The Hindu metrics of time (Kaala Vyavahara) can be summarized as below:
    • a Lipta (लिप्ता) is approximately 0.4 seconds
    • a Vighati (विघटि) is 60 Liptas, or approximately 24 seconds
    • a Ghadika (घटि) is 60 Vighatis, or approximately 24 minutes
    • a Muhurta is equal to 2 Ghadikas, or approximately 48 minutes
    • a Nakshatra ahoratram (नक्षत्र अहोरत्रम्) or sidereal day is exactly equal to 30 Muhurtas (Note: A day is considered to begin and end at sunrise, not midnight.)
An alternate system described in the Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III is as follows:
    100 Truti = 1 Tatpara
    30 Tatpara = 1 Nimesha
    15 Nimeshas = 1 Kásht́há
    30 Kásht́hás = 1 Kalá
    30 Kalás = 1 Kṣaṇa
    12 Kṣaṇa = 1 Muhúrtta
    30 Muhúrttas = 1 day (24 hours)
    30 days = 1 month
    6 months = 1 Ayana
2 Ayanas = 1 year or one day (day + night) of the gods
Small units of time used in the Vedas
    • a Trasarenu is the combination of 6 celestial atoms.
    • a Truti is the time needed to integrate 3 Trasarenus, or 1/1687.5th of a second.
    • a Vedha is 100 Trutis.
    • a Lava is 3 Vedhas.
    • a Nimesha is 3 Lavas, or a blink.
    • a Kshanas is 3 Nimeshas.
    • a Kashthas is 5 Kshanas, or about 8 seconds.
    • a Laghu is 15 Kashthas, or about 2 minutes.
15 Laghus make one Nadika, which is also called a danda. This equals the time before water overflows in a six-pala-weight [fourteen ounce] pot of copper, in which a hole is bored with a gold probe weighing four masha and measuring four fingers long. The pot is then placed on water for calculation.
    2 Dandas make one Muhurta.
6 or 7 Dandas make one Yamah, or 1/4th of a day or night.
4 Praharas or 4 Yamas are in each day or each night.
    LUNAR METRICS
a tithi (also spelled thithi ) or lunar day is defined as the time it takes for the longitudinal angle between the moon and the sun to increase by 12°. Tithis begin at varying times of day and vary in duration from approximately 19 to approximately 26 hours.
a paksa (also paksha) or lunar fortnight consists of 15 tithis
a masa or lunar month (approximately 29.5 days) is divided into 2 pakshas: the one between new moon and full moon is called gaura (bright) or shukla paksha; the one between full moon and new moon krishna paksha
    a ritu is 2 masa
    an ayanam is 3 rituhs
    a year is 2 Aayanas
    TROPICAL METRICS
    a Yaama (याम) = 1/4th of a day(light) or night [ = 7½ Ghatis (घटि) = 3¾ Muhurtas (मुहूर्त) = 3 Horas (होरा) ]
4 Yaamas 1 half of the day (either day or night)
    8 Yaamas 1 day (day + night)
an Ahoratram is a tropical day (Note: A day is considered to begin and end at sunrise, not midnight.)
Reckoning of time among other entities
Reckoning of time amongst the pitrs.
1 human day = 1/30 day of the pitrs
30 days of human is 1 month of human = 1 day of the pitrs
12 months of human = 1 year of the pitrs
The lifespan of the pitrs is 100 years of the pitrs (= 3,600 human years)
Reckoning of time amongst the Devas.
1 human year = 1 day of the Devas.
30 days of the Devas = 1 month of the Devas.
12 months of the Devas = 1 year of the Devas
The lifespan of the Devas is 100 years of the Devas (= 36,000 human years)
The Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III explains the above as follows:
