@@SpenserParkinson haha in the makeover episode of drag race uk, ru bought back all of the girls family members (cheryl had her sister, viv had her mum i think etc). all the cast had good relations with their family EXCEPT for bagga who clearly could not stand her mum and likewise. 💀

the sad thing is that some of this movie actually happened (not the four musical stars intervening) but the girl was not allowed to bring her girlfriend to prom and they had a fake prom, very sad :( It was also in a different state. (i think it happened a while back like 2010 or so).

did anyone else find James Corden's character deeply offensive? Not just because of his horrific attempt at an American accent, but more so because of the incredibly superficial and borderline offensive portrayal of a gay man - its about a bit more than flapping your wrists and liking Beyonce...

Thank you, ladies! Seeing your video confirmed that my decison to stop watching the movie after about 15 minutes was the right one. I can see that the terrible acting and sad, contrived songwriting continued and that there was no redeeming quality to it throughout. I love the two of you; I'll take a pass on the rest of the film.

@@jessieburton4104 he stereotyped a gay persona, and took the emotion and personal journey of a coming out story from a gay actor that could have done the role justice, from experience; I think that would have been truer to the role while also provided a true meaning for viewers.

I just hope we finally get a good final season of AHS, so after that he can focus on something new that is not filled with cliche characters, like previously.

while yes it’s true that the lesbians finally got a movie, I personally still don’t feel that like it’s very good representation since most of the screen time is taken up by the narcissistic aging broadway people, and neither of the main couple have a great deal of personality or agency in their own story. in addition, I feel like the way it was done in the movie made their relationship feel more platonic between the age gap, alyssa’s lack of screen time, and jo ellen pellman’s lackluster performance. as a theater geek, I enjoy this show because the music’s a bop and the story is fun but as a lesbian I can’t help but feel really let down by the fact that this is one of the only big mainstream shows that is credited for staring a lesbian couple when said couple is barely present or developed for their own movie. I think it just really shows that even the theater geeks haven’t gotten there yet and we really need to get our shit together

My proms in 93/94 I first went with my friend and second I went stag. I can’t speak for others but it was never the experience 80s/90s movies made to be. But of course....they are movies.

Unpopular opinion: I hated this movie and especially James Cordon playing a gay man. Such a wasted opportunity for an actual gay man to play a lead role.
