I have the e skyactiv x and have just achieved an average of 63mpg driving 30 miles from the Gordano services to Bath so you are right about the fuel consumption for a 2 litre petrol engine it is fantastic, why you will not be able to buy a new one of these after 2030 is beyond me and I'm sure Mazda would be able to improve on that if they had a mind to.
What was your average speed for this consumption?
Auto or manual?
@@marianiles9360 Around 45mph, it was about 20 miles motorway at around 65 mph followed by 10 miles at about 45mph I have since bettered that with 64.5mpg on a similar run of 50 miles, my car has only done 6,000 miles and I'm sure a car with a few more miles on it would be capable of maybe even better mpg, even on shorter trips I get close to 50mpg average it really is as good as they say which is unusual as most test results are hard to match in the real world.
@@neilstait5245 It's a manual 6 speed e skyactiv x 2021 model, you would struggle to get much less than 50 mpg over say 500 miles in every day driving and over 60mpg on any 60 to 75mph motorway (freeway) drive of over say 30 miles.
What a shame there is no more after 2030. If Mazda continues to improve the mpg, the running costs might even equal to the electric car given the cost of charging electric car is still so high and so expensive. We should encourage competition, allowing ice exist after 2030 but only the high mpg one. People should have more choice.
mazda did nail it with 3....a symbol of automotive perfection both aesthitcally and functionally!
Great review, thanks!
The UK market has been robbed of having the option of a 2.5 litre turbo engine for the Mazda 3 which is a great engine with lots of positive reviews! This option is already available in the US!!
Great engaging review
I’m so inspired by this for the Hatch - I think 😊
Nice vlog
Just purchased a 1 year old Mazda3 e skyactlve x Sport plus, your review made my mind up to get one and was lucky my nearest dealer had this car with only 2k on it.
Love the looks,it is comfortable & has plenty of power, the interior quality is amazing.
Cheers David.
Good choice! glad to help!
Never thought I’d like I python. It’s the eyes and mouth of a Python that’s the grill and the lights for me
I have a 2020 skyactiv X gt sport tech with the dark red leather.... beautiful car but not the greatest to look out of when reversing, hence the 360 camera...but great to drive.
You are the Jeremy Clarkson of car reviewers . I subscribed to your channel after only 15 seconds of watching .
I think Jeremy Clarkson is the Jeremy Clarkson of car reviewers mate
You are very kind
@@michaelhiggins5237 Lol .
Great video as always. I have watched both the CX-30 and 3 videos and looking at buying the CX-30 as love the look extra space. I am a driving instructor so will be a great car to use for my pupils. I am interested to know if you can advise which option engine you would recommend I look at? either the skyactive G or X. More shorter journeys with pupils but still do longer journeys when using it as my personal car. Many thanks in advance.
Graham
Thanks for watching! Personally I would look at the X over all by the sound of it. However it looks like either would suit in this senario.
David
@@EdenMotorGroup many thanks for your reply throughs 👍
Hi. I've been on the fence about getting a 3. I did have a 6 in the past and loved how it handled. It was literally stuck to the road, how anyone drives an SUV I just don't know. The issue I have is, is the driving position very low? How is the car over long distances and is there lumber support available on a particular trim? Very good video, really informative. Thanks.
I used to use this car to going from the Taunton Branch to Mazda training at mil-brook (4-hour journey on a good day) and never had any issues. Full Lumbar support comes on the GT and up however the demos I did the big journeys on were SEL-LUx's and never had an issue (as you may have seen in other videos I do have lower back issues from playing rugby in my youth so I am sensitive with this too).
With most cars that are not SUV'S these days, the driver's position can feel low but no lower than a normal hatch and does make you feel more in control with the lower center of gravity.
The best thing to do is jump into a dealer and give us a ring on 01823 444410 at the Taunton Branch or 01256 442144 at the Basingstoke branch. Just mention you watched our video and you have some questions. They can book you a drive and take you through the process to see if it's the right car for you.
David
What would the X engine's mpg be on short journeys, i have a daily trip of 19 miles, 10 miles of it being traffic light hopping
For you, i wouldn't worry about getting the x. it works for short journeys but you won't be getting as much of the benefit compared to the cheaper option
Hes raving mad, now Danny gonna bring ma car back?
We hope you enjoy this video on the New Mazda 3 2022. Any questions let me know
I'd only get the Mazda 3 in a hatchback and get it in black.
It looks evil in black!
Polymetal grey with black 18 inch wheels makes it look like it’s ready for a fight.
This is not 2022 version. 2022 has different turn lights.
I promise it doesn't this is the 2022 version. options list includes the new colour :-)
Imagine 2022 model without USB c
Not a fan of hatchbacks
I don't know what people see in the hatchback. Too egg shaped. The sedan with no rear end.
You must be kidding yourself, the hatch is ugly
Yes l was, a bit, but the older model looks so good (to me). In any case Mazda make really good cars, so much better than BMW or AUDI.
@Jeremy Brown P.S. l am actually blind in my right eye, maybe that's my problem?