2 Ayanas (six month periods, see above) = 1 year or one day (day + night) of the devas
360 days of the devas = 1 year of the devas
12,000 years of the devas = 4 Yugas
    Reckoning of time for Brahma.
12,000 years of the Devas = 1 day of Brahma (4320,000,000 human years). This day is divided into 10, 000 parts called charanas.
The charanas are divided as follows:
    The Four Yugas
4 charanas (1,728,000 solar years) Satya Yuga
3 charanas(1,296,000 solar years) Treta Yuga
2 charanas(864,000 solar years) Dwapara Yuga
1 charanas(432,000 solar years) Kali Yuga
The cycle repeats itself so altogether there are 1000 cycles of yugas in one day of Brahma.
One cycle of the above four yugas is one mahayuga (4.32 billion solar years)
A manvantara consists of 71 mahayugas (306,720,000 solar years). Each Manvantara is ruled by a Manu.
After each manvantara follows one Sandhi Kala of the same duration as a Krita Yuga (1,728,000 = 4 Charana). (It is said that during a Sandhi Kala, the entire earth is submerged in water.)
A kalpa consists of a period of 1,728,000 solar years called Adi Sandhi, followed by 14 manvantaras and Sandhi Kalas.
    A day of Brahma equals
    (14 times 71 mahayugas) + (15 x 4 Charanas)
    = 994 mahayugas + (60 Charanas)
    = 994 mahayugas + (6 x 10) Charanas
    = 994 mahayugas + 6 mahayugas
    = 1000 mahayugas
as is confirmed by the Gita statement
    "sahasra-yuga paryantam ahar-yad brahmano viduH",
meaning, a day of brahma is of 1000 (maha-)yugas. Thus a day of Brahma, kalpa, is of duration: 4.32 billion solar years. Two kalpas constitute a day and night of Brahma
30 days of Brahma = 1 month of Brahma (259,200,000,000 human years)
12 months of Brahma = 1 year of Brahma (3,110,400,000,000 human years)
25 years of Brahma = 1 kalpa (77,760,000,000,000 human years)
    2 kalpas = 1 parardha (155,520,000,000,000 human years)
2 parardhas = 100 years of Brahma, the lifespan of Brahma (311,040,000,000,000 human years)
The Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III explains the above as follows:
360 days of the gods = 1 year of the gods
12,000 years of the gods = 4 Yugas
1,000 sets of 4 Yugas = a day of Brahmá
    50 years of Brahma = 1 Pararddham
    100 years of Brahma = 1 Param
    4,000 + 400 + 400 = 4,800 years = 1 Krita Yuga
    3,000 + 300 + 300 = 3,600 years = 1 Tretá Yuga
    2,000 + 200 + 200 = 2,400 years = 1 Dwápara Yuga
    1,000 + 100 + 100 = 1,200 years = 1 Kali Yuga
Alternately, the reigns of 7 Rishis, Indra and Manu = 1 Manwantara = 71x12,000+A (A is not given) = 852,000 years of the gods+A (A is not given)
    14 Manwantaras = a day of Brahmá
VEDIC TIME UNITS GREATER THAN A KALPA
Ancient vedic cosmology takes into account handful of time spans which are even greater than one Kalpa or a day of Brahma. One such unit is a "Maha-Kalpa" which is composed of 36000 such days of Brahma. One Maha-Kalpa is considered as the lifetime of Brahma. There are time units which are larger than one Maha-Kalpa. The largest of them has been calculated as several quadrillions of human years. This precise and massive calculations indicate one important aspect of vedic time system, that, whenever the term "Infinity" has been mentioned in Vedas, it does not indicate something very large. Instead, it appears that the term is meant to refer its literal synonym itself.

