- Well, that was a brilliant show!
So much to see and to do!
Key Model World Life! was undoubtedly a huge success, and literally was a record breaking show thanks to Pete Waterman and Railnuts: Making Tracks layout!
world record Breaking' in fact!🙂
despite a few grumpy sods, 95% of the folks there enjoyed it! and I hope it becomes a staple show in the future for years to come!
I said, on your earlier film, that we should wait and see before downing it. As an exhibitor (St Fayre Rhianne) it was the happiest big show I've been to for a very long time. The atmosphere, from both exhibitors and visitors was wonderful, and we had a really great time. Well done, to everybody involved with the organising of the event.
Well said John;
that super detailed double ended diesel is a work of art
Good to see you Saturday Craig. I agree with your comments about the show and congratulations to Mike Wild and the NMWL team for putting on a great new event. Cav and Alex are always good to talk to about our favourite subject. Shame Richard didn’t react to your plot to steal the new Accurascale Class 31, that would have been fun to watch!
He was too busy talking money to notice 😁🤣
Wonderful stuff - wish I had been up there. Thanks for the great video 👍🚂
It was good to finally meet you buddy hope to see you at Horrocksford soon on that mean machine of yours 👍🏍️
Eyup Mark 😎😎 I'll be there at some stage pal, never can tell with me! 🤣
I went on the Sunday but the one thing that made this show stand out that it was different and brought modelling from different worlds together and really enjoyed it. That movie Oh Mr Porter, you definitely won't be 'wasting your time' giving that a watch seen it once and was enjoyable. Great video Craig
Cheers Simon, glad you enjoyed the show buddy!😁
Your's and Peachy's were the two KMW Live videos I was most looking forward to seeing. Instinctively, I knew you were going to cover the aspects of the hobby that would be of greatest interest but the highlight of all the videos I have watched this week was the fantastic footage of that Ginster's pasty. I wish I'd gone now.
🤣🤣🤣 can't beat a classic 😍
Really enjoyed this video, Model world live looked cool, I have one of the new Accurascale class 31 on order with Rails of Sheffield I'm getting the Sevem valley's class 31.
Nice one mate 😎😎😎
Great stuff. I particularly enjoyed the “Halland” talk through. More of that is needed in these types of videos.
Yeah I try to where possible but most folks are busy operating or it's usually so noisy you can't hear 😞😞
Thanks for taking the time to film while enjoying yourself, that dark shed layout looked amazing, the lighting work looked so realistic. Tbh I'd be happy to go to any model railway exhibition so I don't really get people who moaning that it somehow wouldn't be as good as Warley or whatever, given the years of isolation over the pandemic I don't think anyone should take for granted the effort put into hosting any show for the public. As for that sign? "You can burn that one!"
Cheers buddy!😁
And yes, the sign is up in the house now 😁🤣
Craig, who needs Warley, as we both stated last week! Model world live is the way forward. I also spent more than I should've done but absolute bargains, from Tony's Trains, TMC and Gauge Master. Defo going again next year.
Next year is on the cards provided the planets align
Hi… I agree the show was excellent. Plenty of room to see everything. Reasonably priced food and drinks.
The standard of the military aircraft and vehicles was excellent especially the military dioramas.
The excavator in the video costs in the region of £15000, according to its owner/operator.
Puts the complaints regarding the cost of our hobby in perspective 😂
It was very nice to meet and chat with you.
Regards…Steve Route 7 Railway 👍👍
Cheers Steve, I paid £7 for a pint of cider 😭😭😭
Oops. I was drinking coffee 😂
I think maybe I was lucky 😳😳
I was talking to the RC truck guys and mentioned that I knew this side of the RC modelling existed because in Europe its huge and I have seen the UA-cam videos showing it. They even have working farm vehicles with farming implements.
Looked like a great show, love the fact they had modellers from all worlds, kits, RC, railways etc. Hope more shows embrace that idea, will be more costly for the punters though, buying shit that you weren't even there to get, I know I would, lol. All the best dude. Brian
Lol skint now Bri, cheers!
I went on the Sunday so missed you, Jenny and Zoe. But i did get myself scanned and now theres a little tiny mini-me in the post. I loved the layouts and those trucks. Wow! But I dont really need another expensive hobby. Ive got the class 31 on preorder too. I'm glad its not too long to wait now.
It was a bit of a trek from the station along that corridor though hehe
Tony's Trains is my local shop and I can attest he's excellent. Let me know if youre coming past here soon and I'll show you where it is.
