I’ve been a cop for 37 years. I had a ride along on a night that was super busy,call to call. From mental health, domestic violence, bar fights, runaways, DUI’s . We were sent to our county hospital to interview a victim of a DUI crash. It was very busy at the hospital, a lot of yelling from the waiting room etc. After the end of my 10 hour shift, my ride along looked at me and said it was an eye opening experience and had no idea we handled so many different calls and actually said, “ I thought you guys just pulled people over and gave out tickets.”
During my youth I had the ability to join my local PD's explorer program, while everyone in my High School years would not understand this side to law enforcement. It was another side to them that nobody ever actually talked about. This video threw me back to those days. We all respect them, we all hold them to a high standard, when they make mistakes like us we expect them to acknowledge and improve upon it. But at the end of the day, we are all human. I work as a 911 dispatcher and I did a ride along with our city’s PD. since it was such a chill shift i chose to go with, they let me ride as long as i wanted (started at like 9 am and would’ve stayed longer, but i had to work that evening xD). but i remember at some point the officer brought me to my house so i could get my bag for work & they received a call about a drive-by shooting while i was inside. they found the guy and they had him pulled over by the high school. i live like a 15-20 min drive from the school and we got there in like 7! the speeding around cars, going through lights, driving in the middle lane; i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t scared xD! i have so much respect for people who decide to go that career path! 😵💫

Huntington park pd were always cool as hell… back in the 90s when I was a CHP explorer we had street beats in Huntington Park and parts of Los Angeles… beat 1 and Beat 2 (I was from the south Los Angeles station post 530 in Torrance off the 110 @hamilton. We had a bunch of pursuits and it’s always super nuts… being that I went on the medical side working als that’s waaaaay behind me but I do remember those failure to yields… they are definitely wild… you showed exactly how it is… different agencies laughing and busting each others….
