- Restoration is a big word for just making this Estwing hammer a good usable tool, I am not a fan of curved claw hammers, but I would make an exception of this Estwing, it is not new but usable!
They do have a waffle end on them. My uncle use to work for Estwing company. And that person will have that hammer for generations to come. Estwing hammers are the best. My uncle has had an Estwing Hatchet and an Estwing hammer for over 50 years and never had to replace or anything else to them both. They are a great tool.
I agree, a good tool is a good tool!
That was an amazing and informative video. I have used shoe polish but your hot wax is the deal
Thank you sir, I am glad you like it!
That red stuff is probably a Redgard. This hammer was very likely used in a bathroom renovations.
Copy that, did not think of that and I have used a lot of that stuff!!!!!!!!!!
Try using a vise and a metal pipe to straighten the claw, if you know what I mean by that.
@@akoznasovajusername Yes sir, I did not think of that, I like it! 😁😁😁thanks
Let the handle soak in some kind of solvent, Acetone? Should be something to get that handle clean
I will try that, did not think of that! thanks!
Acetone could soften the rubber and destroy it. Old timers would use a gasoline or a mineral spirits for cleaning the rubber.
@@akoznasovajusername My dad used mineral spirits all the time, funny how I do not think of this when I doing something!🤣🤣🤣
Can you please tell me what kind of wax you use on tools? Thank you