Basically the Varna vyavstha is totally based upon Knowledge,Merit and Karma.
Secondly this Manu is not a Religious text in Hinduism.

Devi Parvati created him by crafting a sculpture out of sand and making it alive(while Shiva werent home) she went to take a bath and told Ganesha her son to not let anyone enter until she done, and so he does. That's when Shiva returns home and spots the young boy, who refused to let him in at any cost cause he would never defy his mother's words. Angered at this treatment Lord Shiva cut his neck off (he wasn't aware he was his son) after knowing that he was his son lord Shiva attempt to replace his head and make him alive again, he finds a dead baby elephant in the forest and attaches is to lord Ganesha's neck, bringing him back to life with his powers :D

Asking questions and Adaptation with time has been the most important things of Hinduism, this is what made Siddhartha Gautama "Budhha", there is only one eternal law (Santana Dharma), the fact is many people can interpret Hindu texts in their own way, that is why you can't learn anything if you are not willing to look within. For starters, Bhagavad Gita is the best way to start learning a great deal about Life problems & essence of Hinduism.(Note- Please read credible translations, because texts is easy to manipulate according to one's interest & understanding) I recommend "Bhagavat Gita- As it is by A. here's the answer to your question when goddess Parvati went to take a bath she ordered Ganesha to guard the main door and let no one come inside and when Lord Shiva came in spite of being Ganesha's father, Lord Ganesha forbid Lord Shiva to enter due to which Lord Shiva became angry but Nandi and Bramha dev acted as mediators but Lord Ganesh kept their words and this made Lord Shiva angry at such an extent that he started the Tandava(the dance of destruction) and threw the mighty trident because of which the human head of Lord Ganesha was separated from the body later when Goddess Parvati asked to revive him Lord Shiva gave his men some parameters according to which only an elephant's baby fitted in after which our Lord Ganesha was born and Lord Vishnu gave Lord Ganesha a boon that before starting any auspicious ceremony Ganesha's puja(prayer) would be done, this was the story of Lord Ganesha or Lord Kangiten(それはかんぎてんさまのものがたりでした)Thank you

I was raised as a Hindu. I believe in God but am not very religious. It's more like a way of life for me. For instance, when your mom goes to temple on some particular day, so you go as well even after becoming an adult.
I like the ideas of Buddhism, they are quite similar to the core ideas of Hinduism. Perhaps Shinto is quite similar too, but I don't know much about it at this point. Will probably watch a video from Cogito about it.

      1. He should've mentioned Jati and Varna and not caste
      2. He says Sati and Parvati are shiva's consorts when Parvati is the reincarnation of Sati
      3. He says manusmriti dictates that our Varna is fixed by birth. There is no proof for this.
      4. Soul is not Atman. English language cannot do justice to Sanskrit. At best you have mistranslations.
      5. He missed out a lot of concepts like the fact that everyone is a part of Brahman therefore there is no inferior or superior other than what can be compared with using the 5 senses.
      6. There are no denominations of religion like he mentioned. Compared to Abrahamic religions, we don't really differentiate people if they're Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shakta, Madhava etc.
      7. He completely missed The concept that everyone is born Shudra and is considered in other Varna only after they identify their aptitude and talent by taking "dvijanma" or second birth
      8. He missed out that people go to Kailash , Vaikunta, Swarga, Naraka, Paataala etc for temporary period based on their Karma. It's only when you detach yourself from Karma itself that the cycle of samsara ends.

here's a brief explanation of shiva and cutting of ganesha's head....
shiva the destroyer might sound scary and evil....but actually it's SHIVA the destroyer of all evil,so at the of the universe, when everything turns evil, shiva destroys the universe and it all starts over again...
and parvati, shiva's wife was once going to take bath and wanted someone to guard the door but didn't trust the ganas as they followed shiva and might not guard the door,so she created a son, ganesha,he did not know that his father was shiva and so when shiva, who was outside doing his work, came back home,he was surprised to see a boy guarding the door, the boy was reluctant to let shiva in even tho he is parvati's husband, after a while,in anger a fight broke out and shiva cut off gansha's head with his trident, after realising what he had doen and to his own son,he asked his ganas to get him the head of an elephant facing north,as the elephant is the strongest and mightiest land animal

      India is “Indo”
      Indonesia is “indoneshia”
The Chinese character for India is 印度. The kanji 印度 came from china a long time ago. We read this kanji as INDO and Chinese read it as YINDU. So we didn’t just put “India” into katakana. It’s India→印度→Indo. But for Indonesia, we simple put it into katakana, so it becomes “Indoneshia”.