Cheers Mate, If I ever pass I'll let you know 😁
Great review just a foot note "Will Hay was an astronomer who discovered the Great White spot on Saturn"
Great to see a bloke working hard at having a splendid day out! Seems a good vibe at the event and good to see space for kids to show layouts and get involved in doing stuff. Seems the way shows should go and hopefully the grumpy rivet knockers will get outnumbered…
Wasn't hard at all mate, was bloody joyful 🥰🥰
It's a shame I didn't get tickets for Key Model World live, it really does look like it was a good show. :)
It was mate maybe next time!😁
Cheltenham Gentlemen 😂Well done Craig I went on the Saturday also but managed to miss you Jenny and Zoe.I did see Petecsnd Dave and Chris from the Railnuts and Simon No Glad and the talented Tom Marshall from Buggleskelly Station.and ordered a windmill plus others. The show was excellent well done to Key publishing and a big well done and congratulations to Pete Waterman and the Rsilnuts for The Final Frontier and for getting the world record.
P.S.can I get a 3D model of you?
If you really really want one then yes mate once they're ready I'll get something sorted 😀
Thsnks next Jenny and Zoe I did ask but they did not have any Jennies at the show....Cheers Bud
Craig, what an uplifting video, only wish I could have been at the show. This show reminds me of the huge RC aircraft shows which used to take place at Sandown Racecourse in theb1990s run I think by the Esher MAC. These were some of the best shows that I ever visited , I went for the RC Aircraft and Helicopters but so enjoyed all the other modelling on display with the whole of the ground floor in the exhibition hall dedicated to railways. Although at the time all my energy went into RC helicopters the fantastic railway layouts on display planted the seed of model railways to which I eventually migrated. As you say the beauty is the richness of the modeling diversity and the cross pollination making everyone a winner!
RC Helis would be a good thing to see!🥰
Hi Craig. Great news that the show was such a success. I couldn't go due to a clash with other events but would have loved to have been there. That Accurascale Class 55(?) was brilliantly detailed - what a shame I don't model in OO gauge! The layouts were great, but I would have liked a little bit of data on them, e.g. scale. See you in the next video.
Hi Paul! The loco i held jn the video was a class 31, accruscale do make a deltic though!😁 Cheers!
A great show with a lot of nice locos and rolling stock. It looked like you could walk around and look at everything unlike the show earlier in the year. Well done Key Model World. Martin. (Thailand)
Great video of the show. Reminds me of a show I used to go to with multiple arms to the modelling hobby. Even though I won’t get a chance to go to any shows at the NEC let’s hope it carries on and grows. The cross overs between the different genres can have a great effect on new (and old) modellers.
I fully wanted one of those Liebeherr handlers 😍😍
Thanks for the video You managed to get to a lot that I didn't get to see.
I missed a fair bit too 😕😕😕
I recognised that guy from Accurascale. At first I thought it was OONeal, but no. I know he's got his own channel for his layout though.
New Junction 😊😊
Couldn't attend this one, but will be going next year.
Very good show mate, I wish I'd had two days to see it all, I missed SO much!!
That brush two was in pre-tops! I was active trainspotting in BR blue pre-tops era.
Yes, I meant green pre tops 🤣
@@IronHorseRailways I figured. That's the era a model too, so I can have lots of steam still. But I still have a weakness for BR blue because nostalgia.
Ooh, I got a cameo appearance at 25 seconds :)
Get the cameo out the way nice and early 😍😭🤣
Great video
Cheers Mels!!
Looks like I missed a really decent show! Now then... can I order an iron horse figure from modelu? 🤩
Mebbe... 😎
Please do not touch. Too late already touched it! 😛
good vid on channel keep up the good vids thanks lee
Thanks Lee!😎😊
It was a great show. It was busy but not crammed like GETS, as there was more space for the crowds to circulate, even though by midday on Saturday, there were a lot of people milling around, the vast majority of which were having a lovely time and expressing their positiveity about the hobby. I really enjoyed it.
I saw you wandering around with Jenny, but didn't interrupt you as I thought you deserved to enjoy the show - at least for a short while - without a camera in your hand or people stopping you every 10 yards.
As a chap born & bred in South Wales, I can say with some authority that your Welsh accent needs some work 🤣
🤣🤣 Diolch Bach!
Apparently they are looking to extend next year into another hall. Maybe to fit in slot car circuit modelling or put in extra demonstration area's. I know at the Midlands Model Engineering show they do have a large boating pool set up for the RC model boats to sail in. These were on display at the Key Model World show but were statically on show and like the RC trucks they are more interesting to see running.
