Regularly done keeps the roads in perfect condition. Only downside is, stones being thrown up and dust, by cars, until it completely sets up. Thanks for the vid. 😀😀
Interesting way to re-pave a road, well worth watching. Amazing skills of all of the guys, especially the chip spreader driver knows his machine to the last detail. Chapeau !

Most fullas mothers come home smelling like sweet perfume and looking like models. But our mum comes home looking like the dog that got caught in a storm.
Fuck chip seal. It's loud to drive on and only lasts a couple years before it gets torn up and starts destroying the front of your car because of all the lose gravel. Chip seal is the cheapo alternative to tar and in my opinion they should keep this stuff in Detroit and Chicago
I think it said they are using crushed rubber chunks. not gravel. On higher speed roads I agree it's noisy and chips come off. In a neighborhood like this probably fine. Also this is Arizona. so the heat and lack of freezing may make it work better and last longer.
It's rubber, not rock - read the description. Properly installed chip seal won't have as many issues and it is effective at extending the life of the asphalt.

In my 11 years of chip sealing, we never let the oil sit for 5 minutes without covering it. We also don't spread the oil with a squeegee, distributors are not articulated also. Guys are working their asses off, machines are there for a reason.
@Integra DIY - Come to Europe it takes them 30 minutes to find the street using GPS, then they all stop for a 1hr 'tea-break', then they find the 'tar' has gone cold, so they all sit around for another 3hrs, - omg it's time for lunch, - another 1hr, (at least), - they then find no one has covered over the manholes and drains. Hmm not our job so all go home.
I watched stuff like this when I was a kid in the fifties. They didn't have today's machines but the had the dump trucks and the rollers and a half dozen men with shovels and giant brooms . . . and a nicely gravel paved road when they finished. Impressive.
You would never see the state work that fast in Pa. Shit they would have had at least 2 breaks by now and then start getting ready to go home. They put a drain pipe in on top of the hill near my house, I stopped and ask why they would do this and they said to stop flooding. Now I lived there 26 years and the top of the hill never flooded because all the water ran down the side of the road, called a ditch. Saw 17 men and 6 or so trucks setting and watching a like a back how taking the snow off a small bridge. I watched 4 men put up a stop sing warning sign, took the 4 men 4 1/2 hours to put up this sign. Need more guys like these in my township and state.