I even understand full sentences as well sometimes and especially the Japanese you speak in your videos and cultural inputs like "Hee" you did in this video. Also, this is just something I wanted to share, if you know Makoto Shinkai (the director of Kimi No Na Wa & Tenki No Ko anime movies which are very popular in India), he came to India for Tenki No Ko's premiere in India and he was actually surprised that people reacted to what he said in Japanese even before the translator said it in English. He even asked the audience in English if they know Japanese and the audience responded "a little bit". Indians are interested in Japan and Japanese as we were exposed to the Japanese culture and etiquettes at a very young age through Anime like Doraemon, Pocket Monster (known as Pokemon worldwide) and Shin-chan so it is nostalgic to many Indians when they watch Anime now. It is also good to see Japan's interests in India as well! Well I did write a lot

    Egyptian civilization
    Mesopotamian civilization
    Iranian civilization
    Greek civilization,
    Maya civilization
    etc
All got converted and their practices are all dead.
Indian civilization is still alive because of Hinduism.

Actually, Lot of information is true. But you can't figure out about the caste system and the Social problems caused by that. If you stuided in japan school or college, its not surprising because Japan, korea were also once ruled by same king though. Its happy to see and mention not only to the goods but also the bad.

The caste system is similar to the Division of work theory which makes everyone specialize in their work & increase efficiency. People who ridicule caste system favour the Henry Ford model when in sense both are similar. In simple words: If the Brits do it then it's correct. The British take everything away from a society & terms the society as evil.

  • @vishalyadav7209

God never created a caste system . He just assigned different groups, different work according to their qualities. It was Britishers,Mughals and somewhat the Brahmans who created a caste system to divide Hindus for their personal gain.

Although now the caste system has become on the basis of birth, originally anyone can become anything according to their guna (their expertise) if ur expert in ritual science knowledge ur a brahmin if ur an expert in fighting and expert in martial arts and want to protect the ppl ur a Kshatriya if u want to become a businessman and if u are expert in it u become vaishya, and finally, if ur good a doing hard labor ur a shodra.. there are no high or low castes originally unfortunately as time goes ppl become jealous and egoistic they start the upper caste lower caste came. Hindus are trying to bring back the original essence of Hinduism which says लोका समस्था सूखिनो भवंतु. ॐ शनथि शनथि शन्थिहि. Meaning: Let all the people be happy. Om Peace Peace Peace.

Shiva is known as Daikokuten or Mahākāla in Japan. Shiva is not a mythical character, he was a real human like Krishna, Buddha, Rama, and so on. He is known as the Adiyogi or the founder of yoga.

Actually the actual name of Hinduism is Sanatana Dharma..... It is not any religion it is way of life or the path of righteous. Sanatana Dharma is not one thing it has many many sampradayams, Paramparas, sects, parts etc Sanatana Dharma is very vast and diverse in which Buddhism, Shintoism r sect of Sanatana Dharma only that's why u r able to relate Japanese culture with Sanatana Dharma because we all belong to Sanatana civilization only means we all r one. Love from india to Japanese people 🇮🇳❤️🇯🇵.

Westerners can NEVER understand hinduism as they have christian or islamic background, which is a monolithic religion or culturally (ex) religious thinking. They are wrong the moment they started with - _"hindus believe..."_ , because hindus are pluralistic and diverse and do not have just one set of common beliefs. Many hindus are monoistic, others are polytheistic and formal astiks are atheist rationalists. Some read ramayana or mahabharat, others follow dharmasutra, some read one book other read other books , there are many books not just one central book (unlike christian have bible and islam has kuran)

Im Brahman and don't know about this well okii okii but i want to ask you this why they called sanatan to sanatana what the vro they just just like ramayan to ramayana and dharam to dhramaa and lot's of words🙂 well english be like idc it's hard to pronounce it's break our english grammar rule se we changed and yes Ramayana is an anime made by Japan and India and this is something important you all should know about this so foreigners say we have lots of God's yes it is ture but they say we have 33c gods which is wrong look the thing is when they translated our holy books so their is word called koti so koti means is crore and also prakar ( prakar like different) so they translate 33koti to 33c which is wrong we have 33prakaar gods and i worship of BAJRANG BALI(HANUMAN) jaii shreee raam
