving the tripod etc,.........
On second thought I should have done the whole thing on the lanai with the garden hose :) I have a plug out there too for the stick blender...ah, the brilliance of afterthoughts ;)
thank you thank you thank you for showing us this. you make everything seem possible to do by keeping it budget friendly and simple steps. I very much appreciate the time you take to do this. thank you
Excellent timing! I have remnants of screen hanging around from when we had our sliding screen door redone. The contractor thought it was odd--but happily gave me the scraps.
A thin slurry or a 'depression gruel' consistency! 🤔👍 Thank you for making this process look simple for all of us and inviting us into your extended workspace - love from Denmark 🌸💕
FUN! Thank God! A way to recycle all of the paper I haven’t used. Pam, you are so funny, and so real, and always SO full of information! Pink oatmeal... here I come! 👍🙏🏻🤗
Great job Pam Many moons ago, my best friend and I were experiencmenting with making homemade paper. Our process a little different than yours, we added tiny bits of fabric and drier lint. the lint would it helpe make it more like paper not cardboard and you could bend the paper. Without the fabric and lint, our paper was very brittle and would break easy both helped with color as well . We added our leaves, flower peddles to the pulp. after we sponged as much of the water out, we flopped did on an ironing board and ironed not only to dry it, but to make it as thin as we could. We could write on ours, made cards, gift cards, stationary etc. We even bought power that turned our paper Acid free. we had so much fun with our creations.
Oh yeah!!!! Yay! Can’t wait for the reveal. Those are lovely and I think the process looks easy enough. Now, if life would just cooperate and give me enough free time...
Great demo! I have an old Oster blender that I use. I always start with a piece of paper towel. I can’t remember why....something about the long/short fibers in the paper...maybe. My husband made me forms... so I have no excuses to not be making paper more often! Lovely colors you achieved. Thanks!
Thank you for this and all your videos. Have been binge watching them. Last night I saw you organize your threads, brought back memories of doing this with my aunt 55 years ago! She was a seamstress for a designer that would sew the samples that then would go into production. She did put tape on the threads, now 55 years later, I can tell you not a long lasting good idea, tape is yellow, brittle, threads are still good, believe that! The spools of thread have a little slot on top to put the thread thru it and keep it from making all those birds nests. You brought me back in time and always teach me something! Your little Sunny is adorable and I love all the sound effects of the rest of the zoo.
This looks like a fun way to use up all those scraps! Running out today to get some screen, so I can make my own paper! Thank you so much for showing an easy way to make pretty and textured paper! This looks like a good way to add seeds to, to plant in the garden or send in cards to friends! Thank you!!!
I have been wanting to do this for years...so glad you showed us the diy method with things you have at home! I’m fixin to go rip a screen out of my window 😂😂😂
I love your tutorials...you make things simple and straightforward. I've watched other paper making videos and felt very intimidated, but I feel like I could actually do this!! Thanks so much!!❤️❤️❤️
I love little chunks of colour in the more refined paper. Thankyou for this video, it's made me decide to experiment a bit more this weekend instead of my regular paper.
So glad you shared this process Pam! I've seen other paper making videos, but they are much more complicated and not full of texture like you have. I want the texture - can't wait to see more video on your home made paper and projects! Thank you.
This was so fun to watch. Thank you for showing the cheaper alternative to making the screen box. You made it look so easy. I am excited to try it. I would be interested now in seeing you do a tutorial on how you use the homemade paper in your journaling. 🦋
This is the best homemade paper tutorial I've watched. All the equipment is very accessible. Lots of great ideas on how to add colour and interest. Thank you so much!
I absolutely love your character and teaching skills. Thanks beautiful for sharing your knowledge and time with us. This technique is very smart. Now i will dry some leaves and flowers.
Hi Pam, I'm a relatively new subscriber and I LOVE ❤ you and your videos! What a personality, seriously...you make me laugh and learn at the same time. I look forward to your videos...I've learned so much from you! I can't wait to make some paper! I especially love your carefree and 'do it/few rules' attitude and approach. Much love and thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos for us! ❤☮🙏🏻
Hi pinklilacs! Welcome to the family! I am so excited for you on your new journey into junk journals! It's a very friendly community! Come on down the rabbit hole with the rest of us and have some fun! :)Thanks for watching! :) Pam :) !!