Enjoyed watching the video very positive
great video, looks a great show
It was!😍
Yes, it was a great show, was there all day, most shows I'm done in a couple of hours. Only modelers missing were the slot car racers, & miniature wargamers.
War games could fill the whole NEC!!😍
Great video and view points as always. Nice to say hi to yourself and Zoe. Like you i was standing at making tracks and could hear comments talking it down. Of course everyone has a view, but things get said out loud so everyone can hear their own negative view point.
Too much negativity mate sadly
Looked good, well done
It was mate!
Looks like an awesome show. I've seen a couple of other vids of it too.
I'm the other side of the world, so no chance of me getting there.
Don't get tempted by those trucks. I had a crappy one as a kid and lost half my mates because I was always playing with it.
Great video mate!
Take a flight! 😁
Cheers bud!
I thought the show was brilliant. The layouts were great but equally as amazing were the other modelling hobbies on show. Those model aircraft were amazing to view. The RC trucks were fun.
Hopefully next year it might be bigger and according to Key Model world they are looking at obtaining a second hall, which could introduce slot car racing circuit modelling, a RC boating pool for the remote control boats and possibly a section on model engineering like the minature traction engines or stationery steam engines.
Boats would have been great 👍👍
That 31 you were holding is pre tops! 😂
Yes, I meant green 🤣 brain wouldn't give me green! 🤣
Great video - I enjoyed the show more than I thought I would - I just wish the military modellers would improve lighting and possibly provide some sort of neutral backscene for their brilliant models- even if just a sheet of card to use when being photographed. Bumped I to you briefly by Gresten early in the day - good to meet you in person
Cheers buddy, lighting can be tricky for sure!😁
Cheers Craig for sharing. Glad it was a success and hopefully I'll get there next time, unfortunately I was already booked this year. I can't understand the knockers, if you don't like it either don't buy it or don't go to it, just my opinion cheers again Andy
Human nature my dear sir!
Glad it was a success. I attended and enjoyed it. But just one issue. It is not the first show of its kind. It may be so in the UK but Intermodellbau in Dortmund has been going for years. Also there is the Modellbau show in Friedrichshafen which is multi faceted. Both are far larger than this show and well worth visiting.
Yes, I did mean UK based 😁
@@IronHorseRailways Though I wouldn't even say UK either. The Model Engineering show held at Alexander Palace and Olympia over the years (think it no longer exists but there is a version up north) was very similar in that it brought all model disciplines under one roof, even had actual flying rc models in one of the halls. Sadly wasn't able to go to this years show but hope to make it next year as it very much reminds me of the old Model Engineering show.
Accurascale Richard's proto model with the working fan - does the fan just spin, or does it REALLY work, drawing the hot air away from the decoder and venting it outside?
There's always one, isn't there?
And it's always my mate Eric here 🤣🤣
@@IronHorseRailways It was meant as a serious question!
@@hamshackleton see this is the problem when you're always posting a gag response or having a joke 🤣
But the more I think about it, actually, that's a great idea - downside is for the fan to actually work it would need to spin much faster to be any real use
Went on Saturday, wish it was less of a record breaking success, too busy to my mind! Putting in the military kits too was good.
Big crowds can cause anxiety for many, but the business speaks volumes of the success 😀
@@IronHorseRailways Yes you have to be careful manoeuvring through the halls, avoiding collisions and the main layout was difficult to get to see. Will go to the Bristol/Thornbury show but may avoid the NEC show in future.
I see so much stuff I wanna buy at shows too unfortunately my wallet is too small for it all.
The show looked great, but ant idea on attendance? It looked great for you to be able show us stuff, but do you think KMW will be happy.
Absolute
Looked a good show with a nice mix of modeling. I’m older than you, but my inner child also wanted that digger; not to mention the class 31 in BR blue (go back to older comments about 6 months ago). Didn’t seem to be stupidly overcrowded like the last Warley show, or were you in early or something?
We were very fortunate enough to have been allowed early entry to film , it got very busy quickly after😁
Loved the video, although…. Were you a bit rude to the bloke talking to Richard, cutting in on him?
He actually cut in on us - we were (Richard and myself) talking before I began filming :)
i loved those Gundams but didn't have the best ones, deathscythe hell :D haha strike freedom is my other fav
I couldn't see Wing/Zero either 😔😔😔

@@LondontransporduckL99 🤣🤣🤣 we all wanted them to start it up!
Yea
@@LondontransporduckL99 - It would generate more fumes than Craig! :-) (cough/choke/splutter!)

Great video, it was nice to meet and chat with you at the weekend👍🚂🚃
You too mate, enjoyed your video too! 😁😁
@@IronHorseRailways thanks 👍
