Luka's version is softer and wispy, like she's singing a ballad and she's on the verge of tears. truly amazing, both of them.
This was the first Vocaloid song I ever listened to and it was sung by Luka. She instantly became my favorite and this song was constantly stuck in my head. About a month after hearing it my friend told me that Miku was the original voice for this song. So I looked it up and wondered why so many people preferred Miku to Luka. To this day I prefer this version. And I named my cat after Luka to show that love x]

This version of "Love is War" sounds the saddest because of the way Luka is singing it. She sounds like she's choking up which suits the song pretty well. The melancholic ending was also a nice touch. (Though I absolutely love the original and remixes as well) Its lovely. c: On another note, the way she sings, "koi wa moumoku" at 3:43 sounds amazing in my opinion, especially with the synced voices.

you clearly haven't listen too enough vocaloid. The skill of the creator of the song is really what influences the pitch in miku's voice, so if its too high pitched, then maybe its a really early version of miku.