Love this!!!!!! I REMEMBER DOING THIS IN KINDERGARTEN!!!!!! Omg , yours is more beautiful but it just fills me with so much happiness :) Thanks, Pam♡ Love your excitement about the color🤣
The frame and screen tip just saved me money and lets me decide the size I need. Thank you!! I'm going for a larger paper size and pre-made screens aren't big enough for my needs. Great tip.
I love your voice and personality, you remind me of every wonderful art teacher I’ve had over the years 🥰☺️❤ this was such an informative and inspiring video
This is soooo cool, I must try to do this! I will need to get little bunches of flowers from the grocery store to dry petals n leaves... nothing but grass all around my apartment. But that’s okay n the screen was so simple to do... thrift store here I come and asking a favor of the handyman for a little screening!!! Thanks so much for sharing... you are so awesome!!!
Pam I have just discovered you and love love love the way you do the tutorials. So natural and easy to follow. I love the paper and love your way!!!Thanks so much for sharing!
You call your Grey, Funny Bear, I called mine Sammy Bear. Lol I had to rehome him after 17 years due to Fibromyalgia. It was just too physically difficult to give him the attention and clean cage he needed. He has a wonderful new mommy number 2.❤ I miss him so much. Love this paper-making!
Wow your paper is gorgeous love it. Thank you for all the time it took you to do this . What a great way to make so fun and beautiful paper to give away as a gift or to use . I loved it 😍❤
I love handmade paper....I purchased a kit years ago but never used it lol. You make it look “doable”. I’m wondering if the palm tree design from your towel will print out on the paper lol. Can’t wait to see the “reveal” and projects you make with them! TYFS! ❤️🦋💜
It has been years since I made paper. I do have a deckle etc and I used an old blender and a dish pan for my slurry. I cut up some purple raffia and put in lavender buds. The purple leached into my water it came out the best batch! There is alchemy involved. I like the idea of drying on a sheet for less pattern. Then I wondered what would happen if I flipped it on a vinyl placemat. 🤔🧐 Bwaahaha
Thank you so much Pam! You worked so hard for this video. I appreciate you so much! I love that you show the process. I also enjoy hearing you think! 🤣
Thank you Pam - such fun to watch and I have been waiting for this because I have wanted to make paper since my hippie days in college (1970 and onward) so I think I'm finally going to do it. You make everything fun.
This is magic, Pam! Your method of making handmade paper is so simple, and not scary! Thanks for showing me how it's done. You are a good teacher! Stay safe! ~Janet in Canada
LOVE! Really looking 4ward to making as our Northern weather warms with my family of crafters! Thank you muchly for easy to follow instructions....well-l, will see how I can follow instructions. I have already started my paper pot.🤗
I was recently working in an art class where students made their own paper. The instructor gave them an extra tip on quick drying their paper too. She puts her screen between two stools and then uses a shop vac to help get out the water, before peeling off and drying it completely on their racks.
I have to try this! Yesterday I was drying flowers in my Micro Fleur. For the heck of it, I pulled some bottle brush flowers off of my tree and squished them. They came out really cool. Now is the time, if you have access to them. Watch out for bees. I'm thinking that the little hairy fibers would look pretty in paper.
Thanks so much, Pam! I join the group always wanting to make paper, but afraid it was too complicated! I feel confident now that I can do it! As always, thanks for being such an awesome youtuber, who really feels like a friend instead of just someone giving directions. Lots of other tutorial peoples channels just seem so..flat..now. You are fun! Never have I felt like I've wasted time watching your tutorials, like I have with so many others.
Love your video sharing ... no fancy stuff, just work with what we have - nice! like it that we can actually use acrylic colours to add on as I’ve been contemplating to buy clothes dye or food colourings. Also, thanks for the “we are learning together” approach, I enjoyed that very much.
I use a picture frame & a pair of tights (panty hose) but never thought of adding colour. Too wet in UK to dry outside at the moment, but will start making paper again in the summer. Great video, thanks Pam
Thank you Pam for this tutorial. At what point did you add glitter in your other papers! Before or after drying, or mixed into the pulp. You inspire me, and brought my inner child back to life.

so much fun! I am hunting down a used blender so I can make paper again. I loved the paint in the pulp. It came out so much better than I expected.
Much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for showing how to do this 👍❤
