For those wondering why they get emotional watching the Haka its because its Tribal. It calls to the tribal side of all of us. Our blood our bones our spirit hears it and remembers when we we're all part of a Tribe. Europe, the Americas, Africa, Polynesia. Don't matter where our ancestors came from originaly we were all part of a tribe at some point and your body remembers. If this brings tears then let them fall, dont feel shame no matter where you are. Let the tears fall back to earth where our ancestors can feel our love. From a Proud Native man of Canada
Thank You for explaining this felling I have watching the Haka. I'm not sure what part Cherokee I have, but on my mothers side my great grandmother was full Cherokee. Not knowing my father well I'm not positive if it's grandmother or great grandmother also Cherokee.
I love watching haka too. It's so amazing how in this modern time you're able to preserve ur tradition and gives chills to whoever is watching. Just wonderful. ❤️
Очень трогательно! 👍 Я посмотрела уже много видео с танцем хака - он просто покорил меня своей экспрессией, энергией и необычностью! Привет из России! 👋
Every video I have ever watched of the Haka always leaves me in tears but with a profound sense of peace and comfort. To me it is the ultimate display of love and respect
Im 67yr old white Australian man, I started getting emotional b4 the camera even got to Elder Mauigoa, & then at to see those young men & boy wipe their faces, thats love.
I am speechless after just recently finding this culture and their ritual of Haka ...It amazing to watch,I do not know why I have never heard of these Maori people until just recently..
And this young man just came back from wherever he was serving, a two year mission for the Church of Jesus CHrist of Latter Day Saints. It really showed so much love that they welcome him back with such honor. ANd he was also doing such a great thing doing duties in the Lords service.
I’m not even from the area and I find myself getting hyped up and emotional. As someone who served I. The military I served with a group of New Zealanders and watched them perform the Haka for comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s more than just a battle cry.
I am Native of North America I am honored to watch these peace welcomes In my culture we give the name of are land Then are people then my elder Then my name It is to show what we have closest to are hearts first because if you think about it This is what gives us life
The HAKA is Very Emotional because it means TOTAL MANA which means having the Spirit of Life and I can say that it Is a Feeling that goes right from your toes up out of your Head! Its like having the goosebumps but in a Very Awesome Tranquil Feeling :) It comes from the Ancestors and the spirits of the past living Ohana :)
The raw emotion of the haka just takes my breath away it's so compelling to watch these beautiful people just laying their hearts down for all to see 😍😍😍😍
Incredible respect and love . It gives me the same feeling I get when I hear the churl of the(Scottish Bagpipes) pipes coming to life . It grabs something deep down in your soul .
my dad visited New Zealand in 1973 as a minister from Ottawa, Ontario Canada . I was only 2 at the time but have felt a kinship with the people of New Zealand ever since. I so just want to go visit your beautiful country. i'm 48 now and the prospects are dim but you are always in my heart - the haka is truly something special. i only wish my family was that close. God Bless.
This culture is so gosh darn beautiful wow I wanna go to New Zealand and see this in person it would be an honor to , the upmost respect to them for continuing what their ancestors did before them just amazing
I am not a part of this culture at all but every time I watch a haka dance being performed I cannot help but feel real emotions and tears of joy just build-up inside of me. This is all quite amazing and I truly wish that some people would just stop being so ignorant about this because I truly believe that it is disrespectful to their/this culture !!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I seen it a couple of years ago , and I ran across it again. Simply beautiful! Thank you! For sharing with all of us. ❤🙏
The only video which haven't received any dislike.. the only thing I have searched on UA-cam. Haka the traditional war cry of Maori people.. gives me goose bumps every time whenever I see it..
Es una merecida bienvenida, todos los misioneros debiesen recibirla , son verdaderos guerreros espirituales, bendiciones a Elder Mauigoa y su familia, saludos desde Chile.
It’s all about respect. We don’t do the haka but we have our own family traditions. We celebrate every opportunity we meet. Our men kiss as a sign of respect to each other. Every member of our family kiss and hug, from the oldest to the youngest. We spend time celebrating our family. This can be anywhere we meet. Family is everything.
I'm just a little know one in this huge world..but this my friends made me cry, I know this was pure honor, an respect....absolutely beautiful...welcome home sir..you were oviously greatly missed
I feel so emotional too. I have been connected since I saw one performed by a friend and her Maori group. I cry when I see the videos and family love so evident in this video
Such a lovely homecoming! I imagine it will be the same when the veil is lifted, reuniting us with our loved ones. My son served a two year mission as well and had many to greet him. The smallest young man, can visibly be seen as the Spirit flowed through. I pray all are still well and filled. My son has been a bit lost. He'd met an atheist and well...Since out of his life, the prayers for him have brought him back bit by bit. There's not a chapel in his town. Missionaries asked for his address and I thought they were going to write a note of encouragement but some showed up when he was still with her and I was blamed. They'd been broken up for three months before I learned of it. My son didn't want to give me his address! I really had no idea people from a larger town with a chapel would go to their house and had to promise I wouldn't call, explaining again. Thank you for the lives touched. My son served in Seattle-Tacoma and said it was the best two years of his life. He'd shared with me his first companion was abusing him verbally and physically. Get thee to the leaders! It is not the easiest thing as many know. May the blessings be abundant to you all. The next time you put together a sandwich for a quick bite to eat meal, think of the miracles it takes to get from seed to harvest from all over the world to ships, trucks, markets, the electricity to keep condiments and the vegetables fresh to create that sandwich you eat. Many people have not even a slice of bread nor water. Peace be with you in your hearts, minds and souls. 🍃🌾🍃🌾🍃🌾🍃🕊⚘🌿
😭 Eu não conheço sua língua e não sei nada sobre Haka, mas me emocionei desde a primeira vez que vi um missionário dançando,eu amei 💞 !! Sinto algo em meu ❤️ que não sei explicar. Very beautiful.
All that I can say about the HAKA is Total MANA!!!! Welcome Home Brother Thank You for going out in the World serving Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Aloha Au Ia 'Oe :)
As our ancestors left their birth home, they set aside language, customs and memories. We rebuilt our being. Now we are realizing that we are still part of the past. We must let past and present live in peace.
The little blue 'like' does not convey the love & emotions you experience watching this! I am South African & love Maoris - truly beautiful people in every way. This is quite a while back but I trust & believe God's blessings & favour are still powerfully at work in this family's livesXX
South African too (Cape Town), the Haka gives me full body goosebumps and always brings me to tears, I think it's the true love and passion that it shows ❤️
Forley Says. Greetings from the Turner family,Texas...blessings to all ..every time I experience a Haka..my spirit soars and my heart races..the Maori remind us of what we once were
What the haka does is, it reaches into the very depths of your inner self and the experience is one of Awe, or as described in Māori te ihi, te wehi. The wonder, the Awe and the powerful psychic force that generates your authentic self to be unafraid, courageous, compassionate loving and fully self expressed.
This is not about the dance.. Beautiful heartwarming Hawaiian Video. It truly touched me.🌺❤️🌺❤️Towards the end with the na kane doing the haka and greeting their bradah at the airport was super awesome. The song “How Can I Be” that was sung throughout this video was absolutely touching.👍🌺👍

The amount of absolute pure and raw respect this culture has is truly inspirational.
the song here moved me to tears apart from the tender moment of mother and son.
